Good afternoon chums ,just decluttered the last of my freebie Bramleyapples that I was given, and made a nice crumble for pudding tonight.
DD and son-in-law went food shopping to the big Tesco's yesterday and got two large lamb shoulders for the price of one as they were on the offer.I think they must be clearing out to make room for frozen turkeys
One went in the freezer for when four of my grandsons come at Christmas, and the other one is for dinner tonight with left over meat to make a Shepards Pie for during the week. My DD says I'm ace at stripping the joints (years of practice I think)
We only live about a mile from Westridge Tescos at Elmfield, just outside of Ryde so its handy that its not far to go . Apparently there is planning permission been given for an Aldi there, so that will save the journey to Lake.
@soontobeoapCowes is a lovely spot and I love the High Street there,my late OH was born and brought up in Northwood just outside Cowes, and all his family were from the Northwood /Gurnard area.I go there occassionally as the family history place is there in the grounds of the cemetary and the Friends of Northwood Cemetary have coffee mornings on Saturday, and lots of things going on jigsaw and book sales, and also many Christmas things its very socialble, and lots of folk from the area go.
I know it sounds odd but they ever have walks around and the grounds have some amazing birds, red squirrels, flora and fungi there.
I like The Butchers Shop in the High Street at Cowes as he now closed the Newport branch, so although its a trek from Ryde I do try to buy our sausages from him as they are gorgeous.
I was going to go for a wander down to Appley Beach this afternoon but it keeps spitting with rain, so I shall not bother. Tomorrow DD and I are going to The Range at Cowes and will definitely declutter some cash there as they have a good sale on and their Sicilian lemon candles are fabulous, and start at really reduced prices at the moment,
Right well time for a cuppa,
Happy belated birthday to Mrs SD I hope you were spoilt dreadfully

Afternoon all. Had to drop DS2 off in Lincoln yesterday lunchtime so I stopped off at big antique centre on the way back up the A15. I treated myself to a nice lunch (curry and chips) and then spotted two kitchen stools - beech with woven sets - £39 the pair - in excellent condition and exactly what I had been looking at one line at £70 or so each. I also bought some small Poole pottery plates only 4 inches or so across but in the brownish colour I have for curtains in bedrooms - small etched pictures of puppies and kittens. I got 4 and am using them for coasters on the bedside tables. I did throw some old faux plastic ones away. I also bought a few postcards with family history connections. On the way back I called into Mr M to get the Christmas jumper for DGS4 - I had sent him a photo beforehand to make sure he liked it.
Got up very early to go for head MRI at hospital. Not the most pleasant experience - good job I don't have claustrophobia. Results take 4 weeks bot hopeful no problem as it was just a precaution because I am only deaf on one side. Unfortunately I was a bit distracted and think I may have acquired a speeding ticket from one of those vans on the way back. I am usually very careful. Went shopping with DS2 at Mr S and got several of those cheap meat joints for the next few Sundays and Christmas. All in my outside freezer. Called at another shop to get seat cuchions for my new to me stools. Spoke to DD on her way to airport for work trip and she texted later to let me know she had just realised two of the stones from her engagement ring were missing. I hope she can find them at home.
Not doing much today and no rush to get up tomorrow.

