This whole refer a friend thing is a bit odd. As far as I can tell, the referred gets a good regular saver, and the referrer gets nothing? Highly unorthodox if so - generally the referrer would get like at least an Amazon gift card or something??

Just logged in fine. Code sent by WhatsApp.

They used to send the code by SMS too, but doesnt seem to be the case today.
I can login via WhatsApp but it wont let me take money out of my easy access account!
Is this for the account that used to be 7%? I had a similar issue and it was because I was trying to withdraw the full amount which errored out. Turns out there was a £20 minimum to keep it open so it was either withdraw the full lot and close the account or keep £20 in there to keep it open.

But then existing members have access to members month regular & the pick of the other regular savers etc so on that basis everyone wins.

Saffron BS Refer a Friend Saver

    Have opened and funded.

Has anyone seen sight of, or have details of, the referee process?

It's all on the website: https://www.saffronbs.co.uk/MM_Refer_a_Friend_Saver

Unfortunately 'the right' is only accurate if you view on a window large enough to render two columns. On mobiles it's at the bottom.

    The survey link is here:
    https://us2.list-manage.com/survey?u=9e534462b0372c544908568e9&id=4c0b2e74a7&attribution=false
Ah, that's why I couldn't see the link. Thanks for that.

Now off to "somewhere else" to find a willing referee for swapsies.
I don't think you can open one if you already have a savings account with Saffron

Survey - Refer a Friend Saver

    1. Are you an existing customer of Saffron? (If yes - you are not eligible for the Refer a Friend Saver).

That question wasn't there on Saturday when I filled the form in. It seems they've realised they've left the gates open...
That statement was visible when I clicked on the above survey link, but it has disappeared now.

The below appears on the refer a friend saver account application though

Welcome to Saffron! You're here because your friend referred you. On this page you'll find the information you need to open your new account. Remember to complete the Refer a Friend form too (to the right of this page). If you do not complete the form, your account will be closed.

    • Apply - online
    • Manage - online, mobile app, branch, post, phone, webchat

Please Note - You must be a new customer to Saffron to open the account. This account can be withdrawn from sale at any time without notice.

The only details that were requested on the form I completed early this morning were my first and last name, email address and first and last name of person who referred me (OH).  I've just clicked on the form again and can see the form now asks if an existing customer.  As the product summary and earlier referral form doesn't stipulate for new customers only, it'll be interesting to see how they deal with it.  I kept a screen print of the referral form I had.

I didn't see "new customers only".  All looked to me as it's ok to do this. I've opened a new MMLS (although my old one is still running until tomorrow), opened RaF for OH (she is new customer), opened MMLS for her and opened RaF for myself (I'm a very old customer). All opened and funded. I guess if it is wrong they will close some of the accounts and return the money.  The only thing I've noticed that I've done wrong, after it was all done,  is that the e-mail and phone number have to be different.  We normally use my contact details for savings accounts because I deal with them all so, I just automatically follow the pattern :)

MMLS for OH who is a pretty much a new customer? Requires membership since 1st June 2024. Though the system may not have declined it, I recall them being strict on criteria for this one last year I think? Or may have been that 9% one. Hopefully they leave it open though

Yes but I would have access to the MMLS regardless of if I referred someone for the refer a friend. So I suppose my point is that I personally am no better off referring someone - totally get that it doesn’t always need to be the case, but it is unusual to say the least

Progressive BS - are there any options to login without a smartphone now? I appreciate not having a smartphone is not a protected characteristic...

Without them sending SMS, a smart device of some type is needed.
My RS is maturing on 10th and i'm going to need access to get my funds out and possibly open a new RS.
    Going to call them tomorrow.
Maybe its just a glitch, or have they actually told someone they aren't sending SMS any more?

Progressive login screen reads "We have sent a 6-digit access code to you by SMS or WhatsApp. It may take five minutes for your code to arrive." but the input just says to enter "6 Digit WhatsApp Code".

It took a few minutes to arrive and I could login, wonder if it detects those without WhatsApp and falls back to SMS?
I used to get a 2 min delayed SMS
Today no SMS, no whatsapp either.
Tried ''resend code'', still waiting for code to arrive, been 15 mins now
    Progressive
My usual SMS waiting time was 40-50 seconds, WhatsApp was about 30sec.  I've noticed that the website had a makeover.  It's much better now.

It's possible to use an authenticator app (not necessarily the Salesforce authenticator, I use Google's) on your device to submit a code, if you opt in to this as your 2nd Factor Auth.

How do I do this please (opt in to this as my 2nd Factor Auth.) ?
