Helloooooo!
the bedroom is almost finished!!!!!! Just got to clear the ironing and wax the new furniture then I can put bits in places. Still can’t get over how much stuff I got rid of. Some bits need to be reviewed and thought about…..clothes and jewellery.Don’t know if I said but I also tidied up my d sk area but not the actual drawer and tiny cupboard…..
Tree will be up soon but it’s treatment day tomorrow so that will have to wait for a wee bit.
MrsSD I forgot to thank you for my stars!
I have picked up the crochet this evening and did 2 rows of hubby’s scarf while listening to a podcast- true crime. I know how to relax!!
Almost all of the Christmas presents have been bought and once they are wrapped and cards written I can resort the paper and Christmas bags under the bed. Might try and put them in a vacuum bag thing…..!

You know what's said about best laid plans etc !
On Tuesday morning I woke up not feeling very well at all, and thought 'Oh No I don't need this right now' as I had such a busy day planned
I have lymphodema in my right arm a left over from Breast cancer in 2007 when my lymph nodes were removed to stop anything nasty speading. It left me with an oversized right large arm which doesn't work very well.
Now and again if I have picked up a germ or infection it swells up is bright red and looks like its on fire. I get very hot, and I get a nasty case of flu-like symptoms feverish, then shivery and feeleing dreadful, and very wobbley
Luckily I have to keep a course of strong anti biotics at home as all I can do is start taking them, and go to bed and rest until I start to feel better.
I did this on Tuesday afternoon and didn't venture downstairs for anything until tea time yesterday Only was up for a couple of hours, and then back to bed again.
I feel a little better this morning, but still very tired but my arm is a bit cooler at least .Strangly the palm of my hand is stil warm and I can't bear hot water on it so a very tepid shower was the last couple of days.
It feels like your arm has been burnt by the sun and it just won't work for a few days .I can't even get my protective sleeve on it just yet But its a pain really because I have so much to do and I hate inactivity.
No Knit and Natter yesterday obviously and I cant see me getting out before Saturday, I'm afraid I'm not a patient patient at all, and find it hard lying in bed I couldn't knit or even read as my eyes and everything else just ached .Third day today of anti biotics so I'm hoping things will improve a bit I'm typing this with one hand
DD has been very good in looking after me, although nagging me about eating as I also comletely lose my appetite on the anti bios. She says 'Mum you forget you are an octogenarian and you should slow down a bit'
I've never slowed down in y life I'm far too busy
I eventually managed a banana yesterday but it had very little taste at all.Its weird when you know you are eating it but can't taste anythingSo I suppose my decluttering has been one banana and lots of glasses of water to rehydrate. Teas or coffee has no taste either, but I have to keep rehydrated with water
But it will pass, and after 18 years its good that I know how to cope with it, I had to ring the Drs at tea time last night to tell them, and they put it on my records
I also had to re-order another course of tablets as if I don't have the course in my house it means I have to go into hospital on a drip for several days, and that really would drive me up the wall.
Plus its a waste of a bed for the NHS, so self medication at home is a lot cheaper option.
I phoned the surgery and spoke to a nice young man and explained my situation, and bless him he said no problem I'll have a word with one of the Drs and sort it out for you and ring you back
True to his word he rang back in 10 minutes and said the Dr had sent the prescription down to the on-site Boots dispensary, and my DD can collect a new course this morning to go back into the first aid box for when ever I need it next time. I'm lucky that the surgery is so efficient.
So no work to be done today which is a nuisance but fingers crossed by the weekend I'll feel better. (missed one of my Christmas markets as well
) Oh well can't be helped I suppose The only good thing was it was tipping down with rain on Wednesday so it saved me getting wet
Onwards and upwards chums

@Green_hopeful love the blind! Looks like sound waves to me, it was obviously meant to be that the fabric needed to go this way 😉
Have two big bags of puzzles to take to charity from my Ma (she has maaaaany more) and a heap more knitting stuffs.. 😮💨 I’m just glad she’s finally letting things go (& has expressed an interest in clearing more 🥳)!
Today I’ll be helping Ma#2 with a general clean/freshen up.Also have to drag my DS2 to the Bank.. 😑 Why do they ignore things till it’s dire .. (grumble.. nashing of teeth😬)🤞🏼things can be sorted without too much drama!🎄Our decorations are also up, needed some extra sparkle and cheer!🎄
Hugs 🤗 sticks 🪵 and spoons 🥄 for anyone in need!"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇🥇14 -
@London_1 - I hope you feel better soon and am so glad that you have your DD to look after you and provide some company.
@Muddy_Walker - You will soon be able to just enjoy your finished bedroom and feel proud of all the decluttering you have accomplished. I hope you can get some rest later today.@diminua - your decorations look lovely and very uplifting.@Green_hopeful - the blind looks fantastic! It was such a good idea to have the grain running the other way and save having a seam.@Mrs_Salad_Dodger - more beautiful knitting which I am sure will be loved by a new owner very soon. I am impressed that you are getting your wrapping done already!I find it hard that so much is coming in at the moment - presents. I am determined not to clutter up with Christmas food goodies though and just stick to homemade. That will use up whatever is in the cupboards. Mr MV will be unable to resist buying some things but that’s fine. At least it won’t be both of us doing it!12 -
@MadamMim2013 - wishing you good luck at the bank 🤞12

diminua, love your decorations.Have you made the lovely crochet star/snow flake?
Thank you green hopeful and purple vamp. I am not the best at IT I must admit. I have always wondered how on line pharmacy delivery is funded. I could and will loose several hours on that fabric site. My problem is I am used to the mill shop prices. Sadly the mill is due to close, one of the last few in England to be still producing I believe. They are out priced by goods from abroad.
Muddy, how lovely that you will be soon relaxing in your well deserved bedroom.
London1, sorry you have been poorly, I suppose the only saving grace is that you will be back on form for Christmas.xx
Passed on a carrier of blister packs yesterday and a magazine.
Little stool varnished but still some varnish left. Haha
Hairdresser just been, now to eat some little frogs. Mainly little things I have noticed that Mr V will do! eg high screw in carpet threshold thing from house rewire, bed slightly out of place, same, bring the vanity unit boxes upstairs, I am going to store them in the shower cubicle that we don't use,no room in the sheds. I am trying to clear the decks now so I can think about putting some Christmas decorations up.
Mr V has just put some flattened boxes in the loft, he says there is a bed up there, grrrr, also gnashing of teeth.
Have a lovely day everyone Vx:17
