Weekly Flylady Thread 2nd December 2024

Morning all xx 

Well blow me down tis Friyayyyyyy again 😊 Woot woot. I'm up, made my bed,  dressed, packed my lunch bag, completed Wordle in four, completed Connections with no lives lost,  completed Strands with two hints, eaten breakfast,  unpacked a box of various drinking chocolate flavours and stood them next to the coffee, tea etc, and supped a brew. 

I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off for work. 

Two more parcels to come and that's my Christmas shopping done. I've paid the rent, bought stamps, and bought Euros to put in Pops' birthday card. 

Calling to see DSil on my way home tonight to drop off her birthday card and present. Mr BG is coming tomorrow between 10 am and 2 pm to fit their smart meter. Think I might put my tree up this weekend - bit earlier than usual but 🤷‍♀️. All go innit?

It's Friday again. It's been a quick week. I don't feel like I've gotten much done this week, but some things are removed from my list, so I'm saying it's been a productive week. 

My list for today
Take the car to the garage 
Attend uni lectures
Do paid stuff
Schedule festive food shopping
Take the dog for a long walk
Do festive shopping and update the list (aiming to get the last of the main presents purchased by the end of this week)
Laundry x 2 loads - In Progress
Sort Mr T order due for delivery tomorrow - Made an error slot is Sunday this week
Sort out the item that needs to be returned and take it to the post office. 
Do 3 hours of exam revision (starting to get very nervous as the first exam is on Monday morning)
Wash up the dishes, dry and put them away
Work out a plan for sorting out the living room, want to do it before Christmas although can't get a new carpet until January. 
Look at sofas as considering getting a new one but it won't be until after the holidays.
Take the dog to vet appointment
Check budget update from yesterday and review personal impact
Check banking and update direct debits
Collect the car from the garage

I think that is everything I need to try and get done today, I Hope everyone has a good Friday.

Flew very hard on Wednesday as had the photographers here for the house. I think I did every single piece on this list and then some. Have the roofers coming today to start making a repair on the flat roof (eighteen months after it happened!!!). Curtain rods hung up but couldn't finish the shower - ran out of time - so I need to do that next week weekend. 

Today's goal is to WFH for a real job to earn some kind of pennies and to do the master bedroom. Also must finish the paperwork and reply to the complaint email for the roof. 

Master Bedroom

Level 1

Open windows w-i-d-e unless it's persisting it down/freezing
Strip bed
Allow to air
Remake bed

Level 2

Clear floordrobe and chairdrobe
Clean windows
Vacuum, sweep or mop floor
Empty bin
Put as much stuff as you can away - clear the clutter

Level 3

Dust all sides and shelves
With a just damp cloth wipe all your lotion and potion bottles, hairdryers (especially if you use product while blow drying) etc. and put all perfumes away in a drawer. The sun/heat will damage the contents.
Rinse the cloth and wipe sockets and switches
Polish mirrors
Vacuum/dust light fittings and lamps

After that, pack my suitcase because holiday awaits!

✔️General tidy up (not too bad in there 👍)
✔️HHI
Put laundry/ironing away

Dust & vacuum everywhere (nominate OH to do stairs)

Pretty much got all of my list done yesterday apart from make a cake! Bananas are getting browner each day!!! 

List for today (I have 2 hours!)

Put up the second christmas tree ready for kiddos to decorate later.
Clear the last few bits off the stairs

Bathroom, Cloakroom, En suites

Level one
Polish mirror and shower screen
Wipe shower cubicle out
Change towels and put the old ones straight into WM

Level 2

Clean loo - finish with a squirt of bleach bleach
Clean basin - don't forget to clean the underside of the plug
Wash toothbrush holders/toothmugs
Wipe 

Level 3

Clean bath
Clean floor
Wipe door(s) down paying special attention to handles
Check cabinets - wipe sticky shelves

Multiple bathrooms to do so I had better get a move on!!!

Apologies for being MIA and not having posted for a while (though I have been keeping up with the thread) but this is what I have expended most of my energy on.  Rich fruit cakes, approx 10x10 cm, four of each design, to sell at the church Christmas Fair tomorrow.

I have done minimal flying this week, but I am up to date with washing up and laundry, and we haven't starved.  DGD1+2 put up and decorated our new little 3ft Christmas tree on Wednesday - it looks great in the LR, and leaves a lot more space for all the family when they come to visit together than the old 5ft one did! -  so what with that and the garden lights we are already quite festive. 

I have more cakes (GF and vegan) to make this evening for the refreshments stall and will spend all day tomorrow at the Fair, but this afternoon we are going out for coffee and cake at a GC with friends to celebrate the second anniversary today of my successful heart op - it's good to be alive

Ionafan - they're absolutely wonderful!  I'd certainly buy one if I were at the Christmas Fair and be utterly delighted with it.  No wonder you've been MIA this week.  Huge congratulations on your two year anniversary.  You're certainly making the most of your bonus years.

Valli, the bathroom will look great when I get everything cleaned and back in but I'm exhausted, so it's all still in boxes.  It will be worthwhile in the end but it was a bad idea for Belovéd and I to read in bed for so long for two nights while the decorator was due to start at 8.00am.  We're both knackered.

I spent the morning doing things I had to do today and managed to break several things, spill a lot of stuff because I kept dropping things and had a mini-meltdown at one point.  I threw in the towel after lunch but I did at least rake up the leaves before they got rained on again.
