Brambling, hopefully you managed to get the cupboard door on without having to completely dismantle the cupboard 🤞 This “My sister …..also returned a bag of a dozen books I thought I had off loaded on her 🤨” did make me smile & wonder if your sister is also decluttering 😉 Sorry to hear about your hip keeping you awake Sunday night ☹️ I hope you got a better night’s sleep last night 🙏
I thought I had slept better last night but fell asleep in the chair late morning when I sat down with a cuppa and again before dinner tonight which is probably whilst I'm still awake now. This hip has made me a napper which i have never been before, I don't think the under active thyroid meds need increasing. I'm due blood tests next month so will wait and see but it's a different type of tiredness if that makes sense?
Dizzycap it's so good to read about Babyface, she seems to have bounced back so well after the op, I hope you have recovered from the stress as well?
Sqwiffy I find crafting stuff difficult to declutter, so many supplies waiting for the right project 🙂 so good luck with the room and don't be too hard on yourself.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin16 -
Sister came today - very stressful for me. But she did help Di clean half of her room. 10 bags of recycling, 6 bags of trash, a bag of clothes out to be washed (by me, of course), 6 boxes of books to the library for the sale. I cleaned up until time to ride to my doctor's appointment. I insisted that they do one test - and I did have a UTI, antibiotics ordered for me to pick up tomorrow. They hadn't wanted to do the test, but I wouldn't give in. I was right. Tonight we are sort of recovering - but Di is very shaky and feeling cold. Cold it isn't here in the house (18C).
We will try and tackle the other half of her room tomorrow since they emptied the trash cans today. Will probably be totally filled by tomorrow evening. I still need to do more work in mine - but I am going to get into where the photos in suitcases are and take them to my sister's house for Easter. Then I will start to have room in the closet (half of it is filled with my parents' stuff that my two sisters need to help with). I also need to get the remaining folding bookcase into my room. I just have to reassemble it and probably glue part of it together. Just haven't had room for the assembly. Still don't but I may try assembling it on the front porch. Missionaries are coming to do their service project this week by reloading my organic trash can. May have to do it again next week (and maybe the week after that). Getting there.
Hope all those who are poorlie, get well soon. And those who aren't poorlie, enjoy your health and get out there and have a good Spring.17 -
- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Tuesday continued: it rained on & off all day. DH got back from his walk at about 18:45 with another squirrel tale 😉 He had sat down to have a rest when suddenly a squirrel jumped on his shoulder - he almost had a heart attack 😦 The squirrel jumped off his shoulder on to the bench beside him, begging for a nut & then proceeding to take monkey nuts from DH’s fingers, sit & eat without moving away & then step forward for another nut - 6 in all (DH took a short video on his phone 😊) Dinner for DH & DSis was bacon, eggs & sautéed salad potatoes (which were not good ☹️) I had lo cheesy pasta covered & heated through in the oven. Wudupa.

Back to cheerleading 😊
TC77, I used a combination of cut up pop socks & knitting yarn to fill the pin cushions. As an aside, do you know if any of the local charity shops have a dedicated crafting section? You shouldn’t be embarrassed as putting in a new zip is difficult 😣 Well done on resisting your friend’s blandishments to bring home larger gifts 👏 Also great work ‘shopping’ from your home, your dad’s home & CS rather than buying new 😊
Moorviews, excellent work sorting out fridge & freezer contents 👏 Lovely cheerleading 😊
vulpix, your holiday seems to have gone by in the blink of an eye ☹️ It sounds like you had enjoyable but also productive time away 🥹 You have been super busy since you got back 🤩 Excellent decluttering 👏 Also very well done on only gaining a single pound whilst away 🥳
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏
Thank you Dizzycap 😊 Talk about a busy morning & early afternoon 🤩 no wonder you were shattered 😩 Enjoyed the further “tails” of babyface especially This last part “…..However, she always slips in playing her 'dramatic parts' with now just having a roll around on her back kicking her legs up for 5 minutes followed by throwing swany about, popping outside for a loo break, and eating a piece of dried cod roe with waggy tail before she realised, she's suppose to be sulking 😆😆” I do hope you had plenty of rest Tuesday afternoon & evening 🙏
Brie, no wonder you were keen to find your marriage certificate - it is beautiful 😍
Yoshimi2025, sorry to hear that you are “still in a CFS crash” & having to sleep a lot 😔 However your day out on Saturday sounds absolutely wonderful 🥹 Excellent decluttering so am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️
Brie, a huge job clearing out a farmhouse 😥
Thanks for the p.m. vulpix 😊 Well done MrV 👏
Just noticed the time so will post & go to bed. Sleep tight 😴

@ sqwiffy - Fabulous post and picture which is an inspiration for us all, so thank you for sharing
Nothing shameful about a room (of doom) that's being decluttered slowly but surely, when time permits
TBH, I've seen far worse and I mean, dangerous floor to ceiling stacked hoarders one spark and the whole room would go up in flames type cluttered rooms
- You're doing just great sqwiffy
Decluttering one way or another, is an ongoing life event and your post sqwiffy has reminded me to go through my art drawers and remove & rehome items that haven't been used in the past 12 months and are unlikely to be used in the months to follow xxxx
On that note, it's time to make another coffee before I get out in the garden for half an hour while daxie girl snores away in happy landWishing everyone a lovely peaceful day xxxx

Thank you for all your kind and supportive comments. Yesterday was really difficult relating to some repair work that is needed on next door’s property and some family stuff on top. I was exhausted again by the end of the day.
Needless to say no decluttering took place yesterday and probably won’t now until the weekend when I shall need to clear all my papers off the dining table and am planning to make a start on spring cleaning bedroom.
Have bought ready cooked lamb shanks for Easter lunch which just need to go into oven to heat through (the big oven is broken but still have the little top oven/grill which is not big enough for a full roast) and will do mash and veg to go with, so nice and easy and won’t take up too much of my energy.

@weenancyinAmerica I'm sorry to see your sister's visit caused you so much stress but very pleased Di's room is 50% sorted. I have everything crossed for you that it gets 100% finished today. That would be a fantastic achievement.
Getting help with the suitcases of photos will get another big job out of the way.
As you say you ARE "getting there".

Morning all,
So back to almost full health which means the decluttering and getting my house nice and tidy is back on!
I'm supposed to be in the office today but I've switched to WFH so I am going to try and get as much housework done during my work day as possible - cheeky I know but everyone else is off on holiday and if I get any quiet spells then I shall tackle a little bit at a time.
Just realised that it's getting to the time of year for renewing B&L insurance policies so logged in to check the expiry dates and for some reason their policies aren't on my online account - cue the panic that I instantly thought I had forgotten to insure them! Checked my bank account and I'm paying a policy for each of them so I'll call the Co-Op later and try and get access to that.
I've got a meeting in a few so having a quick cuppa before that starts.Debt Free - 4th June 202518 -
Just decluttered 2 black bags full of clothes to my dog walker - she's lost nearly 10st since having a gastric band or bypass. All in my drawers not getting worn so off it goes.
Will go through the next set of drawers next then the wardrobes see what else I can throw her way.Debt Free - 4th June 202516 -
Afternooooon,
so, I think my issue is I can't be bothered to sort anything as I don't have enough storage to put stuff away. So i'm thinking of getting myself a desk for the room and a wider set of storage draws to put stuff away!
