Yes, it says "heating contactor" on the cover :)
Think I might be the single phase 2Z model here.

Interesting that it specifies a 9va ac (W if unity power factor) coil load - something I haven't found for my modern proteus 100A on their data sheet..

But it's just over what my 20+W base load (alarms, router etc) goes up off peak. From c20 to c28W.  So maybe similar?

And so maybe a disadvantage to 4port + external vs 5 port internal - that might draw that coil power before metering ?

Agreed. Those contactors do run warm so they're dissipating a few watts of heat.
I was looking at the datasheet for a Chint contactor yesterday (wondering about wiring up the EPS circuit on my battery inverter) and I think that claimed a 20VA coil load at 220V. So it's the right ballpark.

No, it doesn't. But as mentioned by others, it's probably beyond its certified life and needs replacing.

Probably not, most of them have Radio Teleswitch or similar written on them or have an RTS unit mount next to them, similarly annotated.

However since its over 23 years since it was certified its probably pretty close to expiring, requiring replacement anyway.

Theres no obvious sign of any links to a tineswitch - say a 5th low amp cable in your meter photo. But cannot find a manual for it to be sure.

Do you have a twin rate tariff on tge meter ?
Do you have any restricted live circuits - as the meter only has 4 tails - it isnt switching one itself - say for hw or nsh ?

Would need to see more of the cabinet if there is say a seperate meter/ timeswitch.

The govt meter list says Ampy 5209 series are multirate.  But cannot find 5209k manual.

But crucially the govt also says the 5209 series only had 20 years certification and yours is certified 01 / 02 so 2002 - so over 23 years old.

So needs upgrading anyway - to Smart under general End of Life Ofgem guidance to suplliers.

@ALH88 As has been said, really need a picture of all the switch-gear and cables to be certain there's no RTS involved in your setup, though it's highly unlikely as meters of this type seem to have their own inbuilt clock.
Again as mentioned, sadly nothing shows up on a search for this old meter (likewise many other old ones) other than a stupid "AI" result suggesting is likely to be a prepayment meter which it clearly isn't (idiot AI) !  It's on Schedule 4 which shows it's now out of certification. No rush to upgrade if there's no RTS.
