PS I had the oddest dream last night. I dreamt it was Feb payday and it was a really good one but within a day I had spent it all and was desperately wishing for it to be March pay day again. Slightly relieved to wake up and find it wasn't true

Waking up to daylight and birdsong is definitely something to be appreciated and soak in. It’s the one change I’ve noticed this past week and what a difference it is making 😊

Bye Bye Baby!
Praise Hallelujah! Today is a momentous day as my final phone handset payment has been paid 🥳 we are officially a household of fully owned phones woohoo and no loans.
Ok.so it was only.£11 a month but it was properly annoying like an itch. I half expected a trumpet sound from my phone but it was rather anticlimactic 😂
Roll on payday this week, I'm definitely ready for it this month.

I remember that joy…although mine was deffo more than £11 per month 😂, my current one is still soldiering on despite me doing my best to destroy the thing. It has certainly picked up some bumps and bruises along the way. Old me would absolutely have just renewed the contract for the new handset.

Bit of an up and down week.
Youngest yoof had his birthday which was lovely - usual birthday treat of takeaway but I did bake a homemade cake. He loved his presents which were all cash rolled (obvs!) Takeaway is still very much an occasional treat in our house - I just can't justify the cost on a super regular basis.
Did have some bad news about a friend's health which was very sad - timely reminder that tomorrow is never promised to us.
Aiming for a quiet weekend this week although it was payday yesterday and it was quite a nice one with it including 2 weekends worked in Jan and some decent travel reimbursement. I am aiming to save all.of the extra £500 particularly as March's pay will be almost my Base rate as I've not done any weekends in Feb and travel expenses were only about £80.
The month's are rolling by and I'm still squirreling away money for the car insurance and mot which will come up in June. I'm also stashing a bit of cash for Metallica in the summer as that'll be a pricey weekend!!! Mortgage overpayments have not yet occurred as I'm still trying to get the EF up to 6 month's worth of expenses - this month we have saved £1150 which I was really chuffed with, the no council tax this month really helped!
Hope Everyone has a good weekend xx

Well good morning how the devil are we all?
I've been lurking but just realised I hadn't updated 😅 bit like a text message you think you've replied to but only did it in your head.
Hope everyone had a good weekend - I was unsurprisingly working but few days off now and I have a long list of Things I Want To Acheive which does include some of mybusual weekend household jobs that just dont get done after a full on day. One thing we did very little of last year was decorating and everywhere is staying to look decidedly shabby (not even shabby chic) so I did send DH out to purchase some paint whilst I was working away and I have a Hit List. If the weather's nice I'd like to Potter in the garden too and I've agreed to go help sort and organise a couple of family members kitchens (I do love a bit of Sort Your Life Out!)
Bills Wise everything is ticking along - keeping an eye on the energy bills as they wanted to put our DD up to £240 😱 a month but we were in £600 credit last month. Dh is excellent at crediting our account with his travel payments from work (which he claims back for his electric company car) but even so £240 seemed flipping HUGE. Knocked it back down to £200 which with the average work payment of £50. If I win the premium bonds I'm buying solar panels!!!!
Right now where is my list?????

That's taking the mick with the energy particularly as you are in credit at the end of winter, and also that prices are due to go down (for at least a while) in April!

Unsurprisingly I agree! I don't mind a bit of credit and it's a big house to heat but that's ridiculous.

Oh Forgive me Diary Land I have been ridiculously and (quite frankly) pointlessly IDIOTICALLY FOOLISH.
not only did I break the Cardinal Rule.of Don't Use the Credit Card I used it for something I had not thought through sensibly (skinny jabs - everyone seems to be at it!!!). It did accidentally go.on that card but still I woke up this morning utterly appalled at myself and with buyers regret - luckily was able to cancel with full refund so.not an utter disaster.
I am an utter idiot. I'm now wondering if it'll have messed up my 0% balance transfer that's been sat quietly tottering down til Aug 26 when its due to expire. I do have the money to clear it but was intending to.let it snooze away earning interest.
Sigh. I shall have to lose weight the traditional way as I can't bear to spend that kind of money!!
