  • Thanks @BudgetingBelinda my ethos for 2025 is to just crack on with debt busting, getting fit, looking after myself.  I'm going the whole hog!!

Sounds like you've had a great day, nice to have some time to yourself.  Being out in the fresh air does wonders for your mental health doesn't it? I've got my steps in and have walked to town then to the chemist, so 6 miles in all.  I was growing the colour out of my hair last year, and got a fair way with it, but I just didn't feel myself. I felt like having grey hair really aged me, so I have started to have it coloured again, I think if it was a nice grey I wouldn't have bothered, but it was really patchy in places, and very course, it looked awful.

I've bought a face mask today and one of those foot peels, I've never done one before but thought I'd give it a go.  I've also had some nice face cream for Christmas so going to have a pamper session soon.

    Have a lovely weekend x
  • @Justcrackingonwithit say what! 6 miles!!! Very good! No doubt a foot peel is needed! Pamper away ⭐️💯❤️ I’m debating a foot spa, saved on amazon 🧐 I have some nice foot salts I sometimes use and it feels great afterwards and the next day.
My grey is aging me, I feel like I’ve earned the silver streaks to some degree but also really don’t feel mentally as old as my body/hair suggests! May throw some highlights in it- but maybe not DIY as before, though DIY is a lot cheaper and quicker! Maybe I will go to boots tomorrow 🤔😂.
enjoy the feet and face pamper! 🥳

  • Thank you, I just need to keep it up!  I do feel so much better when I'm active. I used to use a box dye, but it didn't cover the grey as well, and I didn't suit that block of colour.  I've gone for fine highlights, a bit lighter than my natural colour to blend in the grey.  I don't have it done regularly, although I'm very overdue a cut and colour, it's not something I can afford at the moment.

    Foot spa sounds lovely :)
  • @Justcrackingonwithit I think I’m on the same page with fine highlights needed, and not affordable atm. I am going to maybe book in at the hairdressers when I reach my EF goal ⭐️ and foot spa is staying in my Amazon basket until next payday I think. I’ll continue to use an old tub until then! Pampering on a budget! 🎉

  • Not sure if DS’ back today or tomorrow. DS2 was reluctant to be with his dad for 3 nights in a row. Haven’t heard anything yet tho so it could be happening. I’m going to walk the dog, change the bed, declutter a kitchen cupboard and that might be it. I do need to go shopping but a) I’m bored of food, thinking about it, cooking it, even eating it and b) I don’t want to break the 0 spent so far on Jan groceries budget! I think I’ll put it off. Freezer still full. And so am I!

  • Beautifying on a budget, love it!  I've had some really nice smellies for Christmas so I won't need to buy any for a while.  Hair will have to wait until after January pay day, which in all honesty already seems a LIFETIME away!!
I'm with you on the food too, I've got a freezer packed to the rafters with soup I made with the cheap veg and I've got some bread in there, so it'll be soup and sandwiches for the foreseeable for me!  I definitely need to avoid the supermarket for sure......

Sounds like you had a productive day, are the kids home?

DS2 home on his request, DS1 home tomorrow. Little groceries spend £15 💪🏼. Didn’t get round to decluttering the kitchen cupboard so will add to the list and hopefully get done tomorrow. Only dog walk/trip to work tomorrow to do aside from the general chores. Walked so far today with the dog.. I’m aching! Not actually that far just out of shape and in the spirit of moving move I did. Now feeling it!
    @Justcrackingonwithit..
Good luck with the soups! Perfect time of year. Also roll on pay day! For hair and feet etc! Enjoy the smellies 🎉🎉🎉🤗🤗🤗👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

  • Had a lay in. DS’s did too. Wonderful!
DS1 is tasked with walking the pooch so a stay home day for me and DS2 which is much needed. I’ve hoovered, decluttered that kitchen cupboard and done a little tidy. Some more to do but I’m just chilling for a bit now. Made a purchase which wasn’t too wild, but also may put me on the ropes this month trying to stay out of EF, as ex aubergine not likely to pay for the boys on time, hasn’t for last 5 months! Anyway I got myself a telly for my bedroom. Grand plan is moving the bedrooms around a little and may require an extra screen as a bribing tactic for DS’s who I’m going to try and get to switch rooms! In the mean time I’m going to enjoy having a telly in my room, haven’t had one in my bedroom for 20years! What a luxurious treat!
Shower and fresh pjs is the plan for the rest of the day. Perfect 👌🏼

“Growth and balance” is an excellent goal. I think I’ll aim for the same thing, if I may 😊

Enjoy the tv. We have one in our room, it can be a pain if I just want quiet to read then OH comes in and puts it on. I used to be able to zone it out but I can’t anymore.
