Haven't been posting and not caught up yet. I donated my old Christmas tree to a care home for young people.
Three gifts have left the house already and another couple will be gone this week, which is good because my spare room has been taken over by them.
Tackling little bits now Christmas is almost here.September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x13 -

vulpix, unfortunately I have many OATs 😞 Excellent work with the decorating 👏 Pleased to hear that the new wiring is complete 😊 I hadn’t realised that the window-seat was annoying you so much 😬 Hopefully it won’t be too hard to take it out 🤞 Good luck with both the 24 hour ECG monitor & also emptying the boxes 🍀 Please, please take some time to rest in between all that work 🙏
London_1, you certainly kept DGS Jack busy over the weekend 😉 It sounds like your DD is enjoying living on the IoW just as much as you 🥹 Now that is what I call MSE - jigsaws being sourced from a CS, completed by you & then by children at DGS Jack’s school & completing their journey & being returned to a CS ☺️ Hopefully you enjoyed your afternoon of cribbage 😊
GrannyKate, sounds like you & the family had a wonderful time on Sunday ☺️ Excellent decluttering especially the digital decluttering 👏 Shame about the jigsaw 🙁 especially as they are supposed to be fun rather than a chore 😞
Muddy_Walker, you have been busy 👏 Fingers crossed that work isn’t too busy 🤞😉
Lovely tree purplevamp ☺️
Oops just noticed the time 😬 so off to bed. Sleep tight 😴

Hi! Bit of a daft time to join a year long thread but I'm essentially place marking for 2026 😊.
Need to declutter my house and my mind, and make some £ in the process.
I have 2 bags for the CS to go out this week, and I need to take some books back to the library today. Not sure if I will achieve much else but it's a start!Unsecured debts total -

Many thanks for your kind word @vulpix, 3 bags left to go. Have been some really good ones this year where I’ve found them more specific and less generic. Did a bag for a 98 year old who had requested whisky and good quality crisps!Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good morning chums ,just
DD Tess went off to craft club this morning. I put a big wash on and decluttered the washing basket at least
Then I was decluttering some bags of wool to take to the CS tomorrow in Ryde before I go to Knit and Natter.
There is a Friends of the Animals shop in the High Street there that has lots of craft odds and ends so I like to drop a few bits off there, and usually find something for DDs craft trolley
I did find some lovely dark red velvet ribbon in one of the wool bags upstairs this morning, and gave it to DD as she had made and decoupaged two screw top jars, and filled with little girly bits for my Great Granddaughters Erin and Ida whom we will be visiting just before Christmas.
She's made a lovely job of these jars, she's used some sea glass to decorate and also some shells she found on the beach that she's painted and varnished. We are into recycling as much as we can, and the jars were ex pasta sauce jars
thoughly washed out and just the right size .
The ribbon I cut into four as the little girls both have long hair, and my granddaughter plaits their hair for school every morning so this pretty red velvet ribbon will look good.
I said to DD I can't remember how long its been tucked away at the bottom of one of my wool bags (I do have a great deal of various bags of yarn )
She said I remember you buying this ribbon years ago when Katie was small (thats her eldest daughter, my great granddaughters Mum) Apparently I bought it at one of the Alexander Palace Knitting shows literally over 25 years ago. I had bought a couple of yards off it from one of the stalls. Then used some of it to decorate one of Katies dolls, and the remainder has been sitting in the bag ever since
It, once cut into four will now make lovely bows for their plaits, and being red with both having white blonde hair will look quite pretty I think
The outside of the jars she has wooden letters on, whith each of their names spelt out glued to them and lots of decorated bits all around them, even two small holly leaves on each she cut from an old christmas cards.
The girls have other presents as well, but these were just nice little tree presents which cost very little but time to make
Last year I knitted 5 outfits each for their Barbie dolls and put them in pretty boxes as their little tree presents
Its lovely because the little girls seem to really enjoy stuff thats been made for them personally.
I now have a bag of wool thats too dark to use on my charity blankets, plus some books to go to the CS tomorrow.
Right I'm hoping the washing machine has finished and I get it all out and sorted, I'm trying to keep the washing down as much as possible, as in a few weeks time all four of my grandsons will be desending on us for Christmas so the house will be full of extra washing and coats and shoes and what seemed like a decent sized house will shrink with all the extra stuff
The boys will probably go fishing, so we will have to get the gear down from the loft rods etc and waders.
I have a list of to-do things already and that includes baking biscuits and sausage rolls for four huge young men who are like a plague of locusts when it comes to eating ,nothing like Mum and Nanny's home cooked food
Today my eldest is 58 and she will be phoning me imminently as its almost her lunchtime She lives in the Medway still, but I shall see her when DD and I go up there for the day on the 22nd.
December is a very busy month, and I've just looked at the calender and after a few quiet days this week its going to be a lot of rushing around.Still its nice to have them all around ,even though they tease the life out of me
Onwards and upwards chums

Tuesday: was a lovely bright, crisp & dry morning with fluffy clouds in a blue sky 🙂 although it did feel cold despite a forecast of high 11°C & low 7°C with no wind. I was actually up & dressed before noon 🤞I had my cuppa & then headed out as I needed a supply of Christmas cards. Left the house 13:15 but had to wait 10 minutes for a bus to CW ☹️ First stop was the bank - banked last month’s PB cheque. Then popped into M&S Food hall to buy a couple of tins of biscuits as Christmas presents for DH & DSis + some Turkish Delight. Last stop was Boots where I stocked on a few essentials. Had to wait 10 minutes for bus to Asda where I bought Christmas cards & treated myself to a pair of slippers (men’s) & a pair of cosy socks. Another 10 minute wait for a bus but was home by 15:50 having bumped into DH who was just returning from his walk. Dinner was sausages, mash, chopped tomatoes & baked beans. Wu & left to dry.
2223 - 2225 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, newspaper - recycled
2226 - 2229 Kitchen, lr, office & DSis bedroom detritus - binned
We had showers from about 17:00 which turned to a downpour at 19:00 & then rained on & off for the rest of the night. Finished knitting another hat see pic

Sleep tight 😴 Will catch up with the cheerleading & start writing Christmas cards tomorrow.
