Be careful what you wish for when asking children to keep an area clean. My mother was very insistent that I had to clean up my closets. I did - even numbered the boxes with a list of what was in each one. To this date my closets are very neat. The rest of the house is a disaster.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m 
3. Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed

Tuesday: A duller, cooler day with a high of 22°C & a low of 15°C, humidity 55% After yesterday’s busy afternoon I have retreated into sloth mode 😂 However DH has had a spurt of activity 😉 You might remember that a few days ago I mentioned that he had repaired his office chair. DH has moved on from that & decided that he will treat himself to a new chair, which has been ordered. The old chair has been dismantled & is in the Tip pile. He has also cut up a broken plastic water pellet gun which is also in the Tip pile. In another development DSis had decided to swap out her double bed for a single. The boxes containing the new bed & mattress were delivered a couple of weeks ago & have been sitting downstairs. DSis wanted to sell the double bed but has after much persuasion from my DH agreed to donate it to a CS, together with one of the swivel chairs she brought over from France in 2018 🥳 As I was feeling a bit guilty about being so slothful I sorted out the corner of the kitchen by the door. Moved everything out, swept the floor & then boxed up a load of bits that belonged in the shed (where they are now), binned half a dozen manky cloths & sponges (no idea why I kept them) & have asked DH to source some hooks to hang up a couple of colanders. DH is ordering pizza for tonight’s dinner. Had some rain finally at about 20:30 & still raining at 21:40. Wudupa.

Dizzycap, excellent work getting so much laundry done 👏 especially as it sounds like most of it was for babyface 😉 she is a hard taskmaster 😂 As to This “……I can hear something moving about in the house. So off I crept to take a look and there was Missy doing fruit loops around the bedroom in excitement about going out! I stood there and said, "I thought you had a pulled muscle Missy?" She froze, quickly thought about it, and dropped to the ground with her back left leg sticking out!  😆😆 Errrr I don't think so! I haven't laughed so much in ages & it was well needed - typical Daxie clown 😆😆” had me in absolute stitches 🤣 A medal 🏅 is on its way - combination of dealing with the laundry & sharing this story 😊  Good luck with the last of your listings 🍀

He has been yearning for a shipping container for years but we just haven't had suitable space.” just more evidence of what a lovely lady you are 🥹

Morning All. Yesterday had rain all day and loved it, was so refreshing. Car had MOT and service and went to a colleague's big birthday lunch in a lovely Portuguese restaurant. Also going out tonight to celebrate her official birthday, DD and OH are also coming. 

I forgot to declare some cluttering last week, 500 emails removed from my inbox and 5 pillows / cushions put into collection/recycling box in the home store.

I'm working from home today and aim to pick 3 rooms and declutter 10 items from each and keep repeating. Will report back on my progress.

Clandestine decluttering report!

A year ago when we were getting our kitchen done, we 'temporarily' moved lots of kitchen stuff in boxes to the cellar, including ambient food. I only moved back what I needed and a year later that stuff was not looking good. 

I have rescued a honey and a truffle marmite that should be fine. The rest just got binned. Had to wait until there was light in the cellar and the binmen are due from 7am onwards so that has left me with a very small window. But it's done!

55 fewer items in the house. Total now 228.

Quick post as busy week.  So glad weather has cooled down.  DS2 and family off on holiday for two weeks on Saturday.  I have a long list of things to catch up on.  I am hoping builders will come to start on bedroom 2 but they are very vague about it.  DS2 to help clear the room before he goes away.

612 Emails cleared

615 Collection of stuff to tip including ink cartridges
616 Old damaged kitchen worktop saver binned - new one bought
617 Very old scratched carving board binned - new one bought
618 Set of plastic chopping boards binned - new one bought
619 Jumper binned (large hole in shoulder)

621 Top binned as had damage from bleach
622 Outdoor extension lead to recycling - had it for years and it keeps cutting out - new one bought
623 Some rather large bills paid off for work in house
624 Appointment arranged for blinds to be measured and fitted in kitchen
625 Free shop coat hangers replaced with some non slip ones.  

As you can see I went out and bought various items yesterday.  I am revisiting new kitchen cupboards and drawers to line them and 
at the same time I am checking for anything which needs to be replaced and anything that can go in CS bag. Hairdresser this morning then nothing much until Friday when my kitchen and bedroom 3 door are being replaced. 

Sox has been very friendly since I got back and sat on me for half an hour last night.  He finally slept just for 15 minutes in cat bed I bought when I got him 6 months ago.  He also found a 'comfortable' and cool unused planter in the garden during the very hot weather.

A productive start with car full of stuff to tip after hairdresser but I then fell asleep for 2 hours once I got back.  Sox only had that one short nap in the cat bed - when I woke up just now he was also asleep but stretched right out across my bed.
