@dawnybabes @SandyShores you're right! And I'd never have bought them new, for precisely those reasons... and I am wearing them round the house today in great comfort!7

So much to read, so little time.5 -
I spotted some table mats in Dun3lm sale the other day. They were just the ones I wanted before I bought the current ones that I thought would do until I found the 'right' ones. But I decided against purchasing them, mine are fine and I didn't want to create more waste or spend more money unnecessarily. I'd really like to buy a kitchen towel holder though, but will have to look around the charity shops as its a want not a need."Think of many things, do one"

Rosa_Damascena said:Sorry @Watty1 I didn't realise your situation. I'm occasionally in Kent (which I appreciate is vast!) so please do PM me. JackieO was also in Kent but now seems happily resettled in IoW.
I got an injunction against ex but am still cautious. I know lots of people read these boards, so, i would say I'm really happy now, very blessed with my life and survived getting the injunction without legal support as my solicitor said it would not be possible. I fired my solicitor and wrote the court papers (with help) myself. I got the injunction. It was not physical but emotional and financial abuse. Contrary to what I had been told (by my solicitor and the police) the judge was supportive, understood controlling behaviours and found in my favour.
If anyone is reading this and struggling PM me or do a search on the forum for my court story because I posted it in case it helped anyone or reach out to Womens Aid or a local charity. There is so much help in the world and so many people to give it
Sorry - way of topic for this thread but I feel strongly about letting women know that abuse is not just physical and that there is help available.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!23 -
Watty1 I hope you settle in to your new area and start to enjoy life once more.I wish you all the peace and happiness you wish for as my late half sister went through a dreadful time with her ex.
Luckily not all men are like that and I'm sure you will make lots of new friends and feel brave enough to start your life over again.
Take care, and we are all here if you want an anonymous rant about anything

@Watty1 wishing you all the very best for the future 💐Not much luck with the bargain hunting lately.... car boots rained off and quality stuff seems to be winging its way to Vinted. However, struck lucky today in the Cancer Research shop in Northallerton. Picked up a brand new, linen, Jaeger midi dress for £25.95. Pricy but the Jaeger tag had the original price of £135 showing and it has pockets!!!17

What a beautiful dress. I think I would have been happy to pay that for it.7
