Floss said:@florianatwobob it's a difficult one, but my personal view is better to know & mitigate and prepare than be unknowing. At least this way there are things that can be done to help mitigate the situation. I already have a genetic testing referral being processed to see if I’m ‘faulty from conception’ too. In many respects we’re actually fortunate as this fault affects 1 in 400 but only 5% of the population know that they have this flaw in their DNA and as there are 4 or 5 genes that the mutation can occur on so far we have the least troublesome one!
So whilst it’s not good news it could be far far worse right now.

Lovely visitor to your garden Mrs SD.
Young woman came and picked up jug and six glasses early this morning, lovely vintage turquoise ones but I have many others. Also sold a never worn jumper and will package and post.
My cousin came round for nearly 6 hours, went through jewellery and have pile to see if DD2 wants any (know dd1 won't) and some for CS (will count when in the CS bag as want to put earring pairs in little bags to stop everything getting tangled with necklaces and rings). several shirts and trousers for DD2 to have first refusal.
Jacket, fleece, jumper, blouse, book in CS bag.
Have identified where I want to put pictures up - as piled in rooms - and found 6 or 7 to put in my bedroom which is currently very dreary. Hopefully these will go up in the next week or two.
Counting those things which went into CS bag or taken or packaged up.
so 14 counting package.
Importantly made a plan of what will go in which cupboard/desk. When DD2 goes abroad her study/airing room will become a craft room with my sewing machine and maybe I'll do some crafting and get through supplies.
Found cupboard to keep cameras/photography things - this will be something to do over a few months!13 -
Good evening. Feeling a bit better with myself this evening.
@florianatwobob I think we have the same decision to make and im not sure if want to know but the cancer our family member has isn't usually detected until its too late so I think if offered we would be tested to help catch it earlier.
All 6 beds stripped, washed in 4 loads, ours was dried on the line, kids in the dryer as it started raining and back on beds.
Helped DS2 shower, took him to his swimming lesson and then helped him shower again (he needed both)
Set the kids on sorting through their clothes so I know what they need for holidays. Just been in and that's definitely a work in progress, piles of clothes everywhere and they've started packing for the holiday, we dont go for over a month, they'll be complaining in a couple of days that they have no clothes.
Sorted a drawer under our bed. Taken out 4 gift sets, bought in the sale before I left work over 5 years ago, will see if anyone wants them as we wont use them now. 3 bath bombs gift sets, we no longer have a working bath so will see if DD1 wants them, a lynx set to the bathroom as the kids will use it up. A bag full of other things that I need to sort to right bins/shredder. An invoice from 2005, another from 2012 and a lot of errmm small items with BBF of 2012.
So nothing has actually left yet but the drawer looks so much better.
Still not sorted my dresses though to dee if one fits.
I'll add to my list tomorrow when things go wherever they're going.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Emails are down to 215 unread. More sorting papers from the box file - it's amazing how many were in there. It will take a few more sessions to fully sort. 1 more dvd in CS box.
OH sorted more of his boxes with some things to CS, some recycled and some papers shredded. Things to keep will go back to the store for now and we will assess where to put everything once we know what we have.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅13 -
forgot also put cushions and cushion covers in CS bag and 1 pair of earring so far

Mrs SD you have given me too much credit - haven't finished sorting buttons and completely finished sewing boxes but most buttons by colour so easy to find a button for top I'm keeping and lost its fabric ball which will be replaced by a button and easy to find right shade thread.
Have tidied abit but more to do later as pulled alot of things out.
Hope people have had the best long weekend they can , leaving some summer fruits and cream in the TLC carriage, along with scones and jam and more cream

I love the picture of the jay Mrs SD they are a favourite of mine although very noisy. There use to be a pair around here who got into a altercation with a pair of magpies with young, it was a incredibly loud neighbourly dispute 🦅
I did a little gardening this morning before my body objected 😕 but some brambles were tackled.I went through my fabric supplies this afternoon looking for ideas for my next project, currently there are several piles out of reach of the cat whilst I consider coloursLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin12 -

