  • Feeling sensitive and trying to be positiveXX

Aw sorry to hear this, one day at a time though. Office politics is just awful. We have a member of staff where I work who has annoyed almost everyone I work with and I had kept my thoughts to myself for so long until I had a bad day with him - that lunch I had a right old moan to get it off my chest as he'd made my day almost impossible! Then 2 weeks after someone parrots what I had said to a manager (tbf manager also said same but still..) and I was right in the middle of it all.

I try to avoid wherever possible though and have learned now to rant to people outside of work to get it off my chest! I hope you have a good weekend!

Thanks @debtfreewannabe321 I guess I just need to say it so I can reflect, I don't think it is as bad as I made out I was just feeling extra sensitive yesterday. But it is good to voice these thing so I can say to myself I need to stop that behaviour and nip it in the bud so to speak (I am talking about myself now!).

I am determined to get a few chores done, but I feel like I need a 'me' day today as I am tired and feeling a bit sorry for myself!! so i'll do a ta da list instead, I have everything in place to do the hoovering, but I have yet to do it!!

MD gave me some of her groceries for lunch I have chutney (my favourite one), chilli cheese and eclairs - yum - so I could potentially get a few things done then have a lovely lunch to look forward to. It is 11:08 now - possibly I will have lunch at 1pm so there is some time to get bits and pieces done, then maybe read or watch a film MD gave me (I am Israel).

    Ta Da:-

    1) Hoovering

    2) Next weeks Grocery online shop. (£10 over budget - Need some bits and pieces doubled up where on offer).

    3) Mopping - Now I have to wait for it to dry!! - It is my least favourite job, so I am glad it is done, sometimes I don't do it!! I have mopped myself into a corner, where the computer is!!

    4) Bins.

    5) I have had lunch - It was gooood!! I still want to do a few bits, i'll rest then get on.

    6) I Have updated signature - I have put 1/12 months reached target of £400-£450 for CC bill - I know technically it was more but the element that I owed was £403.12 as I didn't have the blender and MD did. I have also reached goal for No spend days having reached 19 this month so far...Yippee!!

    7) Laundry sort

    8) Changed bed linen

    9) Put wash on.

    10) I am done now!

I did take MD out after all and spent a pretty penny as well, I got a new bag in the sale, a bowl in the sale and new hair clip not in the sale - all items I love, I also got a mug but I gave it to MD as I have enough, and she generally needs more as she breaks them a lot (Tetra plaegic) Can't hold things so well. I also treated MD and me to Cake and drinks. I also bought some sweets which I probably shouldn't have but since it was a spendy day what the hell! I have had a good day out, I love my purchases and I am within budget for the month if not the week - Factoring refund I am £9.91 over which can be offset next week as MD is being taken to hair appt. and therefore I can have the weekend off. And have a non spendy weekend...maybe watch that dvd or read. Tomorrow We have cancelled our plans to go out because there just are not any good places to eat that we know of that are not too expensive, everywhere that was suggested is naff. Anyhow SFD said he would prefer to stay in and have lamb shank - I happen to have lamb shanks, mum has wine and a quick stop at MrM&S for a few extras will be enough. So tomorrow looks set to be relaxed. But I am wondering if I have the ability to just chill out? as I seem to to go out instead of chillaxing - I need to be in tomorrow. I was just saying to MD not sure if I am tempting fate by saying it, but things are okay right now, I feel relatively happy and content most of the time having a job and doing bits and bobs at the weekend..I know I have off days like yesterday, but generally I am happy.

Today I almost blew the budget, and in fact had a spendy day, once refund comes in I would have spent £44.45 on MDs birthday, the best time to buy Spring/summery clothes is now if you want them cheap, I found some lovely clothing and a throw all for £44.45 from a well known shop too, I am very pleased, though it does cause one problem I have exactly £5.98 left over lolly from the budget to last until 19th February. I may get away with it in the form of what I receive in greatly anticipated wages this month??!! I could potentially give myself a little more spending money but if I have £200 left over I want this for EF if it is there and plus. So I could be having a very tight rest of the month - I hear a lot of people blow the budget the first week, ahh well, I guess it means Birthdays are done this year, I may send a card to a friend but no other gifts I think. So That is the last gift until the end of the year as SFD is done, as of today.

