Hmm anything else you are missing? New kitchen or anything like that? :rotfl:

Well new kitchen is landlords call! I did have a new oven last year :D

My friend is back from Manchester around the 5th June, so I will be able to pick the PC up around then. I could stick it in a taxi, but of course that will cost me a couple of quid. :D

5th of June - not too long to wait then! (oh and where abouts in Manchester has your friend gone - bearing in mind that my parents live near Manchester Airport - which some family friends find very convenient :rotfl: - they can park upto 10 cars in the garage and on the forecourt :o)

I've no idea where abouts in Manchester she's gone too, somewhere on the outskirts I think. I know it's somewhere rural.

Expanding foam is what I used as well - not worth bothering my landlord for it since it took me a while to track down each place. But I'm not in maximum moneysaving mode and you are. :)

Good to hear about the new computer. A few years back I got TV, computer, toaster and crockery when I moved here and about the same time a family member relocated away. Definitely the cheap way to get things. :)

Hmmf, well about the computer, it seems Granma was confused. She thought I meant I would take it home, fix it, and bring it back!! So no new PC :(

I am getting desperate now, it's just taken me 30 minutes to switch it on. I press the power button, it whirrs, then goes dead. Doesn't even load up long enough to see the windows logo.
I'm sat here expecting it to go any minute.

 Nuts! It just did again.

I think I need to start looking for a new one, really would rather wait, but I don't know how long I can hold out. Might have to wait another month to pay off loan.
Target is still the end of the year thou.

I'm off to look on Dells website

It's about 6 years old, def not in warranty. Hard drive is definately on the way out.

I want to get a new one while this one is still alive, so I can transfer my files across. I think when my wages go in on friday I will take a trip to PC world.

I will concentrate on the credit card in the next couple of months, then pay off the loan in August, and finish paying the card after.
I think I can pay £700 off the card next month.

Oh, and I forgot to say, yesterday I managed to get stuck in my bathroom!!! I never close the door normally, as it's just me and Shadow, but as my Granma was here I did, and the latch wouldn't move! I was wiggling the handle and nothing.
Granma had to pass my screwdriver thru the window and I had to take the handle off!

Oh dear! I've been reading your diary with interest. It's amazing the little things that crop up as time goes on that distract us from our DF journey?!
You are doing so well...keep up the good work!
