Aww thank you everyone, it's lovely of you to post
I'm still around, I'm not sure if I'm coming or going this week, it's been very hectic. Thank goodness it's Friday.
I have still been padding, so I need to look back through my account and see what I've done this month.
DH finished last week, and took the long weekend off, so that was nice. We had to take the kids to the opticians for their checkups, but other than that did the obligatory trip to the seasideAnd had a mooch around the boot sale on Monday.
On Tuesday he went in to a community employment hub who helped tweak his CV, so that was good. He also went to an agency and came out with a job! It's temporary but I think 12 weeks and potential to become permanent. So he started there yesterday. We weren't expecting it to be that quick. It's closer to home so lesser commute, slightly higher paid and the same hours Mon-Thurs, but with an earlier start and a lunchtime finish on Fridays so all those are positives. He wasn't sure about it yesterday but seems to be happier today so fingers crossed!
It's been a tough week at work for me, even though it's been a short one, but I've made good progress (I hope!) with something that's been bugging me. I did have a lovely day in London last week though we didn't win the award. It was all very posh though and a nice day out with colleagues.
Relatives have got 2 little kittens who are adorable so the kids are enamoured, and wanting to spend time there which is nice.
I'm back on healthy eating again. I've been reducing my carbs and processed foods and loading up on fruit and veg. I've actually lost 4lb but that was from a gain, and is all water for sure. But it's a great start and hopefully I can continue. I need to get back to doing my challenges again to keep the exercise going.
I feel like I'm ready to collapse in a heap this weekend. It's definitely a relief that DH has something for now, and it feels like a weight off my shoulders (and moreso his!)."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Glad all is well 🙂 That’s great news that DH has a job. My current job was temporary for 12 weeks after being made redundant from a previous employer - 25 years later I’m still here 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

It would be nice if this job works out similarly

So pleased your other half has a job. I think a lot of employers take people on a temporary contract to see how they work out and if they prove to be unsuitable its easy to lay them off. I will keep my fingers crossed.2