I don't think turkey vultures are violent unless they think you are food. One of our zoos near Tucson, Arizona, has a flying bird display that includes vultures in the area that you walk through. One of my unnerving experiences occurred when I was about 15 and we visited there. I sat down on a bench in the enclosure. And a vulture came and sat down next to me. Didn't like the way he was looking at me (dinner plans?) so after a few minutes, I got up and rejoined my family looking at another exhibit. The vulture was about eye to eye with me when I was sitting down, so only about three feet high.14

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Monday & the weather has definitely turned - a dull, overcast day with light drizzle on & off most of the day & very breezy - high 18°C, low 12°C My contribution to doing anything today (apart from cooking dinner) was to tackle one shelf in each of three different kitchen cupboards. There was method in the madness as I managed to put like with like & decant various foodstuffs & dispose of packaging. Dinner was sliced beef in gravy with mash & the other half of the ginormous cauliflower. Wudupa. DSis & I watched the last semifinal of BGT & agreed with the public vote (for a change 😉)

charlies_tribe, perhaps you can treat yourself to a new comfortable pair of slippers - you do deserve them 😊 Well done on shaving the dog & hopefully getting the last bits done today 👏 So sorry to hear that you have been struggling although I am hoping that you can look forward to the family wedding next weekend 🥹
Great work on the digital decluttering oceanspirit 👏 & well done to your OH on building the bookcase & getting rid of the packaging immediately 👏 Good luck sorting out more boxes from the store & reducing the emails 🍀
Muddy_Walker, hopefully a weekend of rest & TLC will help towards your recovery from the jab 🤞This “… a garden centre last week as she wanted a couple of pots and some flowers and is a complete novice…..so she picked what she thought she wanted and then I demonstrated what would go and what wouldn’t by arranging them on the path. It worked quite well and I could see a couple of people watching so I think a few people will be trying that!” is brilliant 🤩 - wish I had been there for the lesson 😊
Great decluttering florianatwobob 👏 I agree with Floss “better to know & mitigate and prepare than be unknowing” I am sending positive vibes & good wishes to your DSis & all the family 🥹
Excellent work QueenJess 👏 A great idea to concentrate on one room & sounds like it is almost finished 👏 Loved This “I've also started my xmas/birthday gift list. If I don't I can never remember what I want come Dec and Feb and this way I can review the list many months later and check I still want what is on there!” ☺️ Hope you don’t mind if I borrow this idea 😉
florianatwobob, I will offer up a prayer that your genetic testing kit comes back negative for the faulty gene 🙏
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 Sounds like your cousin’s visit was very useful & productive 😊 Hopefully you will find time to put up the pictures next weekend especially as you have now made your selection 🤞
My thoughts are with you and your family charlies_tribe 🙏 Excellent work getting all the bedding washed & dried & sorting out the drawer under your bed👏 This “Set the kids on sorting through their clothes so I know what they need for holidays. Just been in and that's definitely a work in progress, piles of clothes everywhere and they've started packing for the holiday, we dont go for over a month, they'll be complaining in a couple of days that they have no clothes.” brought a huge grin 😁
oceanspirit, excellent work by both you & your OH 👏
TC77, nope 🙂↔️ not given you too much credit as I know that you will finish both the sorting out of sewing boxes & the sorting of buttons 😊 I was a bit slow getting to the TLC Carriage so missed out on the scones 😉
Brie, hopefully your turkey vulture family will vacate the barn soon 🤞
Brambling, This “I love the picture of the jay Mrs SD they are a favourite of mine although very noisy. There used to be a pair around here who got into a altercation with a pair of magpies with young, it was a incredibly loud neighbourly dispute 🦅 “ sounds marvellous 🤩 Good luck reaching a decision on your next project 🍀
Lovely story weenancy ☺️ Not sure I would have been quite so calm as you were 😥
I do hope everyone has enjoyed the long weekend as much as possible 🤞 Still missing a few people - London_1 & Dizzycap come to mind. Sleep tight everyone 😴
