Liverpool_Anne, an excellent days work on Wednesday 👏
Thank you oceanspirit 🙂 Keeping everything crossed that the latest round of tests will finally result in a diagnosis & a treatment plan 🤞
Green_hopeful I love the blind 🤩 & I think the pattern is better horizontally rather than vertically 😊
TC77, well done on the decluttering 👏 Pleased to hear that the heating has been sorted 😊 Re the carbon monoxide monitor can you get someone from the Fire Brigade round to change the batteries 🤔 Good luck with the work situation 🍀
vulpix, I just wish I had a bay window for Green_hopeful to make a blind for 🙊 There might be a few bits coming in to make your house into a home, but I imagine you are still sticking to your budget per room ☺️
Lovely to see you purplevamp 👋 Another one of our Declutterati family who is well organised ☺️
suzeesu2000, so organised 👏 Great work wrapping presents & sorting Christmas cards 🤩
diminua, I love that you have decorated the tomato plants ☺️ Thanks for the lovely photos 👏
I have caught up another page so am off to bed 🙂 Sleep tight 😴

Threw 3 ancient paint brushes in the bin. Found a home for all the paints and DIY stuff in the corner cupboard in the kitchen.
Emptied the contents of 3 banana boxes into the kitchen cupboards last night. It looks so much better in the breakfast bar area of the kitchen. A crate with a light fitting and a mirror ball needs to be found a home. Then that area is completely clear. I also emptied the unused shower in the bathroom to store the cloakroom vanity unit in. Found 2 boxes of decorative stuff and picture frames from the old house. Distributed some of it in the bedrooms and put the rest in a drawer for now! Mr V will take a lot of boxes to the tip on his way to work at 2pm along with an old metal curtain rail from the bay window.
I am just clearing the decks for Christmas. There are things that can go but they can wait till next year when I organise the cupboards properly.
Mrs SD, I am still recording what I spend on each room, though not including major works, just furniture and incidentals. The most expensive room so far is a spare room as we bought a new mattress for the gifted divan. There are 9 rooms which includes the hall and down stairs loo. I hope the average will be well under the £100 spend for each room. The cheapest is the other spare room at £15 for a poster and a globe lamp.
Today I will do some batch cooking, completely tidy the kitchen and do lots of laundry. If I have time or inclination I will move into the dining room where many projects are waiting to be done. At least giving away the big dining table has freed up some room.
At my last house I had the outside loo reinstated, so handy for when working in the garden for me, I didn't have to go inside and take my boots off etc. I imagine it would be an unpleasant experience if it was the only loo though.

Familam trip this morning to the large frozen food building for various cans of their fave fizzy (yuck 😵💫 not for me, dislike them all) and picked up a few supplies. So £ decluttered!Have taken some magazines to a friend for her kiddos to use for an art project.
Mojo has evaporated so this afternoon may well be spent on the sofa hiding under a giant fleece snoozing and grumpity-grumping at the rubbishy weather and TV.. 🤣
Ooooh & thankoo for my medal @Mrs_Salad_Dodger, have amended my sig to include it ☺️
Please accept some festive flowers 🎄🥀🎄🕊️in appreciation for all you do to keep us cheered all year round!"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇🥇12 -
Double ooh.. (brain is 🤯 today) @vulpix, I love that you keep track of what you spend on each room.. I have a book that covers decoration, what colour paint, how much used etc but hadn’t thought to take into account furnishings etc! That said, they are almost exclusively 2nd/3rd/5th hand items (except this years new mattress) so it didn’t seem worth noting..
We will be re-decorating in 2026 so I shall restart my notebook to include items as well, thanks for the inspiration ☺️"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇🥇13 -
A cleaning frog mainly done today - should be able to finish it tomorrow. As with most frogs, it was easier than expected.
Made a start on card writing and present wrapping. Have arranged for horrible rellie to come and fetch their present in plenty of time - I prefer to get it over and done with so I can enjoy the rest of Christmas.
Not sure about getting decorations up this year. There are higher priorities over the next couple of weeks and living room is not clean enough. Will see how things go this week as it would be nice to put a little bit of tinsel up if nothing else.

