Been super busy up at the plot and at home. Lots of seeds sown, just need to find temporary homes for them whilst they germinate. 2nd row of potatoes in. Lots of weed seeds coming up. So managed to get those hoed off. Couple of asparagus spears poking through 🎉 and mangy touty through too. Time to relax
love 🐞

My donated asparagus crowns may work out - one of them has a spear coming up. Must remember to water... Still haven't potted on the veg seedlings, but have found some capillary matting to stick in the trays indoors. Courgettes seeds have been sown, but those are in the greenhouse on gravel trays.
Signs of peas and spinach germinating too, so need to start working on getting the other beds prepped, seeds sown, and a vague plan of what's going to be going in after these crops needs making.6 -

anyone near L1dl, they still have some garden stuff and it now on sale, saw a cold frame for £19.99.
Probably a good buy given that we had frost overnight! My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

You are very welcome @redofromstart!
Done loads of seedplanting on weekend, including some seeds in rockwool. Never tried before, so watch this space. On allotment we done a quick raised bed from wood i salvaged from a skip (after asking of course) for some more gladioli.
We also redid the compost bin, with flat sides if pallets on inside, rookie mistake if you want to dig over inside.
Ms C really stepped up with my back still sore and carried, drilled and generally whacked whatever needed whacking, so today we both sore!
In the greenhouse the first Verbena seedlings already showing after 5days!

Added compost to the strawberry bed and filled in gaps with new strawberry plants. Started weeding the blueberry area, unfortunately we’ve lost quite a few plants. Pea and , beetroot seedlings are through. 🎉. Plenty of butterflies about which is nice to see.Love 🐞

Bees have gone bonkers so they take precedence over garden at the moment. Most of my replacement tomatoes need potting on really, and potatoes are ready to go in. Thursday for them, I thinkSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

Dug a 3ft strip across the plot. Watered and fed the cauliflower/cabbages with nettle fertiliser. Very smelly job.Love 🐞

Good job @ladybird1106! Digging is hard, but so satisfying.
I have seedlings popping their heads through on almost everything i sowed on weekend. Now the dreaded fear of leggy seedlings. They all in propagator trays with lids, but will put them out during the day as suggested previously.
I done my first ever sprouted seeds in a jar, feel very posh

I planted some seeds from a Scotch Bonnet chilli that I had from Sainsbury's, and they haven't started to come up yet so perhaps they're not going to. Other things continue to get slowly bigger, I think I need to move my tomato seedlings into separate pots and I'm starting to run out of space on the window sill. I also planted a couple of sunflower seeds in pots for later transfer into the garden, and they're coming up quite well.6
