I vaguely knew they were part of the same group but it's a very odd decision to automatically show pensions in a banking app. We were told that there was no way to hide or remove it from the app. The end result is that she uninstalled the app and, a bit later, stopped using the Halifax account completely. There were some other reasons but the pension thing was definitely a contributing factor.
There are always some who don't want it, but the trend is very much the opposite.0 -
I have both the Bank of Scotland and Halifax apps and each one only shows my accounts relevant to that particular bank. There is an option on the home screen to add other accounts from other banking institutions if I wanted to, but I prefer to keep them seperate.0

I only have the BOS app and it shows all BOS and Halifax accounts as noted above, unless there is an option to change that not already mentioned?? I have not tried the Halifax app, but will do and see if it is any different.
Someone asked why this is an issue. I am only interested in seeing my everyday current account. I do not want to scroll through a list of account to get to my working account. They are not even listed in alphabetical order otherwise I could simply rename or number them to get the one I want to monitor at the top. I still have security concerns about mobile banking apps and have only just started using them, so I do not see the need to view all of my savings and ISA accounts on a mobile phone.0 -
Just tried the Halifax app and it is identical to the BOS app and shows everything, so I have uninstalled it.0

Do you have the option to add or remove accounts from you homepage as shown in the pic.0 -
I think the issue is down to online profiles matching being linked etc, I never used to see the other bank accounts in the app then 1 day no matter which app I used it showed both Halifax & BOS.
It used to really annoy me, it only annoys me a bit now.
I understand you want to keep things simple, same as me.
1 bank per app.
I don't think there's a way around it.
I would seriously lose it if they added all my Lloyds accounts to the Halifax/BOS mix.0 -

Think the poster wants things as simple as possible.
Personally I don't understand why banking apps can show all your other bank accounts now.0 -
I know the thread is not about RBS (NatWest), but that bank came up in some of the replies. Anyway, just had this in an e-mail from RBS subject "Your app is evolving"...

So in short it doesn't seem anything new to me, so probably really minor home screen changes
On another point my Ulster Bank app already looks slightly different to the NatWest and RBS app, my current account has a wallet icon instead of a small NatWest or RBS icon0
