Ooooh help please!
Bought a lovely Laura Ashley pure wool skirt today for £6 from the Samaritans shop in Thirsk. Tried it on at home, liked the fit, pulled off the tags. Then went to steam it and noticed an obvious moth hole….aarrgghh. What do I do? Do the freezer procedure, (would hate to contaminate other woollens), try and return it, or just bin it? Just dunno what to doooo.

Where is the moth hole when on? Could it be darned?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Can you do something like the Japanese recommend, put something there as a visible patch: a tiny patch of a scottie dog or a thistle or other flower?6

I’d do the freezer thing and then darn itSealed pot challenge 822

As often happens here the hive mind has inspired me 😁. I’m gonna put the skirt in freezer isolation for a while, ( is it days/weeks/months can’t remember?). Then as the skirt is floor length I will lop about 4” off and try to extract some usable wool strands from the waste with the aim of either darning or possibly embroidering over the damaged bit with the wool. Quite looking forward to the challenge now! Thanks all 😊🪡🧵9

@Miró - I would suggest personalising the skirt turning the hole into a small flower (darning hack). Take a look at this video 0:57-1:17:

I actually bought the dress with my sister in mind
as silver is not my colour at all. She also happily relieved me of a Next blouse, Canada Goose jacket, gilet and skirt.
I came across this and thought it would be a good home addition for indoor group board games. 1,000-piece puzzles are always more interesting with a G&T in one hand....

It wasn’t a charity shop, but I went to a jumble sale held for Havens Hospices at a club called The Arlington just now. I got 11 things as everything was only £1. Two toys for my dog, a cushion, 5 dresses and two tops and a bag. Entry was only £2 as it was after midday.😍8

Are you sure it's a moth hole? I mean, go ahead and freeze it just in case, but given the location it could have been caught on something to make a hole perhaps?Miró said:
Front, hip high…probably could stitch but is it worth worrying about contaminating other stuff? Sooo disappointed! 😟Floss said:Where is the moth hole when on?
