Hi all, slow decluttering day here. Cleaned the bathroom and emptied the bin then went to the footy 😁. Lots of families with children and a chance to see some of my favourite retired players, very enjoyable way to support the club's official charity 😁. Managed to do a meal plan for the next couple of weeks and persuaded OH to engage with the shopping list, we often eat different things so if I don't ask OH usually has a bit of a moan 😂.
Tomorrow we are out for lunch but have to leave quite early as we have a drive so I am not expecting much else to happen although the duck will be going and a travel cot that has been sitting in the hall since it was delivered 4 weeks ago, one of OH's many parcels 😁.
OH's dsis asked if we wanted a mirror she is moving on. I didn't even look at the photo, just said no. It might be lovely but right now I don't want anything coming in. OH has apparently already said yes to a stair gate to be passed on at some point soon I hope 😂.
@Vulpix hope the viewings went well 😁. I will have to have a hunt on Facebook when I get a moment 😂
@Florenceem big hugs
@Soontobeoap never done it myself but ln says you can freeze left over chips and then put them in an air fryer and they taste just as nice. No idea about the fish though 😂
@Squiffy. You have a lot going on right now and you should be giving yourself time to relax, no need to feel guilty about it, you do what you need to do to get through the day. We are all here for you, big hugs
@Crazycatlady2 big hugs, hope things get better for you soon, nice to see you 😁
@Mrs SD love those bottle cosies 😁. Thank you for my flowers and I will pass on the medal to OH at some point in the future when a bit more has been done 😂
@Brie you could make apple muffins. I used to do these with the kids in school. Usual muffin mix, put a dollop of the mixture in a muffin case then a dollop of the apple and top up with more muffin mix, bake as normal. I did this with all sorts of fruit things and even some left over mince rather than make more mince pies 😁.
@weenancyinAmerica big hugs, we are all here for you
@Muddy_Walker well said, hugs
Right off to bed now, got to be up and at em in the morning
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Morning allSitting decluttering a mug of coffee having been up for most of the night with chronic pain
Will be going off to bed as soon as I've finished my coffee as it's eased enough for me to be able to drop off for an hour or 2
Babyface has had a fantastic peaceful night. She woke up at 1am for a drink, the loo, a nibble of Angus steak moving on to a big Angus steak & veggie dinner (she's not eaten for 2 days, so had what she fancied xxx), and then she sat waiting for her antibioticsShe took them out of my hand and swallowed without any fuss or bother, had another drink, threw her baby up the hallway, and then prance back off to bed
That's my girl!
Babyface got up again at 6am repeated the same but with a Greek yogurt and apple breakfast and is presently snoring her head off with crazy tail wagging - must be that slow walk to the outside talking launderette she had last night - Oh, what fun and don't ask!
Time to potter off to bed for some much needed sleep so I wish everyone a Super Decluttering Sunday - Ta-ta for now xxxxxx~ NSD 2025 - NSD July 25/20 (6 x💯)# Spectos/Royal Mail Monitoring and Posting Panel - Ongoing~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £1634.34 / £2025 (58%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £667.95 / £667.95 💯# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1378 / £1378 💯# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £13,429.74 / £12,000 💯 - Continuing16 -
Lovely bottle warmers @Mrs-Salad-Dodger. Enjoy your lunch @Liverpool_Anne. Hope OH exits stairgate pdq. @Dizzycap so sorry to hear Babyface is having such problems. One of the reasons I always have my dogs spayed. It helps protect them from hormonal based cancers too. Hope her op goes well on Weds 🤞 @crazy_cat_lady sorry to hear about your beloved cat. They break your heart don’t they. @Florenceem I hope you find MrF improved today. If only the doctors would have listened to you in the first place. I decluttered a chest of drawers, a tv, a dvd player and some washed bedding to our holiday chalet yesterday. Now that the decorating is finished I have some plans to tackle some of the bedrooms to get ready for the carboot season. I take it to one carboot and if it doesn’t sell it goes straight to the cs. Hugs to everyone who needs one and happy Sunday to one and all.15

