Zombie The Cranberries
One of the first bands I ever saw live was The Cranberries. I'm still stuck a bit in the 90s in many ways but worse decades to be I guess. Feel a bit zombie like after a long week at work and overtime this weekend, definitely ready for a few days off now.
Dh has been tasked with trying to sort the mashooosive utilities hike - I'm.not running a One woman band here and I can't sort everything out myself - I have many many balls to juggle and I need him to take some of them for the team or I will sink. I think it's a perfect storm of Winter Usage meeting end of fixed rate and the blooming electric car his work have provided and it's left a pickle, one which isn't unsortable but needs attention prompto. Daft thing is we rarely have the heating on and everything is on timers or run overnight already. Still Spring is coming and nothing is insurmountable.
Anyway a NSD here ahead of potentially a spendy week. I have though been gifted some vouchers through a long service reward at work and I shall use these towards some garden renovations Id like to do.
I keep reading on other diaries about people doing surveys- I signed up for Profilific back in January and still haven't heard anything which is disappointing so might need to.look at some other ones maybe. This week i will try and get back selling some bits if I can and recheck the budgets to see if there's any further shavings I can do. Emergency funds are looking pretty healthy but I worry that it doesn't take much these days for them to evaporate really fast.
Other things on my To Do list next week is some Spring Cleaning of the house, some gardening and maybe some decorating. I think I perhaps should allow myself to have a bit of Me time too - I'm not a fan of "self care" but it's been a frantic few months and even the Duracell Bunny slows down occasionally!!
Hope everyone has had a good weekend4 -
2 MSE things completed today - changing my mobile SIM to a MSE deal advertised (saving a whopping 29 quid a month!) and notice given on the gym membership.
The gym was a hard one i wont lie and I've had to unfreeze it for a month (so will have 1 more payment and another month of access) before it goes. It's tough but it doesnt mean its forever and currently it's a luxury I can go without3 -
Wow! That's an epic saving on the mobile! Well done

My current provider haven't got anything anywhere near that cheap - if anything many of their deals are more than I'm paying now2 -
All for me Grog The Dubliners
Having just picked up some more overtime for the forthcoming months to ensure I can continue to keep the local economy going (aka make sure there's some money for the beer fund in the future) and with it being St Patrick's Day I thought I'd go for the Dubliners today.
I am managing to snaffle overtime here and there and long may it continue........ not always guaranteed and my ins and outgoings aren't based on it but I'm actively grabbing it when it's available. As they say "everything little helps"
Tonight I had a go at homemade veggie burger patty thingys for myself instead of buying my usual ultra processed frozen ones. They were fairly ok and edible even if they were slightly onion bhaji ish and there's a few leftover which I have frozen so can knock a couple of quid off next weeks grocery shop.
The sun came out so rather than drive to an appointment I decided to walk - another MS thing done today and I felt good for it 😂
Now if I could just find a leprechaun and persuade them to part with a little pot of gold, my day would be complete.

one step forwards (2 steps back) the Desert Rose Band.
Throw back to the days when an old bf was obsessed with GTA and the country radio station that you could listen to in the game. Seems to sum up life this week!
Having a few health issues this week which go a little way to explain why I've been so up and down, had some more tests to find out the root cause and rule out potentially serious issues. The less said about the dentist trip yesterday the other than I need to massively allocate more money towards this.
I did pop to B and m and managed to.limit spending to some bulbs and bedding plants for the garden which I'll plant today.

Hope you get some answers to your health issues soon."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney1

Thank you @jwil it'll be a 2 week wait for results so in the meantime we rock on (whilst secretly trying not to stress) .......
Ace of Spades Motorhead
probably one of the coolest rock bands ever and the immortal lines " But that's the way I like it, baby, I don't want to live forever ... And don't forget the joker"
More sad news today, this time from work - this week's really sticking the boot in and then giving it a good kicking. Only thing that will top this week off is my car (which is being serviced tomorrow) having a major issue. If there are Car Gods I'm sending Good Vibes (I'd send nudes which is allegedly a thing these days - who knew!! - but at my age I'm not sure they'd be welcomed)
I do appear to have ported over my number on my sim (yay) although V@daphine seem to have now blocked me on their app (boo) but I thought I was technically still their customer as I have a separate phone contract with them. Ah well. I've got bigger fish to fry tbh.,
Other than that nowt else to add money wise. Roll on blooming payday next week!3 -
I Will Survive Gloria Gaynor
oh yes I will. Well some the health tests came back and the good news is yep I'm here and still breathing. Some bits require improvement but I'm sure we can all resonate with that.
March is a month I'm ready to say goodbye to money wise. I feel I've haemorrhaged money left, right and centre so I'm ready to reset come payday this week. I may need a jiggle around which will massively upset my spreadsheet but this last week has properly given me a scare healthwise. I don't normally frighten easily but I'd quietly assumed I was invincible and actually I'm not. It was a shock to the system tbh.
However I'm storming on coz that's what we do and we take on tomorrow. We grow strong, and we learn how to get along 💪 😉6