Since the last Christmas was lonely I felt it was wise to change that next year, of course a lot can happen, but I have invited a friend over and I have a little mission and that is to make £55.00 per month on Prolific, this is for the reason that £55.00 X 12 = £660 these are cost of desired gifts for me and friend, which I want to make the Christmas spectacular as I have invited him around and he said it was a good idea. So We will hopefully celebrate in style, so far I have got to £39.97 so not far off - I need to make another £15.03 in 5 days which may be doable we will see - anyhow it will help a lot, I am thinking I will cash out each month and put it into the account marked as Christmas gifts, I may add to the pot on months where I don't spend as much, which is possible, although you wouldn't think by this weekend!!

I had thought that if there was suplus cash this month that I would buy some new clothing, I know I could do with a few new clothes however if I could last a bit longer without that would be best, also I have a few expenses this year with the car such as big service, MOT and Tax disc, I need to tot this up and factor that into any money that I set a aside. Although my challenge for the year is £3k - I have worked out that without spending on the car which I would need to I could potentially accumulate £5K but that is pushing it, which is why I thought I would make the challenge more realistic with £3k as the target, but I would feel absolutely amazing if I had reached £5K or close to it by the end of the year! That is why over these next few weeks I need to think about that goal, because I would be super buoyed if I had made it to £5K saved in the year.

Actually I feel totally motivated to the cause if that is what I could do!!XX

Well best laid plans an all... I had an open conversation with colleagues today and it looks like the new software they are installing could wipe our jobs out, which is why they are keeping me as a temp - so I could be on the search for another job again soon, well I have a few months of peace and I am going to make the most of it, I like it there so I am not going to search for another job in the hope that I will be made perm, which now looks less likely but I can hope. I always thought there would always be a need for a credit controller, potentially this will go to head office team. Anyhow no point worrying about it, it will be what it is, I will save as much as possible in the mean time.

20/19 No spend days today earning me all the emojis on offer on the no spend thread, yippee - That is what I was aiming for.

Thanks @Jessy103 I hope so too.

Today I have gone over budget on spending but I am hoping that I may be forgiven with a slightly higher pay then what is needed, but we will see, perhaps not. I have found out today that they are only putting the wages on from 7th so they are not putting the 6th on which got cancelled, shame on them! Anyhow with a tax boost it shouldn't be too much of a big problem, but I don't really know what I will be paid which is annoying.

Looking at above and over spend today I need to make £1710.40 - (On the pro rata salary calculator I will roughly earn £1618, That is a shortfall of £92.40 - However I should in theory get a tax refund for time not worked over time worked. Perhaps I'll go and work out how much that should be...I'll be back later...Even better I know what I am being paid roughly it should be in the region of £1706.40, if my calculatuions are right, my company name was on HMRC and they had put the gross and two dedcutions, so if it is done right I think I will just about have enough, if it is a few pounds out I will as stipulated above I will deduct this from Christmas fund, I only put this here because I wanted to add back to the prolific fund after raiding the fund at the beggining of the year - it is only £7.61 but I don't really need to put it back I just wanted to, like a wish list, I can do this another month. Not Feb though looking at the spending!!

Now I know what my tax code is I need to reassess what the rest of the year will look like at least until April. (New tax year). Also there is a good chance I would have overpaid Tax by the end of the tax year so potentially there will be a little boost at some point - perhaps this will go to the car fund. It is only a short way a-way.

Sometime later...I will just save less each month the difference is £20 from what I was expecting not a huge bother, still it would have been better the other way, however come April I think I will be back on the normal tax rate (1257L), and that means I will creep back up. I was told when I started that one of the perks is bonus, I thought this was done regularly, however I am yet to find out about this, perhaps I will ask?

Also I thought they had paid me from the 7th because it mentions the 7th in an online portal, however calculating it looks like they have only reduced the pay by a half day and that was warranted as I left early and started early - I was worried about being on unknown roads back when I started - I don't mind this at all - it is fair and I feel a lot better about it now.
