Thanks TG, Lucielle, EH and Blackcats.
I am likely to be busy putting my house back to rights, emptying my car, catching up on washing, packing etc for a few days. I need to go and pick up meds too. I will also have to travel again and spend time with Mum before and after i go abroad. I am not worried about not having enough to do as everything feels in total chaos and my home and practical stuff has been completely neglected.
I am still going on my lakes and mountains holiday and that will be busy and a therapeutic place to grieve.
I also want to upgrade my travel insurance.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Sorry for your loss but glad that your dad’s suffering is done. I hope it hasn’t come as too much of a shock to you and the wider family (even though these ends are expected in these circumstances it can still catch people out) and I am really glad that you have your holiday coming up.Sending hugs x

Have you got an opportunity to see your counsellor before your holiday? You seem to get good input from them.
Sending my condolences SH, sounds like the end was peaceful at least. However it always is a shock for those left behind...DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thinking of you and wishing you a peaceful holiday.(((hugs))) XXXI Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy2 -
