Have they written to affected customers? Are they also restricting withdrawals? Surprised this is taking them so long to resolve.

I did wonder that, as restricting withdrawals (or even withdrawals not being processed as quickly as usual due to their teams working on fixing the interest issue) would be unreasonable. People may need access to their money while having no intention of trying to pocket the interest paid in error.

I was overpaid and have not been personally contacted.

Darlington - Cowboy errors restricting customers from accessing their own money due to internal issues and a possible rate reduction (TBC) without informing customers, not contacting us directly about the interest overpayment. I will be closing this account once the interest has been recorrected as they clearly can’t manage the money correctly. 

On another note. Progressive BS - Website login has been under maintenance all day when mine and probably many others regulars savers have matured leaving our 12 months of funds + interest stranded in a lower paying EA account with no info provided on the website as to when the account can be accessed. Very poor. 

I’ll be making complaints to both in due course.

I attempted to withdraw and close from my Issue 1 this afternoon after noticing that the rate is dropping to 4.5% later this month, and I need the funds soon. The interest accrued looked reasonable (it shows what is accrued when you confirm closure), and it allowed me to withdraw and close the account. I'll hopefully receive the money later today.

Sounds like a different issue of the RS. Mine is at 6%

I'm taking Issue 1 to be the RS at 4.75% and Issue 2 to be the one at 6%.

Both dropping by 0.25% on 20th Jan.

And where is it written that the rates are dropping on 20th Jan ? This is totally new for me and nothing can be read on the Darlington BS website

Can’t find it either. You’d have thought they might hold the RS rates as an apology for their interest and closures suspended blunder.