Sunday continued: DH & I have each had a bowl of hm soup - a bit spicy but very hearty & warming 😋 I also got around to folding & putting away the newly washed & dried laundry 🙂 Now starting the cheerleading for posts dated the7th:
Liverpool_Anne, with all that is going on in your life, I am not surprised that you haven’t had time to keep up with the thread 😌 I on the other hand have no excuse other than that my mojo has gone on an extended holiday, might even have emigrated 😂 Great news that the current round of building work is finished 👏 Although not completed as quickly as it should/could have been, the bright side to your enforced confinement to your home has meant that you have had time to think about & plan your next project 😉 Very pleased to hear that your social life is in full swing 🥹 The afternoon tea sounds especially lovely ☺️ Meanwhile some excellent decluttering 👏 sailing past the next milestone & earning yourself a Gold Star ⭐️ which is on its way 🙂 Hopefully now the building work is complete you can relax & enjoy the peace & quiet at least until next year 🙏
Lovely post vulpix 😊 Absolutely loved This “ I was talking to Mr V's mate yesterday about moving. He said the best advice he ever had was from his removal man. Make 3 piles. Needed, possibly needed and rubbish. Throw the rubbish out then throw the possibly needed out too!” 😹 Very brave if one could do that 😉 As to This “I honestly thought we were not keeping any excess stuff at the last house. I think I had done my Mothers trick and stored it very well. There are still boxes of stuff not yet unpacked. I have no idea what it is. Obviously it isn't important. There are plenty empty cupboards in the kitchen. I will see if I can fill them and get rid of the boxes next week.” do remember to keep one cupboard empty 😉 as it is always gratifying to open an empty cupboard 🙊 The relief that I felt when R loved his rainbow hat, was almost palpable 😮💨 He is a very ‘particular’ 7 year old with a strong personality 🥹
oceanspirit, excellent work dealing with frogs, reducing the reading pile & keeping control of the number of emails 👏
GrannyKate, excellent work tidying & decluttering your desk 👏 Thanks for the pics which reminds me that when my mojo returns from its extended sabbatical, I need to get into the habit of taking before photos prior to decluttering 😅 I live in hope that my mojo will return 🙊 Fingers crossed that you get a few more tomatoes 🤞 All in all some excellent decluttering 👏
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 So pleased to hear that the rearrangement of DD’s room has worked ☺️ I will keep my fingers crossed that your kids let you declutter a decent amount of stuff before Christmas 🤞
Lovely post Brie ☺️ How lovely that your OH made his own birthday dinner 😉
CRANKY40, excellent work in DS’s room with some great decluttering 👏
suzeesu2000, a great idea to get all the bills paid at the beginning of the month 👏 then at least you know where you stand 😮💨 Excellent decluttering 👏
A perfect place to stop for a while as I have finished the cheerleading to the end of the 7th 🥳 + I need another cuppa 😉 See you later 👋

So yesterday and today i sieved the contents of two compost bin and one of last year’s bags of leaves and bagged them up ready for use. Some of the compost was super dry after our dry summer so I have left the bags open so hopefully they get a bit wetter. While at the bottom of the garden I remembered that we had some hoggin from my old house (which i sold in 2017). I decluttered four holes in the gravel driveway with hoggin and gravel i sieved out of the leafmould.I baked the quinces and peeled and chopped them up into the freezer, whilst making the Christmas cake and Delias cranberry mincemeat. We tested the mincemeat with some apples to make crumble. I love mincemeat.6

Just a quick check in today as I'm not feeling very well. I already was fighting off some cold/cough/sore throat virus and had the flu jab on top, so am attempting to rest. A few bits to declare as gone, although I have to admit it is getting really hard to find anything to go now as it is either all used or is a small stock of things to work through over time. I have to admit to re-cluttering some free puzzles from Buy Nothing, but it's nice to do a puzzle on a dark autumn/winter evening and I lend them out to my mum when I've made them. I like to keep a good stock of them otherwise I get bored making the same ones all the time.DD's room is looking really good and less cluttered now. She just needs to check if there's anything to go, then go through the never ending pile of pictures. DS's room is still always messy, but slightly controlled as he has to tidy up one area every day. I'm thinking of caving and getting him some under bed storage boxes that he can throw all his tat into it so I don't need to look at it all. Might be a trip to Ikea if I can face it.@2Scratters Sorry about your dad - I've popped a spiced orange cake in the tlc carriage and reserved the first piece for you.Digital:New total 5,354

Decluttered 2 big bags to Foodbank.
Then decluttered THREE hours on the phone with DNeice - she has been doing family tree almost as long as me. She had a few mistakes and missing people so we had lots of laughter putting it right. We are the same age, went to school together and have been great friends for 55 years.
Washed big thick towels, don’t think they will be going on the line as it’s forecast to rain.
Didn't do a roast today as tummy wasn’t happy so had some fish fingers instead. DH had curry from freezer.
Thanks @London_1 about Tesco legs of lamb, will look for them now.
Just listening to the rain, so soothing. I really do love autumn and winter.
Have a good night all, sweet dreams xx