Forget to mention that it rained late Saturday evening. Sunday I was up early for me 10:35 😉 It is a dull dark day & has been raining. The forecast is for a high of 14°C (feeling 4° colder) & a low of 8°C with a high chance of more rain between 12:00 & 16:00 & yes it is raining 😉 I have been knitting whilst I wake up properly & have finished another hat.
Excellent work Muddy_Walker, you have been busy 👏 Another very organised Declutterati family member 😊 I paid particular attention to your signature & would like to congratulate on accomplishing so much in 2025 🥳🤩
Good decluttering TC77 especially the digital decluttering 👏
Yippee, starting on cheerleading for posts dated the 5th 🙂
BlueJ94, well done on being so organised for Christmas 👏
London_1, so sorry to hear that you woke up on Tuesday feeling so unwell 🤒 Sounds absolutely awful, so I am very relieved to hear that you are on the mend. Good job your DD is there to try & get you to rest 😉 Although This “I've never slowed down in my life I'm far too busy
” This “But its a pain really because I have so much to do and I hate inactivity.” & This “I'm afraid I'm not a patient patient at all” indicate that your DD will have a hard time getting you to rest 😉 Hopefully the antibiotics are working & you will be able to resume your activities at the start of the coming week 🤞 MadamMim2013, good news that your Mum appears to be ready to let you help her declutter 😊 Hope the bank visit with DS2 went well 🤞
Lovely cheerleading Moorviews ☺️ Fingers crossed that MrMV doesn’t pick up too many extra food goodies 🤞
Lovely post vulpix 😊 Good luck dealing with your little frogs or should that be tadpoles 🍀 Hopefully you can get the bed in the loft down easily & disposed of quickly 🤞
Organizing_Home, welcome aboard the EDT 👋 Sounds like you have made a good start on your decluttering journey 👏 Lovely to hear that you have already started noticing a difference 😊 I look forward to following your journey 🙂
I have caught up a little more but keep distracting myself by knitting 😉 Hope everyone had as good a day as possible & that all our poorlies are on the mend 🙏 Also a shout out to our Declutterati family members who might not have posted for a while - hope you are OK 🤗

Hello All, quick pop in to add 110 items to my decluttering total.
Bag of teddies donated, pots & oventrays to school mud kitchen. Uniform to school and toys / games to school fete and 2 parcels sold on vinted.
Feel a bit down with my decluttering attempts at the moment, not helped by a visit from my mum who declared the house the worse she had ever seen it. There seemed to be a lot of low level criticism and comments the whole weekend, even my OH noticed. Anyway I'm proud of me, I work full time, juggle family life whilst doing a project management qualification. We are all fed and clothed appropriately! The house could always be tidier and less stuff but I cherish making memories and my wellbeing first.
Hope everyone is ok and hugs to those who need them x

Decluttered the remaining fabric from the blind into two new blinds for the old bedroom. I used the old blind bars but had everything else from the garage. Not quite enough fabric for the length so i used some curtain weights for the bottom. They are funny little sausages of lead for weighting curtains that I haven’t used. Can’t even remember what I bought them for. Not added the cords yet because I need to decorate the bedroom before hanging them. Lots of cracks in the ceiling have put me off starting but I am going to colour drench it dulux vanilla white so at least it won’t be hard to touch up when it cracks in the summer heat.

@Green_hopeful I love the blinds and the room, very calm and tidy!
@Fizz2015 so sorry to hear about your weekend. I think you're amazing all you're doing, working full time and family life, never mind the qualification are demanding enough and making memories so much more important than being neat and tidy. Not sure with family life the latter is possible! Glad you're proud of yourself and I think criticisms are often more about the person giving them....
4 lots of work paper out this morning, 2 pairs of trousers and top in CS bag,
went to xmas band music this pm which was fun and then a drink and asked about NYE and have volunteered to have people round (hope will motivate me further).
Having seen the space maker abit and reading an organising solutions book for people with ADHD (undiagnosed but DD1 is, and says one of the many things inherited from me) which emphasis (as I know but need to be reminded) inventory needs to be reduced.... tidied tray I keep some face stuff/toiletries, it needed a wipe and then got rid of 3 items, and bits of rubbish (feels like more than I've listed), also a cardboard box I kept soaps in which is soggy and have put the soaps to be used up. - counting as 12
