I typically refresh at the end of the month to push the maturity date on to the end of the month and allowing me to get the best of both worlds. I've done this with Principality BS many times for example.
Can you refresh Principality when you have multiple versions of the same issue?
Not sure how that would work to be honest, think about it, the only way to get multiple of the same issue is only through maturity options, so you close one it's gone, you won't be able to get another (in theory) until an existing account is due to mature

Plus requesting closure of something with Principality requires manual intervention, so would be more likely to result in them spotting multiple accounts and exercising their right to close them.

Yesterday I received confirmation that the RS was open and sure enough the details had been linked to my online account which already showed the e-Saver Plus. Late last night I sent a test payment of £1 by faster payments to the RS using the sort code and bank account details of the e-Saver Plus and the account number of the RS, followed at lunch time today by a further FP of £199. As of just now neither of those payments is showing online, so it will be interesting to see if they do end up being credited today, or if I have missed October's boat.
    @bristolleedsfan

Pleased to be able to confirm that both the FPs I made - £1 on 30 October and £199 on 31 October - are now showing as having been credited to my Scottish Building Society Regular Saver account on 31 October.

You had confirmation Scottish BS regular saver was open a day earlier than i did. (had I opened another account and had online access probably would have missed latest deposit time for Friday interest start on RS.)

My experience, SBS received my fully completed application at the end of 1st week in October

1518pm Friday 31 October I received email confirmation account had been opened

Today by post received letter dated 30 October confirming account open together with passbook showing cheque deposit 31 October, £50 cheque cleared Nationwide account today.

    Weekend deposits in Darlington BS
The first page says for Darlington, Deposits on non-working days: Treated as having been received the same day.

I transferred today around 1:30 pm, no credit in Reg Saver as of 7 pm.
Is there a specific cut off time say 1 pm that I missed or the credit will be reflected online tomorrow on monday, but the interest payment will start from sunday (today)?
I made a payment into Darlington BS yesterday morning and the payment shows in my account dated 1/11/25.

I've never bothered to check Darlington's online banking so soon after making a faster payment to it but I made a payment into their RS issue 1 on the evening of 12th August and the payment shows as dated 12/8/25 in Darlington's online banking but as having left on 13/8/25 in Ulster (account I sent it from) so would assume your payment'll show at some point tomorrow but dated today.
Bridlington1 I checked yesterday at 7 pm, no credit in Darlington BS RS. Today afternoon I can see credit date as 2 Nov, same as transfer date.
Im guessing they updated some time last night.
This was my first time doing transfers into RS on weekend & I was really keen to see if all goes well.

    Llyods RS
I transferred funds in both RS on 1 Nov.
Today, on 3Nov, that transaction is reflected in the app rather bizarre.

    Date    Description                               Amt
    3 Nov  C Bacca 1Nov xx123xx  TRF   £400

were the funds earning interest from 1 Nov? Why this entry on 3 Nov?

  • Quick question. My Zopa regular matures in 16 days and I've still not paid in my 12th payment. Is it okay to miss payments with the Zopa regular? Thanks in advance.
    ZOPA RS

If it's the fixed 7% one, yes, according to the info from the screenshot I took when applying:

    "Minimum and maximum deposits:

    There is no minimum deposit.

The maximum you can deposit each monthly allowance period is £300.00. Any payments over this will be returned to the account where the funds came from.

Zopa's Regular Saver pot is a part of the Smart Savings Hub, which has a total balance limit of £250,000.00 across a maximum of 20 pots."

I went through the application process logged on as an existing user.  All good, no surprises.  I thought I went through all the documents to read and accept, as I like to keep my own copy of these.  The summary pdf wasn't there, and I'm not sure if there is a link somewhere.  Anyway I managed to find one by hacking a URL :
and the branch/post version is here :

    Lloyds.
AFAIK, although the weekend deposit is dated the next working day, the interest is accruing from the day of deposit. I always deposit to Lloyds, Halifax and BoS on the 1st.
