 Well done TC on reaching your target, an achievement indeed.

 So another year has passed and we have all enjoyed our travels on the EDT together. Thank you fellow passengers for your company and kindness, you are all just lovely. Where ever we are in the de cluttering journey our amazing Mrs SD is with us, what a special person you are Mrs SD. Thank you for helping to keep our journeys smooth.

 I will be on board next year. I like to think I have been in maintenance mode for several years but I have surprised myself with what has left the house this year. Most certainly much more than came in. I gave up counting as for me it was getting too important. I enjoy just now knowing I have less than even last week.
 Brace yourselves for the speed of the New Year EDT, see you all onboard next year. Vxxxx

Last post for this year then I'll move to the new thread.  Thanks to Mrs SD and everyone for their support and encouragement in my first year in my new home.  Time and money have gone quickly - building and decorating more slowly.  House is completely rewired, boiler replaced and it has new windows.  Two larger bedrooms replastered and decorated along with kitchen diner.  I have a small bedroom, lounge, bathroom/toilet and hall to do now as well as 90% of garden.  I need to make a plan and try to follow it.  First off I intend to finish the small bits uncompleted - ie skirting board in kitchen, some more furniture for bedroom 2 etc.  I have asked joiner for quote for more doors - half are changed to treated oak and 4 left to do.  Then I intend to empty and strip small bedroom used by DGS4 when he is here.  After that I will make a decision about bathroom and toilet.  Lounge has too much stuff but I am gradually reducing the clutter.  Photos and pictures still waiting for action in loft.  I chose a few pictures for bedroom 1 and need to think about bedroom 2 now.  Any framed pictures not used need to leave.  

I have emptied quite a bit out of fridge and you can see some shelf space.  Some things had to go but managed to make 4 containers of breadcrumbs from unused bread and rolls.  They have gone in freezer as some meat has gone over holiday.  Next year I need to cut down on groceries to avoid waste and diet starts seriously again tomorrow.  

There are meeting frogs looming which I intend to start on tomorrow along with some more electronic decluttering.  I'll also start putting Christmas things in boxes tomorrow.  Tree is being collected after 7th along with mattress from garage.  Garage needs a tidy but very little out there now.  Too cold today.  

I popped out with DGS4 so he could spend some of his Christmas money and I got some green veg for roast lunch at DS2's house tomorrow, milk and loo paper.  Resisted the urge to buy any other food.  I'll look at annual accounts tomorrow as well and try and set some targets I can achieve.

I made it to past half way.  Not ready to move to maintenance mode yet as there is still stuff to go.

2. Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m 
3. Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed

Wednesday is a bright sunny day with a high of 4°C & a low of 0°C so much chillier than yesterday 🥶 I can’t believe that we are already on the last day of 2025 😧 where did the year go? Still cheerleading posts dated the 29th so I will get going ………

D123456789, I absolutely love that your LO is so keen on decluttering 🥹 Great news that you pleased with your decluttering 👏 As to This “………..and LO has started making her own videos UTube style which is quite hilarious. (We don’t upload anything but she’s definitely got the knack) !” I cannot get over the fact that youngsters are not only so tech savvy but also so confident 🤩 

GrannyKate, the advantages of having a full fridge & freezer are that you have plenty of choice + you can save some money in January when funds are usually tight ☺️ A couple of lovely holidays to look forward to - Portugal and Madeira ☺️ Some great decluttering 👏

TC77, when I was deciding on a sub title the word ‘Redistribution’ sounded so positive (thanks again addacomment 😊) I do need to be brutal with my planner as it mostly contains programmes/series I have seen before 😬 but which hark back to the years of less swearing & sexual content. 

vulpix, so much for retirement and/or winding down 😉 Mind you if it keeps MrV happy it is definitely worth an unexpected outlay 🥹 Excellent decluttering especially of the ‘stuff’ that you weren’t quite ready to let go of in October 👏 I loved hearing This “Champagne flutes (second hand) Those that have known me for years will remember I sent almost all my glasses to the charity shop as I thought I wouldn't need them again. Well it turns out I missed hosting people.” 😊 I imagine it will be easier now that you are in a larger house 😉 Hope you had a lovely time with your DS & family & that your Mum was happy with her extra Christmas gifts of rich food 🥹

purplevamp, This “I actually read that as retribution and not redistribution 😆” had me laughing out loud 😂 although thinking about it ‘retribution against clutter’ could be quite cathartic 🙊 Well done to your DH for spending less than usual & also picking up bargain meat 👏 Hopefully with all that Christmas food still cluttering up your fridge/freezer the next couple of shopping trips will be cheaper 🤞 Great decluttering 👏 Good luck with your online competition entries & also your electronic decluttering 🍀

Well that went wrong, having knitted a dozen rows I realised that I had gone wrong so have spent more time unpicking rather than knitting ☹️ So will resume the cheerleading …….. still on the 29th

regnbue, I would hardly call buying something in a charity shop for the first time in 6 years anything like naughty 😉 More like a necessity 😁 especially as you made such cute purchases 😻 Excellent work decluttering nail varnishes 👏 & as you haven’t replaced them I am awarding you a medal🏅 As to This “I also decluttered a single red bauble to a friend.  I didn't think the cs would appreciate just one.  He has a 2ft artificial xmas tree but nothing on it.  His argument is "it's pre-lit" but not only is it never switched on but he hasn't pulled any of the branches down/out so it just looks like a big fir tree branch that's fallen off the back of a lorry.  At least now it has one adornment.” set me giggling 🤭 & I am finding it hard to stop 😂 At least he has shown willing 😉 Thank you for lovely compliment ☺️

686) Big jar of ood Nutella from DDs uni days, disposed of and then recycled
687) toilet roll set with bits missing-remaining bits into recycling
688) small empty sauce pot out of the fridge-recycling.
689) item sold on V
690) huge amounts of cardboard out and sorted ready for recycling tomorrow
691) repurposed a box of chocs for another present as I’m not a huge fan of chocolate and they would still have been there at Easter

Cannot think of anything else although I’m sure there is.
