The hospice staff and district nurses are great. We’re likely to just help as family for rest as the volume of people are already high. Doctor explained things to my parents and then us today.

I've come home again as I need recovery time.  Not expected to be long now. But have lots of siblings and extended family so taking it in turns to be there.

Cat 🐈 seems better. Neighbour kept an eye on him. I dropped flowers 💐 off as a thank you.

Glad you are all working together to ensure that everyone gets recovery/recharge time SH - that's really important in such a stressful situation and of course you all need to look after yourselves or you will be no good for supporting your other parent and each other.

Hope you get time to rest and recharge and that cat is also recovering.     This part is so hard but it sounds as if you have great family around you to support the process. Sharing and supporting and being able to get time out for yourself will be key.  Sending love

Parent still hanging in there.

Think I broke a toe the other day dropping something. Also knocked coffee all over my couch. Burn on my hand from a week ago starting to peel. Debating whether to return to see parent again but my concentration is obviously not the best and it is several hours drive. There are also too many people there and I am not sure I'd cope. I'd also have to get a hotel....

Currently at hairdressers which is nice and a bonus counselling, laugh and haircut deal.

I need to finish getting stuff sorted for my holiday too which has been derailed by recent events.  Due to fly out part way through the week after next. Not finalised cat or parking arrangements yet. I am a bit reluctant to add cost in case I am prevented from going. I also need to upgrade my insurance. 

I also need to resolve the rest of the vet bill from a week ago. I was due to meet a pet sitter this morning but she stood me up. On the plus side she is cheap and local.

Worked most of yesterday and had a therapeutic chat with a colleague. 

Strangely life admin is a struggle! I've binned most of the food I have bought recently. I am eating but more what I buy on the day...

Have you said what you needed to say, have they said what they needed to say to you? 

Beyond that it becomes presenteeism and you need to look after yourself. That drive sounds worrying for you. You have supported and helped, and if you’ve reached overload then that’s that. 

I’m not surprised that life admin is a struggle. You are probably a bit ‘all about’ atm - that makes organising anything difficult. 

I’m glad the hairdresser session helped 😊

You've got a lot going on.  If buying food on the day is easier, then do it for now!

It sounds like parent is very well cared for and surrounded by lots of people, so if you need some more time to decompress then do what's right for you.
