To get a 'percentage paid', divide the total you've paid by the total outstanding then multiply by 100. In my case (£2,144.15 ÷ £12,934.78) x 100 = 16.57. So I've paid 16.57% of my total outstanding.

It's actually more tricky than that, when you consider overpayments reduce the total interest paid so the reduce total outstanding. How do you work that out each time 👀
you have the best forum name ever :)
yeah, I accidentally knocked off £700 off my total debt figure and that in itself made the percentage I'd paid wrong, I can't imagine how to work out the percentage with interest and overpayments taken into account, for me, I have interest-free amounts, which sounds less stressful but for some reason, the fact most is owed to HMRC stresses me out no end.

Hi, I have paid £177.50 off my credit card via a tiny 'rounding up' payment of £2.50 today and a direct debit of £175. I have now paid off £2808.5 of the £7881 I had at the start of the year. There is a but, I have %$£"&* all in my current account. I need to be careful and not put myself under pressure.

Hello can I join please?  I am new here but really want to be debt free by the end of this year. I feel like fhe support and accountability on here will really help. I can already imagine my debt free future 🙏🏼

I have paid off £1000 so far this year and started with £6904 and now have £5904 left. Hopefully I am recording it right like this £1000/£6904!

Welcome! I just joined this thread yesterday and already can't wait to be debt free (again)!
