Wow on all four counts, but the latter?! "there’s nowhere safe to dress"!Miró said:Came home, flung all the doors wide open cos it was so humid, went to make a cup of tea and took it into the conservatory to be confronted with this….. yikes, they will be moving into the house next! 😳5 -
Adore the ducklings. I have that LK B dress in blue. It is gorgeous on and works at so many events, I've worn it in winter with a polo neck underneath and it is still great. (I found mine at the TK max when I was in desperate need of a dress that fitted for a wedding the next day!)Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

This is the sort of find that I’d be delighted by, then shocked rigid on selling…

@C_J and @Miró - thanks for doing the heavy lifting here! I have just tested it on an old leather belt and also some cotton and no dice, so I'll add it to my niece's crafting box.
It was so beautifully sunny yesterday I felt compelled to walk to my local chazzer(s) at lunchtime and bought the following for the sum total of £1.40 (4 for £1 in one shop, 10p each in the other) which has added to my wartime collection. I wasn't desperate to read The Salt Path, but now I know to treat it as a work of fiction I felt I could spend 10p on it!

@Miró - you seem to be in the bargain capital of England! I know you describe the second dress as being garish but do wear it one evening before taking the shears to it. Paired with the right accessories I think it has the potential to look stunning (classic ugly duckling).Miró said:Today’s trip to Otley….came back with a black lace LKBennett dress for 99p
A garish long multi coloured dress by Karen Millen for 99p, ((might make it into a skirt?)
And a mans shirt, also 99p

Did you try the crafty thingumidoo on paper/card? I have seen greetings cards with embroidery done around punched holes.Rosa_Damascena said:@C_J and @Miró - thanks for doing the heavy lifting here! Sadly the 'garish' dress is too small and the lace LKB dress is at least 2 sizes too big, (which I knew but thought it might be take-inable, but it is so beautifully made and immaculate it would be a shame and very difficult to alter so I shall have to think about either passing it on or selling it onRosa_Damascena said:

Just tried it - works well on paper that I estimate to be 130gsm, but leaves an impression rather than holes when this paper is doubled, so probably no good for cards.Miró said:

It looks like 'garish dress' was also made with a contrasting colour top, looks really nice if you have a stretchy top and handy with a sewing machine: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/395605013471Miró said:Sadly the 'garish' dress is too small and the lace LKB dress is at least 2 sizes too big, (which I knew but thought it might be take-inable, but it is so beautifully made and immaculate it would be a shame and very difficult to alter so I shall have to think about either passing it on or selling it on

I love that garish dress - both the original on here and the one on bay of e. The flowers are to big for me on the top or I'd be after it
