    Catching up with the thread. Have been paying the direct debits monthly so another £2,100 has been paid off. A family wedding and a child starting uni have hindered additional payments but these were essential spends.

  • Hello, I haven't been on this thread for a long time.
     I became debt free in 2021 after spending 3 or 4 years on this thread trying to clear everything, and I'm looking at everything today and seeing that I'm in debt again not massively. Originally, I paid off £18,500 but I'm almost 2k in the red again. Rising costs and my income not rising so much has got me here. But I just wanted to bob on and say that you are all doing fabulously but even when you're debt free that you have to keep one eye on this because sometimes non of this debt is your fault. I will be back in 2026 because I won't clear this before Christmas. It's a bit like losing weight we need to maintain. I don't how this has been going for the last few years but definitely all those tips on how to save money alongside  just posting numbers really helped me. Good luck
