Re the running - if this other lady is prepared to run with you and gradually build your distance up could you not stick with the running group? If you know it is once a week you will go - if it is a friend there could be the "nah can't be bothered tonight" syndrome setting in!
The Bank of Scotland letter (attached to a promotion to increase/extend my current loan) came from a different address than the letter I recieved to say my loan was paid off.
I suspect that the promotions dept. haven't spoken to the accounts debt. and assume the account is still open.
I am going to have a few goes at running myself this week, now I've got an idea about pacing myself, and see if shes willing to run a shorter route again next tuesday. She is training for the half marathon at the end of the month so might want to run futher. We shall see.Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

Fingers crossed for Chloe's results. :T at the weight aspect and also doing so well for your first run. I agree you don't want to over do it too quickly to soon, but I am sure you will be ready to do the whole 9 miles soon. Just look how much you have progressed with your gym programme in such a short period of time as it is.x_raphael_xx wrote: »Thanks beanie.
Forgot to say too, I had a letter today from Bank of Scotland, telling me I had 6 payments left of my loan. I paid this off last year with a final settlement, they've not taken any payments or sent demand letters since, and infact I recieved a cheque off them last week for £44.19 so I'd obviously overpaid the settlement.
Going to send them a letter asking what their playing at!
haha!! That is computer generated letters for you. Who bets the system which deals with the curtsy letters which tell you how many payments you have left is not connected to the system which says...you have paid the loan off. haha at the thought if you did not tell them in the letter you are writing to them that you had had a cheque off them and they then sent you another one for £44.19.0 -

Well, took the car for it's MOT today and it failed! Losts of welding needed, and one of the tyres needs replacing. Mechanic said it would cost around £260 to repair and as I only want £250 for the damn thing it's not worth it.
So I am scrapping the car, and claiming my unused Car Tax back. I should get about £40 refunded for the Tax disc, and the scrappy has given me £50 to take it away. So I got rid of it for £90, and I will save on insurance & breakdown cover, and of course the very expensive diesel!
I've cancelled my breakdown cover, and I'm trying to cancel my insurance, but aparently I need to e-mail or fax them first. Then I have to pay a cancellation fee of £60.77 for the privilege
Edit: Insurance has now been cancelled, they reduced the cancellation fee to £44.84, they obviously calculated it wrong first time.
Tax disc and log book in the post. Should get my refund in about 3 weeks.

Oh piff! to all of this Raph, not what you needed and I'm sorry could you not say that the car is a write off (which it is!) and see if that makes a difference with the insurance company (probably not they are seriously keen on taking money from you and not giving it back!)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Well scrappie has the car now, so can't do that! :rotfl:
I'm not too down about it, I can save a lot more more money now, and if I miss a car that much I will get another in the new year after I'm debt free.

best £11.99 I've spent in a while
Took Shadow up to the garage, cos it's right next to the park, spent a nice hour walking in the sun before picking up the useless lump of metal
