How strictly do they enforce the T&C's ?
I was thinking that it was a Calendar Month type account, rather than an Account Month. Therefore I paid the initial deposit in mid-month (Dec) and the second payment earlier this month.
It also seems to imply that payment must be from a SO, whereas I did an internal transfer.In my experience, not at all...You can do a manual transfer from your CA on the 1st, so longer earning time. I have kept the SO but adjusted it to 1p. There is some benefit for having the SO, ?RS roll over on anniversary?. There is a way to transfer directly into the Santander RS account externally, and this has been discussed here. The Santander RS account has a BS style roll number, so you need to also specify the right Sort and Account numbers.You can also pay in more than the £200 monthly limit and so far I've not heard of anyone nor had my extra payments picked up on. What happens at the end, I don't know yet. Interest may be paid on the 'over-the-full' deposits; it may not be. I made a monthly payment twice accidentally, and just left it as resolving the matter seemed like trouble.HTH1 -
MHBS RS Maturity SurveyJust received this email :
"Dear B2S
You recently completed your Market Harborough Building Society regular saver maturity, and we’d love to understand more about your reinvestment choice.
This is a short survey and should only take around 4 minutes to complete.
<link to survey>
Your feedback is extremely important to us and will help shape our future maturities.
Thank you in advance.

I'm miffed with MHBS for closing my extra accounts down last year and then restricting access to further RS by making them branch only. Perhaps this is an opportunity to let them know they they should take a leaf from Principality/Skipton/Darlington/Progressive/Monmouthshire etc with regards maturity choices. Simply because I would imagine that most people, not just RS experts, would move their money out of MHBS at maturity as the options provided were unappealing.
PS The link to the survey, stripped of all tracking and whatever is :

Filled it in this morning ...... I mentioned that I saved less in one RS than the maximum due to their restrictive totals over two RSs. For the section on "Why did you move your money away from MHBS" .... I put it wasn't worth opening another RS while there was a large amount in the remaining RS. Just let us open two different issue RSs, each with their own sensible maximum .... like other BSs!Born2Save_3 said:MHBS RS Maturity SurveyJust received this email :"Dear B2S

Seems that the issue only affects the Regular Saver account (from the banner wording)happybagger said:Re: Darlington BS interest

Oh well, to be expected, I don't blame them, if it help them keep afloat, all good. I will still be staying with them once it is sorted, it was nice to see it though.happybagger said:Re: Darlington BS interest

Yes, it's been showing since around 1am this morning but only effects the RS not other accounts.happybagger said:Re: Darlington BS interest

@ Born2Save_3 - I've completed the survey feedback much tothe same effect. I along with you and others suffered the same fate with the MHBS RS, although some fell under the radar. I ended up only funding 1 of the 2 RS which were left open, hoping that they would enforce their empty threat; twice by letter of closing the now unfunded RS if not funded soon, which they finally did at maturity some 7 months later
. I think at that point I decided MHBS had really lost the overall plot of saving and the need for savers, so with no viable MHBS re-investment options, I withdrew the lot. I still have 1 RS being fully funded each month which matures at the end of March, but I'll stop funding it in February as I've got better use for the funds and can't wait for the last MHBD RS to end TBH