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
DH & DSis had the linguine & I had the cheesy pasta. I finished the last baby bottle cosy 🥳

vulpix, a lovely compliment about this Thread 🥹 We are so lucky to have such a wonderful Declutterati family ☺️ I hope the viewings went well & that you do get the ‘ugly’ house as I would love to see how you renovate it 😉 Sadly baby bottle cosies are already ‘a thing’ 😉 Hope you manage to get a good night’s rest 🤞

Not a very productive Saturday for me. I have some jeans that I can’t quite let go of as I might well lose a few pounds and they were expensive. They are just too tight at the waist so have gone into a suitcase in the bottom of the wardrobe. I have just been researching that the pelvis widens with age so this might be a lost cause! Having donated my big thick cardigan, which I no longer liked, I have ordered another in the sale. This winter has demonstrated that I do need a thick, warm, layer over the top of all the others.I am very sorry to read of all the struggles that fellow declutterati are having at the moment.@Crazycatlady2 - grieving does make all the other things so much harder to deal with. Probate seems to take forever and there never is a way of hurrying things up. I hope your husband’s health improves. If you can, do those little things for yourself that you know help you. Make a list and keep it handy so that you can remind yourself of what you could do.@sqwiffy - of course you aren’t a fraud! You do have ever such a lot on your own plate and other people depend on you. It must feel like there is an impending crisis to deal with every day and that wears a person down. Escaping into a book is a great idea and gives the brain a rest. There are times in life when we just have to do what we need to get through. There is no point in comparing these times with the good times and being critical of ourselves. No, it doesn’t stop me doing it either but I do understand the theory!
@weenancyinAmerica - my heart goes out to you as you are one incredibly kind woman who has far, far too much to deal with regarding your health and your household of apparently helpless adults. I shall be willing Muddy on with that lottery win.@Dizzycap - thank goodness you spotted that Babyface had pyometra. I am delighted to see that she is responding to the treatment and your TLC and feeling so much better. I hope that your pain is not so bad today and that you can rest up together.@Florenceem - good luck with the buses and your visit to Mr F today. I hope that he turns the corner with his infection.17 -
Good morning good people,
I see that some of you have had what I usually describe as an "interesting week" when it happens to me. Hugs and commiserations aplenty from here but only a small jar of patience as I'm not a very patient person so I can only spare a little.
To everyone who thinks that they shouldn't complain because other people have worse things happen - I once had this pointed out to me as being "toxic positivity". If what you are going through is hurting/harming/upsetting you then you are right to engage with others (especially the people on this lovely thread) to receive some comfort, good advice or at the very least recognition of what you are going through.
Florenceem at least you haven't had to wait until MrF was half dead in his bed before anyone listened this time. I haven't forgotten the nurse who came to your house, declared that he had dementia and then left. I hope the IV antibiotics produce the desired improvement.
weenancy they're not "roommates" they're "room nuicances". If they're not paying their way or keeping the place tidy then it may be time for them to go. It's having an adverse effect on your health now and as you're their landlady and not their mother then something needs to change.
Dizzycap thank goodness that you spotted the symptoms straight away and we can look forward to a happy, healthy babyface in a couple of weeks.
ionafan I'm assuming that you like Iona the place not just the name? My great great grandmother was born on Iona as were her parents. When I told my son that his 3xgreat grandparents were buried in the same cemetery as the real Macbeth he actually started to be interested in his ancestors.
Now the decluttering totals. I've had a week of ferrying DS around instead of him using public transport so that all of his energy can be used for his end of year assignments and projects. I wait for him so I can take him home again as one and a half to two hours in a city with a museum, art gallery and a large public library is not a hardship. Parking is free as DS has a blue badge so it's done my step count the world of good. Thursday and Friday I only managed my target of 5 things each day but yesterday I had my cleaning and decluttering head on so I managed 45. We have a new bag on the go for charity shop stuff which I'm hoping to persuade ds to add a few more things to but slowly does it.
Take care all of you 😊16 -
Another sending hugs and love to everyone who is struggling. Some of the stories on here around care and how they're being treated is awful.
I did manage to declutter batteries yesterday. I'll be emptying bins this afternoon too and that should see a good few things going.
No luck still with my listing, but I might have another good cause for some of the items.September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x15 -
