31st December is probably the worst date for maturity. 5 days of cash drag and it will be exactly the same next year. £3.38 loss for me this time. Slightly disappointing but the net return is still above what I get from EAs.happybagger said:
Chorley use Bacs not faster payments so can take 3 working days (their terms say up to 5!)nottsphil said:
I've had the same issue with Chorley. When should I have got my money if the RS matured on 31 December? I prearranged for it to continue, with matured funds going into the linked current account.GetRichOrDieSaving said:Darlington - Progressive BS -
I’ll be making complaints to both in due course.
And, if like me you time your visit to Chorley to do it in branch, they will do it in branch by chaps at a cost of £25!! Bacs not available in branch, but you can take a cheque. So I took the cheque!
All a bit behind the times really but within their terms
If I was near the branch I would go for branch-cheque option. Last time I cashed cheque in HSBC the money arrived next day.1 -

My regular saver was showing with interest on the morning of the 31st so requested it all sent to my nominated bank account, now looks like I wont see my money until Monday the 5th.I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0 -
They work Sat mornings. My branch rs has two months to run. I am hoping another rs will be issued , even if it's 5% or 5.5%. I've had a decent run with West Brom.trickydicky14 said:West Brom B.S

If I recall correctly from when mine matured, funds landed suddenly on a Saturday afternoon. So it’s possible but due to how my bank dated the transaction (high street account) I wasn’t able to move the funds onward until the Monday and earned no interest in the interim.alfred64 said:

My Progressive reg saver matured today.
I was able to withdraw all but £1.00.
I will ring on Monday to get that sent over and account closed.
Anyone know how long they take to transfer finds.
Thanks in advance.
They just sent me an email, looks like some time Monday as it’s a non working day today.0 -
In addition to the above I've just spoken to them and their 12 Month RS Issue 3 is due to remain unchanged so shall remain at 4.75%. This gives the following:dibbles212 said:
I'm taking Issue 1 to be the RS at 4.75% and Issue 2 to be the one at 6%.happybagger said:
Sounds like a different issue of the RS. Mine is at 6%dibbles212 said:
I attempted to withdraw and close from my Issue 1 this afternoon after noticing that the rate is dropping to 4.5% later this month, and I need the funds soon. The interest accrued looked reasonable (it shows what is accrued when you confirm closure), and it allowed me to withdraw and close the account. I'll hopefully receive the money later today.arthurdick said:
Oh well, to be expected, I don't blame them, if it help them keep afloat, all good. I will still be staying with them once it is sorted, it was nice to see it though.happybagger said:Re: Darlington BS interest
They are aware as there is a banner across the top of their homepage.
No account closures permitted until they sort it, apparently.

There was an option to close the account and withdraw the full balance, which is what I did.0 -

My RS account is still showing 1% despite putting in £150/month since Sep. Someone mentioned theirs is now showing 5.5% as expected, is this the case with everyone?0 -
For me the bonus interest of 4.5% has been paid on top of the 1% interest, however the account's interest rate still shows as 1%, presumably because I haven't met the criteria for earning the bonus rate for 2026.DealSeeker11 said:Beverley Building Society
