  • You're not alone in that place being catnip @Blackcats, while marital disharmony and betrayal isn't at all amusing, I did laugh when it became known that the Health Secretary during covid was having an affair with the wife of the founder of that company, and the comment I most saw was 'she must be mad to give up her Oliver Bonas discount' 😁

Nothing wrong with still enjoying gifts given at the time @badmemory (you vixen)

I cleaned a pair of silver earrings with toothpaste earlier and it worked a treat. And I expect my earlobes are now less vulnerable to cavities so double win. Definitely not a job to do while wearing your best white jumper though so be warned!
  • Today's mse advent piece is a scarf a mate gave me that's really pretty but in that 'too bulky for warm weather, too thin for cold weather' category. It is however very nice to enjoy wearing about the flat and feeling a bit dressed up.

I have also realised a pendant I've had for years doesn't fit on any of my chains so that's gone in the vinted/car boot sale/charity shop pile

And I've eventually admitted that a pair of boots are worn beyond comfort even for popping to the post box in, so they'll be dropped into the shoe recycling bin next time I'm that way

My favourite shoes are worn beyond comfort.
Such a great way to say it.

Well yesterday was a green bracelet from a "mine" in North Wales a few years ago bought for me by a "friend".  Todays is a gold bracelet, well it has a safety chain so it must be gold right, bought for me for my birthday over 50 years ago.  Yes you guessed it, by the boyfriend of the time.  Reading this has made me realise that virtually all my jewellery was bought for me by some man.
I love the source of your jewellery - isn't that how Elizabeth Taylor acquired her fabulous diamonds?

@PennysIntoPounds - I'd forgotten that lockdown rule breaking affair.  It was a fair point about the loss of the Oliver Bonas discount in return for non functioning PPE.

Today is the team Blackcats Christmas night out so I've polished up my Tiffany jewellery for an outing.

Yes she did like the odd diamond.  I however do not fortunately, however the odd emerald ring & the sapphire one (which seems to have gone walkabout) are a different story.

Just piping into your lovely chat to say what a great idea :)
Since the lockdowns I tend to forget jewellery until I look in a shop and see something I fancy only to realise I already have something similar. Or things I've forgotten about.

I'm a bit late for Advent but I may take it up for the new year. Something every day.
For me with an injury so I'm in streatchy stuff day after day I can still add some jewellery or a scarf that hasn't seen the light for ages. Heck there's enough of it, the stuff I love but stays in the closet.

Ditto the decorations. I put angels our at Christmas collected from around the world when I could travel. I used to buy jewellery instead of Knicknacks but there's always one earing left or some such. I could add those to the display.

So thanks for the great idea.

A book I was reading recently the 'heroine' made a windchime out of beads from a much loved but departed relative so every time she came home it was as though that person was welcoming her. I thought that was a nice idea.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on

  • Welcome @twopenny, that's a nice story about the bead windchime

Starting tomorrow there are still five days until Christmas day so why not wear a favourite piece each day!
  • I wore a 90's pair of purple and green dangly titanium earrings yesterday, They matched my purple scarf and top and made me feel good. Delighted to have worn 19/24 pairs of earrings so far. Feeling accomplished.
  • Excellent 'work' @Wanna_Bee_Free

Today's advent jewellery is a pair of separated-from-their-partner earrings that go well together, no point having them and not wearing them!
I am also wearing a thermal shirt that shrunk and is a tiny bit smaller than I'd buy but in my head I'd remembered it as being unwearable. It's perfectly fine and I'm very much enjoying it. Got it out in the spirit of 'if it's unwearable why do you have a bulky item taking up space in the drawer' but it will now be worn more often

Enjoyed wearing a citrine teardrop pendant that has a dragon carved in the back of it - the weight of it was somehow resonant. It reminds me of the trip Mr KK took to the south of France to a family wedding 4 years ago. We had a free morning and went to a local market in Condom (yes, really! 😉) where I found it on a crystals stall 😊 Had an amazing lunch there too ❤️

Earrings were the ones that I lost one of for years and then found the missing one c. 4 months ago 😊 They are really pretty but need a good clean - looking forward to opening my Christmas present ultrasonic jewellery cleaner in a few days time 😉
