Thank you! I definitely feel not using them regularly is right for me at this moment in time. It's not really that long ago when I felt.odd not carrying an "emergency CC" with me in my wallet.
We had a fab day Sunday and did surprisingly come home with a small profit 🤣 definitely not champagne worthy at £22.47 but we kept to the strict budget of £2 per race. It was lovely just to spend some time together and yoof was quite pleased to use the maths skills he remembered from the school.trip he went on last autumn.
Yesterday we had a NSD (MUCH NEEDED!!) and set to tackling the junkyard that is supposed to be the garden. Managed to create a new potting/veggie area using things we already had that needed a purpose so I was very pleased. I do like recycling things and I used to have a quite productive veggie patch (pure luck rather than skill) although it got decimated years ago when the house extension was started. I'm starting small, aiming for easy things I can grow in the many large pots I have accumulated. DH has firmly said No to a compost bin as he is still traumatised by Rat-Gate the last time we had one 9 years ago.
Another lovely day here so planning to help yoof with his leaflet round job which means a bit of exercise and maybe some more gardening. Aiming for another NSD.

V@nted sale completed! Only 2 quid but I rounded it up to 10 quid and sent it as a mortgage over payment 😁

What a lovely sunny day! And also a NSD.
Today was spent side hustling and decluttering. Amazingly I filled the paper recycling bin and yet can't see any space from where it all has been. Also pottered in the garden planting up a herb set MIL gave me for Christmas so that looks pretty on the windowsill.
I am debating whether to save my side hustling money or whether to just keep chipping away at the mortgage. Having a mortgage has never bothered me before (mind you neither did having huge amounts on CCs until Oct 2024!) But increasingly I can feel it as a burden and that I need to "shake it off" (one for the Swifties!).
I've also been down rabbit holes looking at what tax relief I could be eligible to claim - I never realised I get taxed on my mileage claim money over 45p!! Just need to have some time and to sit and properly work out what forms and info I need amd how to apply!!

Fantastic progress @LzzyIsGod! The lightbulb is well and truly on. Love Humdinger xx

I would encourage you to look into the tax relief/refund options. I put my big girl pants on last week and did the same (my idea of a nightmare) and have received a tidy little amount back in a refund 😊

Thanks both much appreciated!
Busy day at work today - only spends were weekly grocery delivery and sadly no time for any exercise. I really need to get back into a regular routine for this.
Early Night for me tonight as I'm working this weekend, hopefully might get chance to look into the work guidance on the tax stuff and potential for increasing my pension contributions!

Quiet Weekend spending wise although I did get some more food yesterday as I was out and about for work and ate all my packed food too early 😂. The trusty coffee flask avoided any caffeine emergencies though - I object to paying takeaway coffee prices these days when I can take a flask.
Another Small V#nted sale came through so I rounded it up to a fiver and sent it as a mortgage OP - I am finding myself hyperfocusing on this and I can't yet decide if it's healthy or not. If I can find another 35 quid it rounds the total down to a nice rounded 3 zeros at the end of the owed balance 😂 I'll be back to counting out the shrapnel jar to find it!
A few days off now- I'd like to crack on with some painting and gardening and maybe find some nice cheap or free (we like free!!) things to do with the yoofs on their last week off. First though another cup of tea .......

There are many less healthy things you could be doing 😂
