You want to try posting on the motoring thread here. I did once and basically had endless pages of people saying variations on "you're obviously an idiot"clairec666 said:
I'm in agreement. I know the conversation can wander off-topic from time to time, but it's a much nicer atmosphere here than some Reddit pages where people just start ranting at each other, and there's no point bullying people and telling them what they can and can't discuss. I don't particularly want to read about every time someone's opened a new account successfully, but I can just scroll past it if I wantBridlington1 said:
Personally I've no objections to people using this thread to discuss applications for Nationwide regular savers. If people wish to discuss the accounts on a new thread they can do but this is the regular savers discussion thread and what we've seen is discussion about regular savers so is within the scope of this thread.clairec666 said:
Best forum advice is to consider whether your post is of interest to anyone else. So once one person has reported that the Nationwide situation is sorted, we don't need 5 other people to tell us the same thing.francoghezzi said:
When I kindly asked for the same about Principality and Monmouth I had to read reactions in a very different directions with someone highlighting the fact that this tread was the right place to post even about successful applications and any sort of feelings. Hundreds of useless pages followed. No different from what have been happening for Nationwide (with the remarkable difference, though, that treads 'ad hoc' for Nationwide and Virgin have been duly opened helping to keep this tread almost 'on track') . So? If people had avoided to write about successful applications for Principality ('the I have 55 of those' saga) and Monmouth this would be page 400, not 665 and very interesting and useful posts that can truly help wouldn't be submerged and difficult to find.flaneurs_lobster said:I think we now understand that Nationwide have sorted whatever it was that had stalled their Regular Saver application process and that people are now able to open these accounts.
Probably help keeping this thread on track if people were to refrain from reporting on their successful applications.
That being said, it's nice to have a bit of banter about Principality accounts and whether wearing green helps your maturity option
Might be worth starting a separate "regular saver banter" thread, and keeping this one to genuine questions, advice, and reports of new accounts. Although things work fairly okay as things stand, as long as you don't mind scrolling through a pages to get to the useful discussion.
If I'm honest I find myself more likely to be irritated by the regular occurrence of posts complaining about the fact that people are discussing regular savers too much as opposed to posts from people saying they've opened a particular regular saver.

Nationwide RS 7
I'm rather against a brick wall on how to set up the payment to fund this. I assumed that sort code and account number would work and I could create my own identifier for 'Reference' but COP fails, highlighting the account number. Had a quick look unwelcome email but couldn't see anything that helped.0 -

But as the Nationwide Flex RS issue 7 requires you to have a Nationwide current account you can do a transfer today from that. COP not needed "in house".1 -
As others have said, might be too early for COP to work if you've only just opened it.s71hj said:Nationwide RS 7

If you're keen to fund it today, you can set up a transfer to your Nationwide current account (assuming you've got one, otherwise you won't have been able to open the regular saver?), then move the money over to the regular saver. Should work on the Nationwide app, never tried it via the web portal before.
As a non-driver, they'd definitely think I'm an idiot, and I'd be inclined to agrees71hj said:

Quick question. Any ideas when the Yorkshire 6% will be pulled. I missed out on last years iteration.
After a deep dive through the previous regular saver discussion thread I see that the 8% version was pulled on the 20th, the Friday after last year UK Savings Week. Are we thinking the account will be pulled Friday 26th this year or the 3rd?
I want one but don't have the funds until the end of the week to fill it. And I'm OCD about my account maturities and funding as soon as the account is opened so don't want to open earlier than Friday.0 -
Nationwide Flex Account RSHattie627 said:
Thanks. With a maturity date on Monday 22nd, I have been able to successfully open (and fund) a new Flex RS (Issue 7) this morning. CoP not yet recognising the account but I transferred £200 from Santander to my Nationwide current account and transferred from there into the RS. Will delay setting up the SO until tomorrow. All in all, not the smoothest of maturities but Nationwide is usually efficient, so this is hopefully a one-offdealyboy said:Nationwide Regular Saver Issue 7
I experienced the same problems as many others did with the maturity of the RS issue 3 maturity on Monday 22nd. This morning (24th) I was able to successfully open an RS issue 7.
Having read the community comments here and on other threads I think the most likely explanation is that the completion of the maturity failed overnight Sunday/Monday leaving the RS issue 3 unclosed; this pushed back the process by 1 day; noting as many have said that you have to wait till the following day to open a new RS.
I was the second person to report today (as above) that I had successfully opened this account, so my apologies if I have, by so doing, annoyed anyone.
However, in my defence m'Lud, I would point out that I included information that CoP was not working (yet) but that I had got round this by transferring the opening deposit to my Nationwide current account and then internally transferred to my new RS. From reading later posts, I see that someone was highlighting difficulty in funding due to CoP failure.
So my apparently pointless post did have some value after all! Do not judge lest thee be judged... (or something like that
So there...... 😁

Great point. I'll do that. On COP, I thought the overnight issue only occurred when there was a seperate individual reference number required. Another addition toy knowledge bank (In theory anyway!!!)kermchem said:Ch1ll1Phlakes said:

MANCHESTER REGULAR SAVER.
Just logged in for the first time and I see you have to enter a ‘Authentication code’ to use your linked bank account and it says, this will come in a letter.
Can I still fund the regular saver from my ‘linked account’ before this code arrives and is used?
I’m thinking the code is more about making withdrawals and not deposits.
Thanks for any help.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0
