Massive amounts of Flying due to the decorator being here which has revealed just how caked in dust so much of the house is. Fortunately he's only working in three rooms and the front door, so I'm not going to worry about the areas he's not in. He was hoping to get done in one day but he'll be back tomorrow to finish the bathroom and a couple of areas in my office to cover up damp ingress after painting on some sort of block - the chimney was repointed a few years ago and there was nowhere else for the damp to go. Large black cat, Higgs, managed to find the only flat surface with silk paint on it (the tiny bathroom window sill) and walked his white painted paws over the cork floor, which Belovéd found in time to clear up before it dried.I spring cleaned Wren's crate, washed the bedding and cover and washed the shower curtain, and shuffled the dangled loads around. Managed to get it all in just before the rain started, so the house looks like a laundry but it'll all be completely dry by tomorrow morning. There's been a lot of dusting and polishing, sorting and re-organising today that I hadn't intended but my garden centre lunch neighbour wanted to postpone because her back's hurting. She's 83, I don't like to push the pace, so we're going on Friday instead which may suit me slightly better in some ways.I've made puff pastry which will be for my sausage rolls, and two lots of rich shortcrust for mince pies which are for Belovéd and guests. I'm going to have to like them a lot to give up any sausage rolls but they can have as many mince pies as they like. I need more practice at puff, although my rough puff with a few turns does pass.Connections managed after about two hours, Strands not a lot of fun today but managed, and Wordle in six. Not one of my brighter days.Better is good enough.6

Sorted out more Christmas stuff and went to the Post Office on my way to work. Work was quite a team effort as it was the carol service this evening so after lunch, we all moved chairs/tables and set out flower arrangements/electric candles for the evening. Carol service was lovely; we have been to several of theirs even before I started working there.
Both house documents I signed last night and this morning have worked now and gone to solicitor/conveyancer. I think that means we have a bit of respite, other than packing. DB keeps saying that we are in charge of the completion date, but I don't think we can delay further than mid-Jan
Wrote a load more cards.
Organised gifts and checked cards for the 2 ex-college and uni workmates I'm meeting tomorrow for coffee (one) and lunch (both). So tomorrow I need to collect up those, remember my drumsticks and music as I will be going out at 10.45, meeting the friends then going to drumming lesson straight after - hopefully via a CS as I need to get Mum a Christmas jumper as I note there are several 'jumper days' on the care home timetable for December and I don't want her to feel left out.
Wrapped present for stepDB and SIL which we need to take to Mum's house at the weekend where hopefully DB will remember to pass it on to them when they meet up. Remembered at 11pm that we did a Big Give donation for them too, so created and printed off the details of that.
Did some drumming practice.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
I had a very productive day yesterday, so hopefully, I can keep that up. The only thing I didn't get done was organising festive food shopping. I'm not managing to keep up with the thread so hugs to those who want/need them.
My list for today
Attend uni lectures
Do paid stuff
Schedule the festive food shopping
Take the dog for a long walk
Take the car to the garage to see what is wrong and get it booked if required
Put the new showerhead on (or get DH to do it)
Look at the paint charts and discuss them with DH - Work In Progress
Spend 2 hours on exam revision
Do some festive shopping and update the list
Dust the bedroom
Work out a plan for sorting out the living room, want to do it before Christmas although can't get a new carpet until January.
Look at sofas as considering getting a new one but it won't be until after the holidays.
Ask DH about a festive date night - Can't decide on a night as so much happening
I think that is everything that I need to get done today. I hope everyone has a lovely Thursday.

General daily stuff doneMan flu has arrived inthe house!, various 'cures' bought from chemist, I'm not convince most of them work, but it is what he wants. It is drizzlingKitchen doneMince out to defrost to make shepherd's pie.Cats had their annual trip to the vets yesterday, all were reasonably behaved, 1 refuse his tablet so had to be taken out the back and wrapped in a towel, as I was getting cat 3 out of his carry box, the vet said she would hold him, while I put the box on the floor, she didn't have hold of him as such, so he jumped on the floor ran round!. But over all a good trip and cheap than I thought, as they had an offer on for jabs until the 15th Dec.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Decorator has finished so I'm gradually putting things back where they belong after a thorough dust, wash, scrub etc as appropriate. This may take some time. Every time I think I've finished I spy something else that is fluffy with at least a decade of dust.

It’ll look lovely when you’ve finished Honey Bear..
Ive come to bed, it’s horrid out there, there’s nothing worth watching on tv and my feet are cold because my jeans are wet from seeing to the rabbits. I’m supposed to go to an event tomorrow but i don’t think i’ll bother.
