Is the laptop fan OK? Turning off without warning is commonly due to overheating.

No idea! It's fine now, not blipped off lately. I bought it when I first started work (7 years ago!) so I think it's coming to the end of its life! It usually works ok for a while, then has a little tantrum and plays up for a bit, then back to normal.
I am going to buy a new one, but obviously I want to pay my debts first, so I'm holding out.

Oh! My TV situation has been resolved! A kindly colleague is giving me hers as she has bought a new one. :D I can now move my tiny 9 incher back into the bedroom :D The Aprentice in bed tonight methinks :D

And, thanks to a poster on MSE I have found a website where I can buy Shadows flea treatment for half as much as the vet charges!! I usually pay £30 for 6 months worth. I just bought 12 months for £24 :D

Congrats on both of them....the TV aspect the cheaper flea treatment. at the markup though that the vet is putting on the flea treatment though!

Lots of mail and visitors today.

Got my car tax refund cheque, so must pop into town soon to pay that in.
Got a letter from Bank of Scotland confirming that the account is closed, and they also helpfully sent me a list of all payments made and totals on the account from start to close.
Shadows Frontline arrived this morning too, so she's covered for the rest of the year!

My colleague came round with the TV, so I'm now watching big tele again!! :D Little TV back in the bedroom.
And the landlord came round to check the bathroom ceiling, there are wet patches coming back, so still a leak somewhere. Obviously he can't paint until it's dry so I might move all the bathroom stuff back in (and get the space back in the kitchen) until it's ready to paint. I've got a couple of weeks off in June, so might leave it til then to paint. Rather than trying to squeeze it in on a day off.

Oh and the mouse is back. I was sat here last night and the audacious little thing shot from under the sofa straight across the floor and into it's hole under the bookcase. I put some poison down before going to bed (the mouse has to climb into the little plastic box, so Shadow can't get to the poison) and it's definately been touched.

More interesting is how the mouse got in. In my place the now-blocked entrances were pipes around sink, gas pipe and a gap between floor boards and wall in the living room. So far blocking those has been effective at eliminating the rodent traffic.

Yep, my landlord is coming round today armed with a can of expanding foam to block up all the holes :D

Ooh! And I might have a new computer coming my way! :D My uncle bought my granma a brand new PC a few months ago, so she could keep in touch by email (he's out fighting in Iraq) she's not very techno-savvy and something is wrong with it, but she's not sure what.
She's given up with it & packed it away in the cupboard, I said I'd take it off her hands :D I will have to wait for my friend to come back from Manchester to help me transport it, and to find and fix whatever is wrong with it. The IT guy in work also said if I supply biscuits & tea he'll have a look if needed!

So that will save me a few bob!! :D New TV and new PC! Now all I need is a friend or relative to donate a new sofa, a new bed & a saxophone and I'll be made up! :D
