Not able to put decorations up yet as where the tree should go I’ve still got a fridge freezer and other kitchen bits parked there!
Have put some smaller things out, new kitchen is looking festive with a small branched golden tree which lights up and batteries popped into a lantern this morning.More neutral items out.
Dun elm put a call out for generic items so I put together and dug out 21 items. Dropped off yesterday with 2 more Bags of Joy.=1244+23=1,267 neutral items out
50 Dun elm Bags of Joy completed and delivered so far.
Really hoping to do a tip run tomorrowDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Green hopeful, beautiful cat. ❤️
Happy Birthday Mr SD. Xxx
So, things didn’t pan out as expected zero boxes emptied as I had forgotten I had half undone the extension on the curtains. Fomo was so clingy so I sat and hand sewed one curtain and watched telly. Got the one curtain up at the front door. I will hand sew the other one tonight whilst Mr V is at work.Mr V currently in Nottingham to watch Nottingham Forest. DD1 due to come and help with wallpaper stripping any minute.I contacted a guy about clearing the front garden. Have a pic of my lovely garden. This is taken from my front door.I have brought a book case down from upstairs for the hall. It looks nice. The giant tool box is in the kitchen.Better press on, oh I use glass chopping boards. Have done for years after hearing a program on radio 4 about them.Vx

So true. It's been on since mid July. It's a lovely house, but I would like a bungalow now and a spare room for DH as he works from home and his "stuff" is in every room of the house. I need to contain him 😁.Moorviews said:@purplevamp - it isn’t a good time of year for house sales. At least it will give you a chance to relax over Christmas as being on the market is quite stressful.
I think it also went on at the wrong time due to the summer holidays, then it gets further down the list on Rightmove and people search for newest first mainly.

@purplevamp, eldest's partner has just put their house up for sale, their estate agent said the view within the profession is that buyers were waiting until after the budget to view properties.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Really? Not much help for me then now. I guess I'll wait until next year to see what we want to do. As we're porting our mortgage, we have to do this within 6 months of our fixed rate ending, which only gives us until Sept 2026.Floss said:@purplevamp, eldest's partner has just put their house up for sale, their estate agent said the view within the profession is that buyers were waiting until after the budget to view properties.Mortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £80,216.32 May 2037Swagbucks ~ £215 (2024 ~ £395)Surveys ~ £228.72 (2024 ~ £280.14)Make £2025 in 2025 #5 ~ £1,868.60 ~ (2024 ~ £2,561.04)11 -
Helloooooooo
bedroom looking much better much less of a tip and things are slowly being put into places. I have thrown 3 shoeboxes of cards except very special ones. Why was I keeping them all? I have no idea. And also several pairs of shoes that I just don’t wear. Hubby then informed me I have to take the shoes to the recycling place….so I had a mini strop at that! 🤔 over tired I think.
i also sorted out one of the kitchen cupboards that houses all our medicine…..yeah lots of that got chucked too!
bags of Christmas stuff now inside the wardrobe ready for wrapping. Will possibly do a couple more shelves in the wardrobe and then have a break from it all.
hope all are well xxxxx⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

That looks interesting Daisy. I like the OAT acronym. We couldn’t find the wallpaper stripper machine so we painted the feature wallpaper on the chimney breast. To date it has had 4 coats. It was dark blue with a white and black pattern. I will give it another coat or two tomorrow. The fake mahogany fire surround had a coat of emulsion as an under coat and so far one coat of a paint called Portland stone. The difference is stunning. The room looks bigger. I am pleased to have used up several bits of shades of white emulsion. We mixed them all together.I hand sewed the other curtain and put it up at the front door. A huge improvement. It looks so much more homely. The chasing from rewiring new wall lights has had an initial fill with filler. I will finish it tomorrow I will give it a bit of a tickle with the emulsion and hang some pictures over it.I want to tackle taking out the window seat next. Then I can think about some Christmas decoration.I have to have a 24 hour ECG machine tomorrow. I hope it doesn’t interfere with what I need to get done. The dining room needs a good tidy. Washing drying, everything dumped in there and it has been used as my work shop.I WILL try to clear the breakfast bar of the boxes of goodness knows what next week. Probably 10 boxes on there and 3 under it.Fomo is much less clingy thank goodness.Happy kitties, I know your generosity will be much appreciated. ❤️❤️
Need to go and move everything off the kitchen floor where I have been rooting through my tool box.Inherited kitchen bin given away on thrift today.Laters Vx:12 -

We've come to the end of our contract with the first EA. We're having a break over the Christmas period to see what we want to do and then possibly get another EA. Hopefully we'll find one that's good. Also, all the houses I've bookmarked have all gone!Floss said:
