Opened Thursday last week. No previous YBS account ever. Passed the id check. Funded it today, Tuesday, and showing in the app within minutes.
As a comment, you can apparently only install the app on one device. Or at least accessing with a second device means it resets the biometrics and full login required.

Nationwide BS Flex RS Issue 3

Mine matured yesterday and I moved the balance plus interest out. Overnight it has changed to Instant Access Saver Issue 10 (balance nil). I've tried to open a new Flex RS (now Issue 7) but the system won't let me, saying I already have one. Anyone had similar problem?
Yes! Mine matured on the 21st and even after it's revered to an instant access account, the system believes I still have a Flex RS. I'm going to close the instant access account tomorrow (accounts can only be closed between 8am-8pm weekedays online & the app has no option even though it tells you, you can close an account following the steps thrpugh the app which aren't there - opps! through the app!) and see if that resolves the issue, but I really shouldn't have to jump through hoops & the app chat says to let them know if the problem exists after I've closed the access account, which is ridiculous!

    YBS £50 RS

Nope. Opened Saturday, passed the 'Mitek' verification straightaway and still waiting... I've been with YBS for a number of years and have quite a few savings accounts already, FWIW.

    Nationwide Regular Saver Issue 7

I experienced the same problems as many others did with the maturity of the RS issue 3 maturity on Monday 22nd. This morning (24th) I was able to successfully open an RS issue 7.

Having read the community comments here and on other threads I think the most likely explanation is that the completion of the maturity failed overnight Sunday/Monday leaving the RS issue 3 unclosed; this pushed back the process by 1 day; noting as many have said that you have to wait till the following day to open a new RS.

Thanks. With a maturity date on Monday 22nd, I have been able to successfully open (and fund) a new Flex RS (Issue 7) this morning. CoP not yet recognising the account but I transferred £200 from Santander to my Nationwide current account and transferred from there into the RS. Will delay setting up the SO until tomorrow. All in all, not the smoothest of maturities but Nationwide is usually efficient, so this is hopefully a one-off

Anyone's £50 RS restrictions cleared please yet?
    Hi Forum User 7,
I opened mine on Sunday and it showed straight away in my list of accounts that I have with YBS but said I couldn't yet fund it until I'd been through the checks.  As I have an easy access account with them I popped £50 in there ready for a direct transfer when able and kept an eye out, as soon as it let me transfer my cash (Monday afternoon) I simply did an internal transfer.  I only got the email saying that I could now fund my account this morning (Wednesday).

I don't know if it might be worth having an easy access account with them to help speed things along - I didn't realise that mine is showing as a 4% account (I'm not using it, I just keep £1 in to hold it open.)  Edited to add - its the Easy Access Issue 3 and it is still showing at 4% for new customers so might be useful for future quicker funding if YBS give any more decent regular saver rates.

    Hope that helps xxx

I think we now understand that Nationwide have sorted whatever it was that had stalled their Regular Saver application process and that people are now able to open these accounts.

Probably help keeping this thread on track if people were to refrain from reporting on their successful applications.
When I kindly asked for the same about Principality and Monmouth I had to read reactions in a very different directions with someone highlighting the fact that this tread was the right place to post even about successful applications and any sort of feelings. Hundreds of useless pages followed. No different from what have been happening for Nationwide (with the remarkable difference, though, that treads 'ad hoc' for Nationwide and Virgin have been duly opened helping to keep this tread almost 'on track') . So? If people had avoided to write about successful applications for Principality ('the I have 55 of those' saga) and Monmouth this would be page 400, not 665 and very interesting and useful posts that can truly help wouldn't be submerged and difficult to find.
Best forum advice is to consider whether your post is of interest to anyone else. So once one person has reported that the Nationwide situation is sorted, we don't need 5 other people to tell us the same thing.

That being said, it's nice to have a bit of banter about Principality accounts and whether wearing green helps your maturity option :)
Might be worth starting a separate "regular saver banter" thread, and keeping this one to genuine questions, advice, and reports of new accounts. Although things work fairly okay as things stand, as long as you don't mind scrolling through a pages to get to the useful discussion.

We do already have a general discussion and whimsical banter thread!  :D
