Apologies for being slightly absent, but it is a busy time - and I am fighting hibernation ! I just need too much introvertion and mental rest! Any how I reinterviewed for a job yesterday where the whole interview process was ditched in September. I did better - but was a greyish number two for the job so I am equally proud and pooped. Proud that I did much better, and I felt I did my best, and pooped that it just wasn't good enough!
Anyway need to buy a few bits for gifts and Christmas and that is the end of the spendy season.

With you @ditty1234 on trying to fend off the hibernation…
Today I had to really push myself to head into the city for cake and tea with colleagues, two of whom were marking their last day before moving on to pastures new.
Hit NSD 7 today… could have been 8 had I not bought a new Christmas tree last night when I spotted a nice-looking one on sale at Mr Lewis’. I had been putting pennies away for a replacement for our wonky wobbly 14-year-old.Grateful today for manager paying for the treats and tea (gifting me a NSD into the bargain), for a very delicious plum Danish, and for it being Thursday… almost Friday 🤣NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸5 -
Today I am grateful for my 7p veg (!), for dh putting up fairy lights in the front window, for Pip being prescribed melatonin and for being able to start it during the hols, for a lovely phone call with a friend, for my snuggly bed.

I've been wobbly legged for the past few days so not much has been done. Wanted to go to the solicitor's yesterday but it was lunchtime before I got dressed, I'd showered had my pills and breakfast and then dozed off again. Ploughed on but gave up when I couldn't find my handbag (used on Saturday). No point rummaging around looking for random items, I need to start at one end and work methodically.
More things were added to the WM, some pots were washed, made some wholemeal buns up with mayo, grain mustard, brisket, red onions and spinach, tried to reduce the brisket juices to make gravy but I forgot and it burnt.
Today I went to the solicitor's in a taxi. I've realised that I'm fast running out of time and the solicitor's closes on Friday and reopens on January 2nd. The receptionist was lovely, photocopied all my documents (original grant of probate, my passport, bills that had both my address and grandma's house on - I'd said everything was online but I've been paying bills on the other house). It was all so simple that I'm wondering why they wanted me to do the registration via a QR link and then (I only found out this bit last night) take photos of myself and my passport and then scan/ send them.
Came out of the solicitor's and turned the corner which was the side street facing Icy land so had a toddle round there. Resisted buying lots of things, they didn't have some things I specifically wanted but I have some everyday items and a turkey crown which is defrosting on top of the fridge-freezer and I'll cook it on Saturday or Sunday - whenever it's defrosted. I was going to buy 3 of the small 3 for £10 joints but cooking one thing is much simpler than 3 (they'll all need turning or the foil removing or glaze adding at different stages and I'll have a whole page of timings). So Sunday dinner is turkey (or sandwiches if I'm busy) and the rest will be sliced and packed in meal sized portions.
Had a taxi home and put all the freezer stuff away. I watched a film and some episodes of a comedy drama (not wildly funny but amusing and undemanding). Yesterday I managed to set the clock right on my laptop so I can now access more free streaming services. I will have a go at setting up some of the pre-appointment tests tomorrow, just didn't have any energy left this afternoon.
Probably still need a small shop at some point (I checked available delivery slots yesterday evening - there were some late this evening, a few on Sunday and then quite a lot between Christmas and New Year so I'll carry on using up what I have and try to go to the community shop or do a small order. I have ordered some paper plates, containers and cups. Washing up is taking so long with multiple baling out with buckets and there are other things I need to be doing. If I use paper plates (especially once the builders move in) and then bin them (some will get multiple uses) life will be much simpler. I can pack away my good pots, just keeping one of each out. So I'll plod on with washing up but most of it will be packed once it's dry before anyone has the chance to re-use it. The containers are food prep size and will do for chopped salad items and desserts (fruit, jelly and ice cream).
Grateful for getting to the solicitor's and to buy some food, for a relaxing afternoon, for sort of plans (very vague)9 -
Nsd#10 for me. Better than I was expecting. Tomorrow won’t be a nsd as I need petrol and any last minute presents. I am so tired this week. Looking forward to my first Saturday lie in for a couple of months Saturday. I could happily hibernate. Winter is poop.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #826

Thanks for the tip about the veg @apple_muncher. I was expecting it to be double that price. Our boats are cancelled over the weekend, so there are massive deliveries tomorrow instead. Going to nip & get veg after work tomorrow, before my night out, in case there's none left Sat once I'm able to drive!
A better day at work today, phew! Was given a VERY generous present by a pupil. Had to look at the voucher part twice, to check it actually had my name on it & wasn't meant for someone else! 🤣
Had a nap before tea, then replaced a zip in a pair of jeans. Packed an overnight bag ready for tomorrow, I'm staying at mum's after my work do.
Grateful for surprise presents, getting another sewing job finished, one day left of work before the holidays 🎉Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

NSD #7 STILL for me
The present I had ordered for OH wasn't suitable, but I liked it, so decided to keep it for myself. Ordered an alternative for OH. That is present spending done. I still need to do a smallish food shop, but that will be it. Work today and yesterday and it was very busy, particularly yesterday.
Hoping for more NSDs from now on!Grateful that work was busy (the time passes quicker), a few laughs with colleagues, and that lots sold including some of my items6 -
Today I am grateful for going to the gym, for dh driving Pip into town, for the 12' inflatable Grinch in a santa jacket that I drive past, for trying to sort out my work dates for next year, for my book.
