@Liverpool_Anne. Such dreadful scenes in Liverpool last night. I hope you and yours are safe. Hugs and thoughts with you xx15

Hi all - not much physical decluttering - more jobs done. I decided to tackle the oven yesterday - I had four different oven cleaning products in the box I ended up with when I sorted all the cleaning kit. Not perfect but it does look really good although it took most of the day. Not sure I have all the shelves in right - will seek a second opinion when DD or DIL are here. Weather a bit strange - I didn't go out much at all over the weekend - just dropped DS2 and family off a couple of times so they could have a drink and taxi back. New freezer arrived - very nice delivery team so I gave positive feed back. Fits perfectly as planned. Finished washing all the throws in lounge so hopefully dust free. Carpet spot cleaned in lounge and looks a lot better. This will be the last room to be done so carpet needs to at least look respectable.
Need to chase up missing tradespeople this week. Garden visit this afternoon and lunch group tomorrow although they are meeting at place very close to my house so I can walk round.
510 Railcard renewed - used some Tesco rewards to get £5 off but I rarely shop there now. I will have saved the cost of the railcard just on my one trip booked for Edinburgh next month.
511 Increased monthly payment for power - I have been using up a substantial credit over the last 6 months but that is down to £50 now so I need to build it back up a bit before winter
512 Cooker cleaned - products used up
513 Shelf to recycling. Random unfixed shelf in small bedroom. Mr Sox evidently decided to sit up there with predictable results - fortunately only soft toys fell to floor with cat and shelf itself.
514-515 Both lawns cut and grass to recycling bin
516 New freezer in place and packaging taken away
517 Lots of paperwork done and emails answered
Right I'm off to get some food for new freezer, check up on last bits of kitchen work, do some more paperwork and check out some other things.
Hugs to everyone who needs one2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Duchess2 said:@Liverpool_Anne. Such dreadful scenes in Liverpool last night. I hope you and yours are safe. Hugs and thoughts with you xxWe have started on the loft. Mostly because we needed to look for something! Never mind, we have a pile to go to the RC but couldn’t find what we were looking for. That’s how bad it is.I also cleared and vacuumed the bottom of two wardrobes while looking for a pair of favourite sandals. Successful, plus found a bag of old medication to go off to the chemist. There were some trousers which fit Mr MV perfectly so I don’t know how they ended up scrumpled down there. Everything tidied and put back. I bundled a load of dry cleaning bags neatly together but they can probably go as they seem superfluous to our current situation.15

I did a few specific bits and bobs yesterday* We went through the DVDs and have some to go in the yard sale, and some to watch then decide.* Similarly we've pruned the collection of re-usable water bottles down to what we actually use.* I've also moved a chair and a pressure washer we intend to sell to the yard sale piles, and tidied the boxes so they stack to make space for more!* DH has made a list of prices for the tools he doesn't want to keep. I'm happy to let stuff go for nothing 'cos I just want to get rid, but some items do have value!
* I've also de-cluttered the shelves in the utility so I can see what cleaning stuff we have,* Also decluttered/tidied paints and craft stores, so maybe 2/3rds are in the boxes they can move in - some poster paints and brushes will go to toddler group as the removals companies don't want to move paint, so that's boxed and put aside.* bottom two shelves of "craft storage" are now boxes and packing materials to use for moving.* and finally, I sewed a couple of "I was there" badges from NT Calke Abbey onto camp blankets - first time in 25 years I've seen their shop stock fabric badges so definitely nice to pick them up on what might be our last visit there.Decluttering awards 2025: 🏅🏅🏅⭐️ ⭐️, DH: 🏅⭐️ and one for Mum: 🏅13 -
Hi all, thank you @Duchess2 and @Moorviews for your thoughts. As far as I know everyone I know is ok. I was no where near the incident and didn't know anything about it until OH texted me to check I was ok. I did go to the parade but I was much earlier in the route as I know from experience how mad it gets at the end and I decided to head home and watch that bit on the tv 😁. OH was at the other house with the electrician and is still there today so hopefully a few other things have been done.
Very little decluttering has been done over the weekend due to all the football related activities but it was planned so I am not beating myself up about it.
It is a grey rainy day here so I will find something to do inside, the list is endless 😁
Hugs to everyone who would like one

My nephew's dog (18 month old crack house rescue*) has managed to declutter part of the book my OH was reading and had left on a side table. We had been warned.... He also managed to declutter a small portion of butter and smashed the plate it was on the other day. Being part yellow lab he is both congenial and has a good reach.
*nephew is an animal control officer and was sent into the crack house ahead of the police as they knew there was a dog there and no one knew what it would be like. He's actually a lovely pup but possible a tad brain damaged from having eaten drugs that were left lying about when scavenging for food as he wasn't being fed. Nephew really bonded with him and so Bennet is now part of the family.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @Brie - so nice that your nephew could rescue Bennet. Do you keep a large bowl of dry dog food down for him most of the day? He might still be trying to look for food for awhile. It will take time for him to get used to regular meal times.16
