We went in the loft a free months ago and found some 8” floppy discs (along with the 5.25 and the 3” variety). My DS Couldn’t get his head round how little they held !Sealed pot challenge 822

Ah you are all my people!!
My two are quite used to cassette tapes as we have one in our retro campervan- I've always refused to upgrade the stereo as it's more authentic and we had loads of tapes in the loft. Life without the Internet though blows their little minds - they just cant comprehend it at all. Even the idea of the little carbonated paper slips you had to sign in a shop if you wanted to pay by card (after the cashier had got an imprint of your card details) is totally alien to them!
I remember the TV of my youth which had 4 channels and no remote! You had to get up to manual change the channel hahahah

My two can't comprehend a world without internet either.
It's been a long time since I changed provider. Buy the new sim and then when you register it, you should get the option of porting your number, or you just get in touch with them and give the pac code to them."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney1 -
Baby you can drive my car - The Beatles
In honour of my mechanic mate who fitted new sensors today and who is determined to keep my car going for me. He's going to do me a service and oil change as well this month for mates rates - hes on his own debt busting mission so appreciates the extra pennies. I do think if I have my time again I shall learn a trade although cold garages might put me off becoming a mechanic.
Quiet day today just doing Sunday jobs and prepping for the week ahead. I'm nearly sorted for my work trip having dug out my euros and the monzo card - not sneaky bank charges for me - and mostly packed although i will recheck this tomorrow night. Need to add one nice out evening outfit but I'm putting off trying any on as I feel very lardy at the moment. Must remember to stay out the duty free though. I do seem to be developing a cold - first one of winter and typical timing just as I'm going away.
Can't remember if I mentioned that my expenses for my work trip have been approved so that means I can clear the card I popped these on when they come through. I've been surprised how twitched I've been about using that card, almost a little panicky - felt a little like a backwards step? Although I will clear it as soon as I get the cash and NOT let the balance creep up which is I guess how sensible people manage their cards. One other big achievement for us this month is the next holiday payment installment was paid - again with cold hard cash (well electronic payment) but not on a CC for the first time ever. There's a plan in place so we should pay this off rather resort to credit which again is a massive improvement for us. Maybe we are actually learning!
Hope everyone has had a good weekend.Nov/Dec 24 £39 564

Well, that sounds a good weekend moneywise.
It can take a couple of 'cycles' for debtbusters to have all their pots filled up enough ahead of the bills so there can be bit of up and down in the debt. You're doing well if you're reducing debt AND meeting new payments due. Also stopping that age old trick of pretending the expenses reimbursement is a source of income and not a repayment is a winner!2 -
Omg I didn't update last night because I was too busy trying to organise my suitcase 🤣 I've meticulously planned outfits but need a couple "just in case" as I have a habit of totally getting these things wrong.
Smart I can do. Casual I can do (and is my natural state). Smart Casual I just never seem to get correct and either over or under dress argh. It's only 4 days and 3 nights!!
Need to top up the petrol as I don't want to be stressing either on the way down or coming home. I have my passport so everything should be fine

Well there could only be one choice really 🤣 what a marvellous few days, i feel like a new woman and although it was work it was really inspiring and good to have a few days away. Obviously spending was on the cards (accommodation was covered but food and drink was not) but actually I went with a budget in mind and pretty much managed to stick to it without feeling too deprived or having over indulged. Water was free and I remembered to pack a water bottle atleast. Did spend a little in the duty free on little gifts (35 quid) so not totally overboard. Did also manage to achieve to recreate one of my fave Oddball moments "drinking wine, eating cheese and catching some rays" (I realise this makes NO SENSE like my diary title if you've never seen Kelly's Heroes"
This is the longest I've ever been without updating my diary and I'm pleased to report all the balances continue to come down albeit sloooooooowly at what feels like a snails pace. March is shaping up to be a pricey old month what with working away, money for school and scout trips, extra curricular items and school leavers hoodies so will defo need to dip into the joint savings for these. But I guess that's why we save some money for these extra costs.
Work decisions are rapidly looming on the horizon and will need some careful consideration and thinking on my part - need to work out the money side of the decision especially as I'm on my debt busting mission. My last regular CC payment is due this week so will do a tot up of my current position then.
Off to catch up on other peoples diaries as I feel like I've got a touch of FOMO!Nov/Dec 24 £39 564
