I have decided no more prattling around with balance transfers and to clear the balance that's ending next week and be done with it.
I'm still doing some mental gymnastics over whether to clear the 2nd smaller balance of £880 that's on the same card that ends at the end of May at the same time or to wait another 2 months.
But i'm tired. I'm tired of playing Pass the Balance on CCs game. I've played it for years and I've just had enough now.
As always any thoughts appreciated!

Ha, pass the balance game! Think we're all at it, it is tiresome isn't it? Well done on clearing a balance though!

I'm having one of those moments where I just want done 🤣 I want to hyper focus on the mortgage and not focus on ending balance transfer dates or CCs. Ironically V£rgin have just increased my limit on their card to a whopping £17k - how on earth would I ever pay that amount back
Just worked out how to set up an overpayment to the mortgage which has cheered me up. Sent a small amount as a tester to round it down to the nearest zero (£8.46 last of the big overpayers here!) I like round numbers, makes it easier on my maths

I think it's nice to know we have options and we can make choices that work for us, but also it definitely becomes a drain when it's extra things to think about and plan for and remember.
Don't underestimate how good it feels to shed that mental load.
Also, I overpay my mortgage by about 7.31 a month so no judgement here. It does feel good to be overpaying even if it's a tiny amount.

Ooh I am positively extravagant then - my mortgage overpayment is £22.88 as I round up to the nearest £50, the calculator here suggests that's going to save me about £100 a year over the life of the mortgage, every little helps etc so even that £8.46 or £7.31 is still going to save something, don't knock it @Rhyddid2026 @LzzyIsGod

Aha! Little steps! Just call me Lzzy The Mortgage Slayer!
I didn't want to send too much money in case I had set it up wrong - I've got enough mortgage to pay without paying someone else's!
I think I am resolved to clear the entire card that's got 1 balance ending this week and just be done with it. After all what's 2 months between a creditor and a credit card. I'm half tempted to clear the whole blooming lot of them as they all just feel like a millstone round my neck. A stoozer I will never be.

That’s £8.46 more than I’ve overpaid this month though! Well done 😊

🤣 Weds will be the day. Gives me a few days to stop hyperventilating.

I would clear it too - having a weight off your mind is more valuable than the couple of £ you'd earn in interest in the next couple of months.
