Good Evening all Well yesterday took an unexpected turn ….. combination of lurgy and something that I ate meant that I spent the day mostly in bed and had to cancel everything that I planned. However, I can record three wins……
Firstly, I need to clarify that when I say No Spend Day NSD - This is spends that have not been budgeted for. DH is in charge of the budget so I don’t know what’s going out when this relates to my personal spending that can be impulsive and is something I can control i.e. not spend!
Win - NSD 🎉 Win - read in bed and nearly finished a book a friend has lent me.
Win - identified one empty certificate frame that can go into boot of car for charitable shop
Book Recommendation I can’t begin to tell you - Elizabeth Buchan This has been a terrific book to read although a very hard read at times. I think as I get older I find it more and more difficult to read about trauma. This book is based on resistance workers in Denmark in World War II with us second storyline about SOE back in the UK. It is harrowing to read at times. However very well written…. And although I’ve read quite a lot about SOE and resistance work in other parts of Europe, such France? I had no idea about Denmark and its history around World War II. I like challenges and I do the Goodreads Reading challenge 60 Books this year and yes, I have got 60 books on my shelf that I have not read……. Therefore, this is book No. 2.As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

Good evening
Pleased to say Wednesday must’ve been one of those 24 hour bug things as I’m back up and running today. I did though pace myself as we are away this weekend for DH birthday.
Win - well I realised I have broke even having rolled over two clients yesterday till next week - I had cancelled my weekly massage and gained an extra client session for tomorrow
Win - NSD again - and we ate up left overs in the fridge and freezer for our meals
Win - Christmas has been packed away for another yer - I am a bit sad. I sent an awful lot of Christmas cards this year and when I took ours down, I compare to my excel spreadsheet of sent. At least a third have not sent to us. I understand the cost of postage and there will always be some who will naturally drop off. I also sent to those frail aunts and uncles who are not in the position perhaps to send back to us, however, there was several working family members who have decided to stop sending… through the grapevine giving to charity instead. The grapevine being my 89 year old parent. When the Grapevine is no longer there, I will have no contact that I think is why it makes me sad as I think the simple sending of a Christmas card at Christmas sends love and acknowledges family and friendship links and good memories of the past. Now I would like to say I would be very happy to have an electronic version or even a sms message. I will be thinking very carefully next year who I will be sending to.
Win - I have recycled an old frame to put my new graduation photo in with my parent. that I found in a cupboard upstairs that I’m gradually emptying.
Win - I have tied and sorted the floor of the garage.
Win - I have completed tasks both on my photo project and my craft WIP projects

I am with you on the cards. The local ones that people just put through the door are still arriving but the posted ones have virtually ceased. A lot of it in my case I think is an age thing as it is over 70s (like me) who are missing. But I have undergone a significant amount of "natural wastage" over the last five years. I doubt however that I will ever have to buy more Xmas cards as I have a stash at least 8 inches tall still. I just wish the stamps were as cheap as the cards.

Evening all
Friday went rather pear shaped….. we should have been in Cambridge in a pub with a roaring fire for OH birthday weekend…instead we are at home. cat sitter phones just after 10 to say he was in A & E. Fortunately the pub was very understanding and rearranged for later in Feb. We do think we have swerved a very cold weekend.
Win - 2 clients
Win - made it into the village post office (2 parcels BF Christmas present and a bag of goodies for Battersea cats including lots of toy cast off #reducing) and charity shop drop offs
Win - pizza night using dough from the freezer ( swerving a takeaway as no supper was planned )
Win - I have completed tasks both on my photo project and my craft WIP projects
Unplanned spending
Balloon to cheer DH up…. His face of delight was worth it.
Pizza toppings from the new deli and a slice of cheese cake for DH.
