Hi ,I got back yesterday evening absolutely shattered walked /crawled a lot !
So sorry to hear your news Bubbs and hope an effective treatment can start very soon .
got on scales this morning and had gained 31/2 lbs ,hoping to have lost it by next Saturday class .
Tried to be careful ,but had a glass of wine every evening and desserts !
weather was wonderful but windy ,
saw lots of new places and revisited some old favourites ,now back to real life !0 -
Afternoon all, you were on holiday @Suffolksue and enjoyed it which matters. You’ll get the gain off soon.
Another glorious day and if the forecast is to be believed, it’s here all week 😁 Washed three pairs of curtains and two door curtains and they’re out on the line merrily blowing about. Also cleaned all the back windows so plenty body magic. There is method to my madness cos I’m sitting down with my book this afternoon 🤣
Breakfast was bran flakes HEXB, strawberries, raspberries and yoghurt 0.5 syns. Lunch is ham salad with pickles and dinner is homemade lasagne, more salad and garlic bread. Using both HEXAs for cheese and 8 syns for garlic bread (using up freezer contents otherwise I’d not bother).
Hope you’re all having a good day.0 -
Afternoon all, another glorious, sunny day and not quite a windy as yesterday although still a bit blowy!
Glad you had a good holiday and 3.5lb gain isn't too bad, you'll soon shift that and more as long as you don't have loads of holidays lined up! I'm going to really struggle with my weight this year as we have quite a few holidays arranged and short breaks in the motorhome. The biggest problem is that we often eat out when we're away in the van so can't really control what I'm going to be eating! I just have to do the best I can the rest of the time.
We're probably going out in the van for a long weekend - Thursday to Sunday so will definitely be struggling not to put on too much more weight - I'm hoping to shift as much as I can by Thursday (will weigh before we go instead of Friday!)
Thanks for the Asda prices @bubbs. Went over there this morning and bought a leg of lamb and a pork joint. DH has tunnel boned the lamb so I could get it into the freezer easier (wouldn't have fitted in without being squashed a bit!); he also cut off a couple of thick steaks which I've cubed and frozen which will be used to make a tagine at some point - not for a while though as I already have a couple in the freezer! The pork joint has been cut into 2 which are both plenty big enough for a roast and either cold with chips or another sweet and sour!
Today's plan:
B - weetabix, milk, strawberries, blueberries - HEB; part HEA2; S
L - ham salad - P; S; F
D - sweet and sour pork, rice - P; S; F
HEA1 & part 2 - milk
HEB - Weetabix
Syns - none planned
Have a good day everyone.

Breakfast - heb an and b…..cheese and beans on toast
Dinner - pasta, tuna, tomato, cucumber, sweetcorn and yoghurt.
tea - lamb steak, carrots, actifry potatoes 1 1/2 syns, peas and carrots. Drop of gravy 1 syn.Snacks - jive bar 5 synsJanuary spends - £587.580 -
That's what happens with holidays @milann and @Suffolksue. I like the realism of this thread. We all know that SW works but it's not always possible to stick to it especially when eating out. Personally, I thought it was worth a few sacrifices to get to target but a few pounds for a holiday is fine provided I get back on it ASAP. It's @joedenise's 'Good when I can' principle and it works!!
As expected went over syns yesterday. DH and I had a really good day and enjoyed our Sunday lunch out and visit to the cinema. I know I could have done roast beef at home for far fewer syns but we've not had a roast out since Christmas so no problem.
Back on plan today. I'm going to call into the surgery tomorrow and use their scales to see how much I need to lose before next WI.
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, scrambled eggs (P), tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- JP (F), prawns (P), salad (S)
D- salmon (P), SW chips (F), roast veg, green stuff (S)
Syns- LTL mayo 11 -

Hi all,
Just a quick update. Our hike is going well - another 14 miles today - saw a naked man skinny dipping in the river on Dartmoor(!) - food okay. We are taking a WM roll with us and DH is cooking in the evening. Doubt I’ll lose anything though as never do!!
We are hoping to get to Launceston tomorrow which is Cornwall and the final county whoop!
Hugs to all but especially @bubbs

Afternoon all, where has today gone? It's another beautiful day. Needed some shopping so decided as there wasn't too much we would go on the scooter. It's nice to get out on it again as didn't get used at all last year due to DH needing and then having a knee replacement. By the time he was ready after the op it was definitely too cold for the scooter!
I had some hand sewing to do on the top I started just before we went away so sat in the garden in the sunshine doing that. It's so nice being able to just sit and enjoy the warmth of the sun on my face.
Glad your hike is going well @Coxy11. Sounds like the food is better than usual as your DH is taking your stuff from place to place.
DH had a look in the camping magazine to see if there were any cheap meets this weekend and has found one so we'll be going Thursday until Sunday. Not sure what internet will be like so may or may not post over the weekend! Will stick to plan as much as possible but will probably be eating out yet again!
Today's plan:
B - scrambled eggs, toast - P; HEB
L - stuffed peppers - HEA2; S; F
D - LO roast pork, chips, beans, mushrooms - P; S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - couple of 0% G&Ts 1
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Evening all 😁
Thanks Coxy, glad walk is going well.
Denise have a lovely weekend.
Dh's appointment came today 17th, week Thursday but get this ....the doctors just rang with his blood results, he's going through everything, DH says can I just stop you there, he says do you and the hospital communicate? Doc goes yes, he goes well you don't as I've already had an MRI and biopsy and I have an appointment. He then goes well your kidneys are starting to fail, HE comes off the phone goes sod me, I have arthritis, I possibly have prostate cancer now my kidneys are failing, bt doc goes your vit D is good...............probably because it was low before and he was told to take vit d tablets, honestly if it wasn't as serious it would be a joke!
