The womenfolk have agreed on a £10 maximum, ideally charity shop sourced, Christmas gift limit. So I've moved the Christmas pud brandy into another 'pot', along with mum’s advent calendar (bought before we agreed on the threshold) and then prowled the charity shops. Only one I came away empty handed from - it had a glorious £20 of Denby (Daybreak) - teapot, jug, cups & saucers in the window & I maintain it put me off my hunting stoke.
Three cotton scarves (rabbits, sheep & roses), 6 CDs of festive or cheerful music (one sis used to belly dance, spotting a disc of pops to undulate to rather had her name on it, as well as a 3 for a pound sticker), a smashing black & white costume jewellery broach (which will up my “seasonal dressing” game several yards), 2 Terminator movies (for a colleague quietly dubious about AI), a Richard Osman book I’d not heard of & 2 Katie Ffordes (as if you want some utter wromantic tosh, it helps to have a consistent supplier) & a seasonal lidded robust cardboard box that doesn’t say “Christmas” but does have snowmen, peace joy etc & holds all the aboveAcross 4 charity shops but £12.85!10 -
Just a note to say that if anyone has listings on Vinted, they have very frustratingly changed their sizings. Now they are in pairs - S 8-10, M 12-14, L16-18 etc, BUT they have also reset the sizes on every listing. So I have some 16s listed which were an XL, which is now a 20-22. I've spent some time editing every listing to show the UK size in the title, and "XL 16-18"2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hello,
I did my trip to Bridlington today... we had been to Flamborough Head and the beach at Fraisborogh first. Very beautiful weather - so good we could sit outside for a coffee - until lunchtime, when torrential rain arrived.
Bridlington appeared to be suffering from the decline you often see in High Streets these days... lots of shut shops and what was there quite run-down. But despite that I managed to find a few things, including spending £60 on a coat in the Reloved shop. It's from here: https://jungecoats.co.uk/ and would have been about £200 new. It's the most perfect dog-walking coat - fits perfectly, great length, not too bulky. Now I really must have a coat audit and sell some I no longer need on Vinted.
I also bought a hot pink M&S mohair jumper (£7) and a French Connection Dress of £10 - black and white and mid-calf length. Final thing was a shift dress from Blue Vanilla in cream and green. Unworn, and will put away for next summer.

Thank you @Floss. As you know, I sell on Vinted for fundraising and not only list my clothing but people gift me things to sell, so a range of sizes. Will be spending today editing all my listings 🤬Floss said:Just a note to say that if anyone has listings on Vinted, they have very frustratingly changed their sizings. Now they are in pairs - S 8-10, M 12-14, L16-18 etc, BUT they have also reset the sizes on every listing.Cross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 25/25 Currently reading Guilty by Definition by Susie Dent8 -
What a mess!! Vinted is rapidly becoming unusable. They now categorise a size 10 as a 12-14. No warning received re the changes, tho some people received one. Fortunately I have always stated the label size in the title and in the description and added a pic of the size label but I'm still getting messages asking why a size 10 is also a 12-14 so loads of people are not aware of the changes.Floss said:Just a note to say that if anyone has listings on Vinted, they have very frustratingly changed their sizings. Now they are in pairs - S 8-10, M 12-14, L16-18 etc, BUT they have also reset the sizes on every listing. So I have some 16s listed which were an XL, which is now a 20-22. One problem those buying/selling on Vinted (or buying in charity shops) is that the size numbers (10, 12, etc) have changed over the years in relation to the actual inch/cm sizes.Miró said:

The size numbers reduced as time went by and our bodies grew larger, on average. Vanity, vanity, all is vanity!12 -
I've never heard of this brand before - and my goodness the prices BN are steep! But they do look v well made and if I spot one I shall find it difficult to resist based on quality alone.Magpie100 said:Hello,

A few weeks ago I bought a PIFCO (hand) milk frother to replace the second hand SilverCrest one that had gone kaput for £1. When I looked at the handle the battery mechanism quite frankly looked dodgy but I measured up and realised a C battery might bring it to life. I finally found a C battery at a price I was willing to pay (£1) and gave it a go. Result: delicious frothy coffee!!

I too am feeling irritated with Vinted and their sizing.
And I remember as a child, a friend of my mum used to send her children’s outgrown clothes on to us. About twice a year this huge brown paper parcel would arrive. However she had lots of boys and we were lots of girls so they were mostly corduroy trousers and thick jumpers in earthy shades.
