Morning All, OH due back late afternoon. So will try to get the house shipshape to some extent. Nothing I can do about my floor'drobe, apart from confiscating my bankcard and banning me from shops!
A local carboot is going ahead so going to visit to establish if worth doing a future one there. Will then cobble together a roast dinner for tonight with meat and gravy from the freezer. Determined to declutter the freezers so I can defrost them.
Gave a good day all.

2 snap down bin lids decluttered. It has been a long time since they closed. They look better without them and still do the job. One of DHs bowls bags has finally bitten the dust. I am quite pleased as when he started he didn't like using the one I had bought him on wheels but now he has finally admitted that the carry one is quite hard work. 🤣. Also an old handbag and the rubbish that was in it. Also cleared a couple of shelves. I am calling that a quarter bin bag to round up my totals. At the same time I sorted some more bits for a car boot sale in September.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

I am up for everyday tiara wearing. I saw an elderly lady on a cruise with one, she looked remarkably like Camilla ! Who knew she would slum it on a cruise round the Med. Not wanting to start a rumour but she was partnered by another bloke.
I am fully on board with the would I pay someone to move this to a new house idea and also is it fair to leave this for my relatives to deal with when I croak. We will be taking less to our next house than we brought with us to this one, and as I unpack I will pass on anything not needed at the new house. The exception being furniture as the new house is bigger. I must say that everything I do I can only do because Mr V does the donkey work for me. I am the brains, he is the brawn.
Although my Mother hasn't croaked, clearing her house was tough. 65 years of frugal living and saving for Justin, She isn't a hoarder, everything was neatly stored, but so much of it was either defunct or deteriorated beyond use.I have inherited the trait of not wasting things but I would never leave such a mammoth job for my kids. My Mum's mistake was not sorting it out whilst she was physically able to. At 90 she just washed her hands of it all ! I will be as disabled as my Mum with arthritis so I will keep on top of it so as not to give my kids a several months long headache. The kids all live away so they wouldn't be able to put the effort in that we did to empty the house. It's the disposing of stuff responsibly that takes the time.
Another box filled with Mr V's stuff. A tie to go. We need more boxes now. Upstairs has fit into 12 banana boxes so far and a couple of bin bags for spare room bedding.Perhaps another 2 or 3 boxes will do it and the upstairs is packed. The hanging clothes in the wardrobe can go in suitcases when they come down out of the loft.
Heard through the grapevine that my Mothers house should complete in 2 weeks. Don't know if that can happen as My Mother is still living off grid as far as the solicitor is concerned. More phone calls to make on Monday. I shall be so glad when my Mothers house is finally gone and I am not expected to deal with it anymore. But... I will have to empty my workshop! Our house should complete mid September, I was expecting Mother's to be after ours. It seems like we will have to live with a lot of furniture in our sitting room for a while.
Better get on and do something other than snuggle with Fomo.

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Saturday: finally got up at 14:00 having had 5.5 hours sleep with just one bathroom visit 😊 A fairly reasonable day weather wise with some although only a high of 21°C, low 14°C & forgot to note humidity. Forgot to mention that DH returned the BP monitor to the hospital on Friday. DH zizzed some worm food + filled the bird feeders + When he went for his walk he took the bag of used coffee pods with him, popping into A*da, printing off an address label & then putting into the Drop Box 🥳 I made a bolognaise sauce which I served with conchiglie for DH & DSis whilst I had the salmon fillets (which I had defrosted for Friday) accompanied by boiled potatoes, cauliflower & broccoli 😋 There was enough bolognaise sauce two more 3 person meals & this was bagged & frozen + I sliced up the rest of the beef (11 slices) which is also in the freezer. Another lazy day for me spent watching TV, reading & doing Sudoku puzzles. Fell asleep on the sofa but managed to get to bed earlier 06:30 & woke up 13:00 with just the one bathroom break - it would appear I am not drinking enough during the day 😞 News from France is not quite so good as nephew’s dad required an operation to fit a drain in his head as the induced coma wasn’t quite enough to continue reducing the swelling 😢 An hour long operation & now the wait & see starts 😢 His wife still hasn’t visited, although his sister will be arriving with her husband on Monday.
Sunday: a dull overcast day with a high of 24°C, low 14° & humidity 70%
I have fallen behind with the cheerleading so need to pull my finger out. Relieved to see that nannywindow posted yesterday on the Daily thread although she is having a bit of a torrid time 😞 DH has had a spurt of activity - fed the worms, filled the bird feeders & changed the water in the bowls. Now in the garage putting a protective seat cover on the Goldwing.
London_1 sorry to hear that the storm hit so hard on Thursday night & ruined your hairdo……twice ☹️ This “…..the meal was lovely and Mikey plowed through the biggest mixed grill I’ve seen. I swear that boy could eat for England and there’s not an inch of fat on him it’s so unfair 🤣🤣🤣” did make me laugh 😅 followed closely by the thought that I would probably have put on 5lbs just looking at the meal 🤣 Sounds like the first time family meeting with Ben’s girlfriend Imogen is going really well 🥹 High praise indeed from his brother & his dad ☺️ She sounds absolutely lovely & perfect for Ben 🥹 Hope the weather stayed fine for yesterday’s tour around the island 🤞
YBR, your moving date is coming around quickly 😊 but it sounds like you are doing really well with the packing 👏 Fingers crossed your new house has a faster internet connection 🤞
TC77, it was a good sleep 😉 Good work reducing stationery 👏 although a bit of a shame about the sharpie 😕
florianatwobob, sounds like the museum aren’t taking any chances with the Cartier Exhibition by having it in the vaults 😉 Nothing wrong with wearing an understated tiara during the day & bringing out the ostentatious one for the evening 😂
oceanspirit, nice to hear that your OH enjoyed his time away 😊 Also nice to hear that you managed some relaxing time reading in between cleaning, tidying & decluttering ☺️
QueenJess, This “Got woken up this morning by DD coming in saying "I don't want this anymore". She then wanted to declutter her room, but I needed to do the food shop. By the time I got back she'd filled up a couple of boxes of things she doesn't want anymore, so that will be my job to sort through for later. Clearly holidays have the same effect on her as me. DS on the other hand is delighted to come back and be with all his stuff 😆” absolutely delighted me 🥹 I am so impressed with your DD that I am awarding her another medal 🏅 now she just needs to train her brother 🤭
So much for catching up with the cheerleading - I have come to a grinding halt so will post this & try to locate my mojo 😉 before I fall further behind 🤞I hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday & that the weather is being kind 🙏 See you later 👋

@vulpix, my dad's house sounds like your mum's with nearly everything labelled but so much, lots of car, carpentry , boat, gardening stuff as well as an interest in everything.he was a scientist but loved the arts and music and literature, and upholstered and repaired things ( later he kept them to repair but couldnt)
Listening to videos I've decided I just don't want the responsibility of looking after anything else . Dd1 says she'll go to we buy at s***.come when I go although trying to point out some things worth more than 50p!
Spent an hour deleting things off my phone as it says not enough storage to take a photo of something.... deleted so much but made no difference.
Found some weekly planner sheets dd2 left behind so recycled weeks gone and will see if it helps me.
I think the what would I take if I move is good but if no immediate plans then my thought is ' I'll keep x for best for when I move and make do with y,or this could still be useful before then.
1441 as some papers out, a couple of textile recycling things, random tops of bottles which I don't appear to have and the pens etc mentioned in last few days.
I thought inad to buy another glasses case and then found one left by dd2 so have claimed. Finally planted out some plants into pots!0
