MMM good luck with your exams.
Fayolle enjoy your last few days/hours of work.
- went to aqua aerobics
- brief trip to Mr T to get more cards and a few bits & pieces; quite a few yellow stickers including lilies so our lounge now smells lovely.
- ate too much at biker friends Christmas lunch gathering
- visited friend in care home on my way back. She liked her flower arrangement.
- did a bit of drumming practice
- posted another batch of cards and wrote more; I've never been this late before but I suppose I have done a lot of work on Mum's too.
- went through a load of flagged emails ranging from paying cc, moving 'matured' ISA to a better one, reading documents etc. At least the flagged list is shorter than it was.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -

Morning all,
A day of annual leave today, to visit DD is uni city and see for myself how she is doing. She is back next week for hospital appointments but forewarned is forearmed and all that.
Flying is minimal although I have worked through a mountain range of ironing this week as I have played washing catch up. Anything else has been essentials only.
HB, I finish work one week tomorrow. I’m not officially retiring as I can’t take a pension yet - leaving to spend time with my family, is the official phrase. After the past year and juggling holiday to spend at hospitals with DD, we decided that enough was enough. Anything interesting that I did - and even some of the mundane - has mostly been moved elsewhere since the company was purchased, although I am now busy as people start to ask the questions that they should have done over a year ago… We have always been careful and savers, so the plan is to keep on being frugal and live off savings for a couple of years. Although I wouldn’t rule out going back to work at some point. Maybe.Right, I need to make an earlier start than anticipated as the motorway is closed and everyone is diverting themselves through our village, and it is now gridlocked.Have a lovely day everyone, I hope all car problems have been resolved without too much financial pain.7 -
It's another very cold morning here but also got winter sun.
My list for today
Do paid stuff
Revise for tomorrow's exam
Order a top for work as I need a spare one
Check banking and direct debits
Take the dog for a long walk
Finish painting the living room
Laundry x 2
Put the wallpaper up on the feature wall
Assist DH to put festive lights up outside
Check the diary and make sure everything is scheduled for December
Wash up dishes, dry and put away
Put ceiling decorations up whilst the ladders are out for painting
Sort through the festive presents and update the list to see what is still needed whilst also checking the batteries required.
I think that is everything for today, hope everyone has a lovely Thursday and stays warm.5 -
I'm claiming a bonus point!! I've sorted / cleaned/ put back neatly all the junk from the 'kitchen junk draw' ie the place where things go when no one wants them or can be bothered to put them in the right place, the junk draw now closes with out having to be pushed hard to close it!.Kitchen is also doneCats fedFire doneDrizzling here.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Didn't get Wordle despite having the last three letters in row two, too many options!
I have done a work shift, most dailies and admin so far today. Will carry on flying while I wait for a parcel delivery and then walk Poppet..Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Message from Piggers xxThank you for my fly-surprise .. I promise to get something for myself..Since disappearing I have been dehoarding my mother's house.. 5 tip runs and over 40 binbags to charity shop! Dehoarding my house.. over 30 binbags to charity shop and 7 tip runs!! Sold and gifted and binned so much more.. I have shuffled bedrooms and there will be a much better utilisation of space. C&C have moved back to Bangor so the only 2 people who helped are no longer here.. I feel that loss hard. OH is floating around like a dead jellyfish. Squeak is attending school and almost every lesson with her 1-2-1 support.. we did have a palaver when she left her art folder on the bus but it was returned to us thanks to the power of FB. Dot is just herself.. feral as ever but oddly doing ok at school though they are trying to make her do homework is proving to be an exercise in futility.. I have told them to back off, she tries really hard at school and does not need them making it harder. If she can manage top set without homework, I think she is ok. Pixie (all 5ft 6 of her that somehow feels like the wrong name for her now) has settled really well at secondary and we made the right decision sending her with Squeak. It has made getting Squeak on the bus so much easier and she has only needed taking to school twice and one time the bus driver let Pixie on and drove off leaving Squeak behind!! Twinkle has been hammered by the nose spray thing again so she missed 4 days of school.. she's still not right but she is well enough to be there. She has her swimming assessment on Saturday so is hoping to level up. We got Boogs PIP approved so that's one bonus.. Moomin is LOVING her apprenticeship.. dispenser at the pharmacy.. praying there is a job for her at the end of it! The cats are all mental as ever! DD1 is having a declutter and decorate as well so we are doing a lot of shifting stuff there too. We will all have empty, clean, manageable houses yet! DS1 is doing a bit better.. he is a work in progress.. an annoying work in progress lol.. He seems to be climbing up from rock bottom again and is finally seeing that there are people to uplift him and support him and he is seeking outside qualified help so hopefully he can turn himself around. My Nanna died in October. As per her wishes I did not go to the funeral. A bit of me wishes I had but not enough to make me sad about it. She wasn't there and there were people there who I didn't want to see so I made the right decision for me. To honour her I have planted freesias, she was told by a spiritualist many years ago to always have freesias in her home, so I planted some.We haven't wrapped a single thing so I need to get on with that.. but I appear to have misplaced the huge suitcase of wrapping paper! I have washed my dry clean only curtains and they're fine and stuck draught excluder tape over every single draught in the house. I have siliconed the gaps but Pudding just pulls it all out so we have gone with a stick on stuff this time.. fingers crossed he doesn't take a liking to that.I still have a huge hole in my ceiling BUT!!!! We had an interim payment from MILs estate so are FINALLY able to get the doors replaced to something secure and safe which is a huge relief so the first or second week in January they are being done.. it's all fun in here!I am still on FB (for now) if anyone misses me that much.. it's ok if not, I am pretty annoying..So, Thank you again for remembering me. I hope you all have the best Christmas, Yule, Eid, whatever or however or even if you don't celebrate and a magnificent New Year. Love you lots. That's lovely round - I remember Piggers from a good few years ago when I was previously flying. Her posts were always interesting 🙂"I started out with nothing

Good to have an update from pigpen - especially about the new doors xx
I've had a "meh" day: was still desperately tired when I woke up at 6am and couldn't get back to sleep before breakfast, so instead I slept for an hour and a half before lunch. I finally got going sufficiently after lunch to throw something in the SC for tea, then take Rosie for a not-very-long walk, and DH helped me load up the car with the rest of the stuff for a second tip run tomorrow morning. Apart from that, and FUPA some clean laundry, not a great deal has been achieved. I really need to be more productive tomorrow.

Nice to hear from Pigpen.
- overslept ok so maybe that can't count as flying
- went to Pilates
- sorted last few cards at Post Office
- got a few bits & pieces in town, delivered a local card
- drumming lesson
- started to prepare things for visiting a friend tomorrow: oasis soaking for flower arrangement; coconut flour biscuit recipe discovered; fruit out of freezer to make crumble.
- made several phone calls that needed doing
That doesn't actually sound much but I'm too tired to remember anything else.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8
