DH declutter challenge award 🏅⭐️7 -
- gym swim
- all overseas cards posted and many UK ones
- planned to go to voluntary work on my way home but found an "emergency road closure". There is another route, but would have involved a 6 mile trip past my house, so I emailed them to say I wouldn't be in.
- wrote a couple of letters
- did friend's flower arrangement and am fairly pleased with it.
- printed off two of the notes to explain which charity has been donated to for friends' Christmas presents.
- finished addressing/stamping all Mum's cards.
- one load through DW
- did a really good clear of kitchen; it is still full of tools and a part-built unit, but washing up is done and put away and other items migrated from other rooms have been put back.
- bit of drumming practice
- filled bird feeders. Winter is officially here as there were 8 or 9 fairies on the feeder, yippee.
- caught up with a few emails
- went to church group
- unfortunately found a new and highly addictive game on my JL advent calendar........Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Morning all. Up early for paid stuff. Just two days to go then I'm off for nearly a month, not that I'm counting down.....Wordle in four even though I had the first four letters in line two. Will report back later with flying.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Morning all xx
Not much sleep had and anxiety is rising. There's something wrong with my car. I suspect a 'big' something. Breathe. It's under warranty so that's covered but I need a car to get to work and back. A reliable car. I don't need hassle. I'm tired of hassle. Right now if I could get hold of the man who wrote off my other car simply because he was impatient I'd..... it wouldn't be pleasant.
Breathe....
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch bag, completed Strands without a hint, completed Wordle in five (even though I had the first four letters by the third line 👋 to Jazee), and only managed two lines on Connections. I've eaten my breakfast and supped a brew.
Just a normal morning then. Nope. Waiting for daylight to check how much coolant is in the car. If any. 😱. Garage doesn't open til 9. Not going anywhere til I've spoken to them. Best guess is not going anywhere today. Work are going to pleased...not. Well I can't say that I'm ecstatic to be fair!!!
Please can everyone pray, touch wood, cross fingers, for me. Muchas gracias.
Rxx

That's a proper bummer Round. I sincerely hope your car is just having a 'new place, better panic' vibes and will get the once over which will reassure it there's nothing to be concerned about.Fayolle, are you about to retire?Wordle in five, all four lines of Connections very quickly this morning, and Strands without a hint. I should be on a roll but I fear I'm not because -I dropped the full birdfeeder this morning while I was putting it out so the blackbirds I've been feeding for 10 years on my dogwalk will be doing well out of that. The longer walk I do with Wren involves going past a colony of sparrow which I've also been feeding for a decade but there are also pigeons, crows and seagulls which need to be distracted so the sparrows can get some food. I'm slightly worried that the sparrows aren't always there this winter.Today I've got to wash/scrub and bleach the loo brushes. There comes a time .... Rubber gloves at the read. Then I'll wash tcshe ornaments from a set of shelves in my office and decide which ones will be put back and which will be diverted to the CS along with some extraneous Chrismas gibble Belovéd no longer wants and I can't be bothered with. I may sneak a couple of sets of lights back out of the CS pile because he hates them, I love them and my office could do with some twinkles. At least one card needs to be written for the cousin in America - last day posting is tomorrow so that'll save me the cost of a phone call. Some dusting will occur and pastry will be flattened and folded.Better is good enough.7

Morning all,Well another repair needed on the sheet I mended after washing and tumble drying it yesterday after my first repair. It was a large T-shaped rip, and only about an inch at the bottom of the T has opened up next to the stitching, so will go over that again today.Phoned the bed shop after ordering a new mattress in October, and was expecting them to say it would be here this week, and unfortunately the supplier has had an issue that is out of their control (I'm assuming they couldn't get materials to make it - who knows) and it now looks like it won't be delivered to the shop before Christmas now.
I was really looking forward to having a nice new bed as our Christmas present. The only positive I'm taking from this is that at least I won't have a £600 bill just before Christmas now.
DH was due to take his car in for an MOT and service this morning after medically not being able to drive since April (car is SORN and he's now been cleared to drive again), and he reversed out of the driveway, only for it to breakdown and refuse to move. He had been going out regularly to run the engine to prevent the battery dying, but something has gone wrong clearly. He's had to pay out for the AA to tow it to the garage (not cheap). I was hoping he was going to be able to pick up the mince needed for DS1's food tech on his way home from the garage, but now it looks like I'm going to have to go out myself and get it instead (was hoping not to make a car journey for just one item, but DS1 needs it tomorrow).Did some of the bits from today's list yesterday before the list came up. Also baked chocolate chunk shortbread Christmas Trees for DS2's Christmas lunch on Friday. Think I'll try to get a couple of Christmas presents wrapped in a minute whilst having my second coffee of the day.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20178 -

Morning all. Calming vibes to round and MrSM. Cars!!!!
I made the first of two very necessary trips to the tip yesterday (it wouldn't all fit into my little car at once). As usual, the refuse men on duty there were extremely helpful to this little grey-haired old lady! It might have been possible to save the sofa, but there was no way of knowing until I had stripped some of the material off, and by then it was too late. We chopped it up. But it is wonderful being able to get to our front door without having to waltz around it.
So far today I have
- S&S'd the kitchen after breakfast
- showered and dressed
- persuaded DH to strip his bedding
- done my own
- asked DH to put the cover on my V-pillow, as I find that impossible, and he has done it
- given him the clean fitted bottom sheet for his own bed
- done WMx2 of 3, one of which is DH's bedding, currently in the TD, so that once dry it can go straight back on DH's bed (saves carrying it upstairs to store and bringing the clean bedding down to his room)
- wrapped DH's contribution to tonight's supper, so he only has to remember to pick it up and take it with him
- hoovered through downstairs
- FUPA the clean decorating cloths (used by DS1) and the plastic mini-greenhouse covers
- drunk my second coffee.
Rosie is out for her walk with L.
J the gardener is coming at 1 pm.
DGD1+2 need picking up at 3.10, feeding at 4.15, and returning to school by 5.15 for tonight's concert, which starts at 6.00. I shall wait in the car at school until DS1 arrives - so many road closures and diversions in this area that I wouldn't make it home and back again.
Enjoy your last few hours at work, Fayolle!
Hope everyone has a good day xxx7 -
Good afternoon everyone, I didn't really do much flying yesterday, just made a start on painting the living room and revised the exam that I had this morning. So far today I have gone into uni and done my second exam ( 3 left to do).
My list for today
Get wallpaper whilst in town
Take the dog for a long walk
Do some exam revision for Friday
Put the festive lights up outside
Go to DSs festive show at school (his last one as of to big school in the summer)
Move the living room furniture around.
Wash up dishes, dry and put away
Laundry x 2
Order a top for work as needing a spare one
Think that is everything that I need to get done today, I Hope everyone has a lovely Wednesday
