    Patience (GnR)

Im more of a rock fan than boy bands so  was always going to opt for Guns n Roses over Take That! Chosen today because I have to keep reminding myself Rome wasn't built in a day and these things take time, and it took time to dig my debt hole and it'll take time to fill the hole back in.

However not a bad few days - no unexpected spends, small token extra amount earnt at the weekend and bank balance is still in the black 👍. Planned payment gone out today to big balanced CC3 but I'm now overpaying the minimum by £35 a month as a standard and still hoping to chuck a little more at it by the time payday rolls round. Currently stands at £9050 which is better than the 9665 when I started this plan.

I caved at the weekend and sent the £4.20 to little CC4 to round it down to £4120 - just makes the maths easier to add up 🤣 Total CC total stand at 20345 (compared to 20932 at its highest in Dec with the OD paid off). CC2 is still to have a Feb payment.

Small, little steps but I think I'm still making progress? I must remember to stop wishing time away to hurry the process up as that's not good either!

You spin me round (like a record) - Dead or Alive

This week has certainly been an utter whirlwind tbh and working extra this week and weekend was possibly not my wisest decision. Still have to take the opportunities when they pop up.

regrettably there have been some additional spends this week, youngest was in a performance yesterday that meant we had to grab food on the go although we kept it cheap and cheerful. I've also used my (cleared and zero balance) CC1 for some work expenses which I can claim back - if they don't come through in time for the next bill I will use some EF to clear it though as i dont want to pay any interest.

All planned payments have gone out to the CCs and - drum roll - we are currently standing at:

              Current/ Nov 24
    CC2   7000
    / 7911
    Cc3    9050
    / 9665
    CC4   4120
    / 4312
    Loan 16170.87 / 17144
    OD      zero / 1750
    Total:  36340.87  vs 39161

everything is still going in the right direction (except CC1 but that's a short term blip) and if there's anything left over before payday I will split it between the EF and CC3.  Next month I will break that 36k barrier and get below 20k on the cards 🤞

No Saturday night partying for me - work again tomorrow, still I will appreciate the extra in the pay packet come end of March!

Thank you! It's so easy to get disheartened when there's a mountain to climb and I've only really shared all this on here.

    8 days a week - The Beatles

Ok it's been just shy of 8 days but that's a 7 day work week done.and it's been full on. Couple of days off now with the yoofs before back to it later in the week. I am shattered I have to admit and have done precisely zero exercise which always makes me feel rubbish. Back on that particular wagon tomorrow I think.

I need to properly consider SIM only deals in the next week - I'm away with work when my contract runs out so not quite sure whether to enable the switch when I'm back or before I go. I think I'm closer to making a decision about the gym too (will.need to cancel at the beginning of next month if I'm leaving) but that does feel a massive thing.

Pay day seems a long 10 days away and I'm not sure why really - there's enough for groceries, little bit of fun and a family birthday (presents budgeted for). Maybe just tiredness creeping in I hope - I'm too early on in the debt busting mission to get too world weary.  Must keep thinking postive thoughts Moriarity.

I'm sure this is just a blip due to being tired. I've been knocked out of my routine and I haven't been able to get any exercise plus, things haven't got done so this morning the day feels like if will be a long one. I do know I will bounce back and so will you.

Here's to finding the motivation and a good week ahead.

Dream a little dream - Mamas and Papas

Thanks @Cara_ i defo needed that boost this morning. It's not helped by seeing loads of people I know being away with their kids this week for half term - due to work it wouldn't have been an option for us anyway and envy is the thief of joy I know but still ...... We do have some nice things planned for later in the year, so I shall cling onto those thoughts. The debt repaying days wont be forever.

We had a quiet pottery day today - did lots of baking (which amuses me as I am definitely NOT a natural or talented baker) which youngest yoof seemed to really enjoy. Got caught up on some usual household chores and a bit of a reorganise in the yoofs bedrooms, fortunately no fumigation required in the teenager's room.

A NSD which is always pleasing although the manicness of last week has caught up with both myself and the youngest so we've had an early night with a few snuggles. Planning a bit of a jaunt out tomorrow which is likely to cancel out today's NSD but there's some wiggle room in the budget for it.

Off to Dream about being debt free I think!

    Shoot to thrill AC/DC

chosen mainly as I'm mid dancing round the kitchen with the kids to this song   ... we had a Spoons meal whilst out and 3 drinks in the local whilst playing darts

I pinched 50 quid from my ef/savings to pay for today (bus fare, few necessaries from town purchased meant we were over my intended budget) and I may regret that tomorrow ..... but my word, time is sacred isn't it. I've blinked and my boys are almost all grown up and I nearly missed it. Spending time with them is the most absolute precious thing in the world. They loved today and so did I. Could have /should have been 50.quid spent elsewhere but I'd rather work extra weekends than to.take moments today.away from my kids. Just because I !!!!!! up shouldn't mean they miss out.

You've got to do some nice things too. It sounds like it was much needed and very much enjoyed.
I have a couple of half days off this week and they were going to be used doing other work or house work but I met my sister for lunch today.  It was nice to do something different.
I hope you're feeling better now, and out of that dip from the other day.

Sometimes blowing 50 quid on things we enjoy is needed to keep us going and expecially when it's time with those kids, like you say they do grow! My eldest teen is now knocking on 6 foot, still gives me a goodnight hug though!
